Micro Fishing with Power Bait? Brilliant or Stupid?

It was a nice sunny day so I went down to the local canal to do some micro fishing. Micro fishing in Japan can be a rewarding experience as you can find lots of places and species to fish. Today I mostly caught different species of chub. I started with a worm but soon switched to micro fishing with power bait

I brought my one-meter rod and my new tenkara rod which is 2.4 meters. I only used the tenkara rod as I wanted a little extra reach and to try out he new rod. I started using a small bit of worm first but soon switched to using the power bait I had picked up in the USA. I think the smell of the power bait works well for microfishing. They aggressively attacked the power bait but I had difficulty hooking them at first till I switched how I put the bait on the hook.
Overall it was a great day of micro-fishing till it was time to pack up and go to work

I know some of them are. I prefer them in the late summer wheb they get a little fatter
