  • "He's a fighter I don't like, to be honest...if he would've faced the fighters from the 80's and 90's, he wouldn't be able to do anything...he's chosen his opponents...he fights for himself...not the public...he never faced the best...I would've knocked him out," stated Hall of Fame Mexican icon Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., who had a lot to say about undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather. Check it out!

    This guy was undefeated 89-0 at one point of his career

    • @OGFrylock
      @OGFrylock 4 года назад +72

      Yes and out of those first 89 maybe 10 are worth mentioning. When Chavez was 65-0 he fought Aramburu who was 0-1. Chavez built his resume on F level opponents.

      @bojack335 when chavez was 40-0 he fought Flores who was 0-0 at least Mayweather McGregor sold millions of ppv.

    • @OGFrylock
      @OGFrylock 4 года назад +23

      @bojack335 personally I don't think the McGregor fight should even count. At the end of the day people use Chavez record as a means to discredit Mayweather, in 49 fights Mayweather was undefeated, 26 world title fights beat 23 world champions and was a 15 time world champion in 5 weight classes, in 115 fights Chavez was 16-3 against world champions and was a 6 time world champion in 3 weight classes.

      @@bascorasco7984 Let me put it like this, castillo BEAT mayweather in EVERY SINGLE category a boxing fight is judged. Not just 1 where if it was that case then i would see a draw or a loss, he beat mayweather in all of them. Official punch stats are...
      Total punches:
      Castillo landed 203/506 resulting in 40% connect ratio.
      Mayweather landed 157/448 which is 35% connect ratio.
      Castillo landed 46 more total punches
      Power punches:
      Castillo landed 173/377 resulting 46% connect ratio.
      Mayweather landed 66/151 resulting 44% connect ratio.
      Castillo landed 107 more power punches than mayweather.
      Castillo beat mayweather in every single category a boxing fight is judged. More power\total punches landed, was the ring general/pushed the aggression throughout the fight. THAT was a robbery. Mayweather didnt even win 1 category yet he still got the decision. 💰 💰 💰 talks

    That's what all older fighters say, they think that fighters of today are worse than fighters of their day, which is complete utter bullshit, JCC was great in his time, but if u know a damn thing about boxing, u will know that he wouldn't have been competitive against the fighters of today, this is the natural evolution of the sport, fighters learn from the older fighters, they learn a lot of tricks and the gather that from different fighters, they also don't do the mistakes fighters in the past used to do.
    Not surprised by his response, but the truth is, he would've been easier than Pacquiao for Mayweather and Pacquiao would'be KOed him easily within 10 rounds.

These old fighter's just seem bitter, cause they let their managers rob them and they see what they could have been with Floyd. Just imagine how good Floyd would be if he actually had good hands. If he thinks Floyd lost to those guys then he got dominated by Whitaker. They should have asked him about that. I never see Floyd disrespect any older fighter's, but they always seem to hate on him. To add some reason to this forum: It is not crazy to think that JCC would beat Floyd! Castillo was only the sparring partner for JCC and Jose should have gotten a draw in their first fight. 2) JCC OWNED Uncle Roger! the defensive posture Floyd uses would have been shredded by JCC. 3) Floyd is always allowed to get back to the center of the ring and off the ropes which is a BIG favor for him! Floyd is an idol to most of his fans and that alone keeps many from thinking clearly about BOXING as an art.

      @Alex T Don King controlled who fought Chavez and helped Chavez get favorable decisions. Floyd had to deal with Bob Arum, J. Prince, Don King, Golden Boy. De LaHoya had the nerve to say Floyd was cherry picking then 2 seconds later admitted he De La Hoya himself could have fought Floyd earlier and controlled a bunch of Floyds opponents.

      @Alex T Roy Jones cleaned out the middleweight division then moved up to lightheavy, won that title I believe undisputed. Which I believe had never been done before. moved up to heavy won a title. Which was unheard of was historic. He immediately went back to lightheavy I think he lost too much weight too fast but anyway it has been done before and after Chavez. Arguello, De LaHoya, Mayweather, Pacquiao and some of these guys have had to gain and lose a lot more weight than Chavez.

      @Alex T Chavez didn't fight Whitaker at lightweight, didn't rematch Taylor until years later when he wasn't the same. Fought Camacho after the Mancini, Rosario, Haugen fights. Randall had to wait to get a shot at him.

      @Alex T Roy was head and shoulders way best at middle at time. He beat the short Mexican guy I think Junior Ortiz for heavy but hey that's who had title at the time. He may have been able to beat Holyfield with speed etc. and maybe some other short world class heavywefights. Roy saw an opportunity and a challenge. He had nothing to do with Ortiz getting the title before he himself moved up. Antonio Tarver demanded a fight said Roy was ducking him as a pro that's why he lost that weight that fast. But the original point I was making was other fighters before and after Chavez have moved up in weight and won titles.

      @jumaanemcennis4353 3 года назад

      @Alex T Camacho fought Chavez. I think Randall was older than Chavez. Other contenders and champs avoided Randall they knew how good he was. I think King and Chavez got surprised they didn't think Randall hit hard enough to win and his addictions took away a lot of his talent.

      FuckingHateTwilight He faced more champions than Floyd Mayweather. He actually did that’s a fact. And back then there were less belts and divisions than there are now. Mayweather has had some great fights but very few ever presented real risk. In fact Julio fought over 40 fighters who had earned at least one title if not more over their careers. And Julio holds the record of most title defenses of all time and 2nd most title Ko’s. Floyd chose when and where to fight his opponents and there is a reason he went to court for after the Pacquiao debacle then settled out. May weather’s contracts have very suspicious permissions for PED’s and The Pac-Man wasn’t comfortable with that. It makes me wonder how many fighters let that go just to get a big money fight. Mayweather is a good boxer but wouldn’t have beaten Julio at 140 or been able to ever match that record despite his opponents. He definitely is not TBE. I reserve that title for Sugar Ray Robinson.

    True statements but mayweather can give boxers in the 80s problems that's just my opinion.

    no disrespect to chavez snr he's a true legend of boxing but to say mayweather hasn't fought anybody Is a bit silly he's fought the best this generation has to offer

    All right here it is, Mayweather‘s ring IQ is outstanding same with Chavez from an offensive perspective. I do think Mayweather has the advantage in the ring due to his mobility he would probably win on points however in a real fight let’s say at a bar or if you put the two of them in a tight space like jail cell Chavez would make easy work of him. Chavez would be a nightmare in a street fight.

      may2 may2 No he hasn't. Mosley was almost 40. PAC was over the hill. De la Hoya really won that fight and he barely won on a spd. Castillo beat him and everything he knows it

      @FuckingHateTwilight It is not relevant to you, but it is, because it proved to be slightly outdone by someone who is not considered at the elite level

    He pulverized Roger Mayweather twice! Rogers boxing style is almost identical to Floyd's so it would have been quite interesting.
