@@liuc4131 I use the knowledge of astrology I have gained over my years of astrology study, and I just apply the new placements to my innerstanding of myself. For example, I am a Leo rising in sidereal while I am a Virgo rising in tropical. I see how I may appear to the world as more Leonine than Virgoan.
Much of this is just progessing your Western Sidereal chart. It’s worth doing with this programme as you need to know the calculations to progress a birth wheel. We also have planets returning through the Keiper belt having spent thousands of years out of view. Pam Gregory Astrology goes into this in detail.
I am so glad that I found your playlist. I have been puzzled for the longest time because I am an amateur astronomer and have long known that the Sun was in Taurus when I was born but have been told all my life that I was a Gemini just because I was born in May. Now, much more of my life makes a little more sense. I will have to do some more research into this. Thank you for producing this content and sharing your knowledge. Be well.
Big error here. Ptolemy placed the vernal equinox on March 21st because that is where it was during HIS time, He never intended it to be general rule for Western tropical astrology. This error in translation was due to the church fathers (they were not astrologers) who translated his already translated book, to Latin, THEY are the ones who wrote "the vernal equinox is on March 21st" . Ptolemy was using the SIDEREAL zodiac, not tropical

This chart is actually your progressed sidereal chart so work the two together. Look at who you were and who you have become. Saturn returns to your birth chart every 42 years which gives you a chance to reset your life. It also naturally progresses your chart if you know the calculations to do so. Also the Mayan calendar of 13:20 time gives you your glyph and your chart which often reveals your north and south node which Western birth wheels do show. They all interconnect. It’s fascinating and doing this chart saves time on working out your progressed chart.
i love true sidereal. ive known my sidereal chart for a long time and i related to it for the most part BUT i just did not see Scorpio moon at all. Turns out I'm actually a Libra moon, I first saw it in the app Stellarium. It's soooo much more on point and accurate.

Just recently discovered your channel & true sidereal astrology. It makes so much sense! I’ve always found traditional astrology helpful in generalities but not so much in specifics. Now I understand why. I’m an Aquarius in both so those traits fit. But for a daily forecast, sidereal makes so much difference! And my husband, who in mainstream astrology is also supposed to be an Aquarius, is actually a Capricorn in sidereal astrology! Omg! I’ve always thought he was more of an earth sign. Now it fits! Hey Athen, have you seen Vic DiCara's Astrology series on RUclips? He does an incredible job with comparing Tropical and Vedic Sidereal charts for various celebrities. He not only goes into detail with explaining house lords and aspects but he also provides easy visuals as well. He reminds me of you, a professional and articulate astrologer who's interesting and engaging. I think that comparing 1: Tropical, 2: Vedic Sidereal and 3: your True 13 Sidereal zodiac with clockwise house system may be a lot of work but it would give us a more complex and complete view of individuals. Keep up the great work!

This simply makes so much more sense to me. I resonated with Aries but not as my Sun, which would be very obvious. To learn that I'm a Pisces sun with Mercury in Aries makes more sense.
I’m Also Pisces sidereal with Aries in Mercury and I never really resonated with Aries but I resonate so much with Pisces it describes me perfectly

According to the new age method I am a Virgo Sun - Libra Moon - Capricorn Rising - according to true sidereal astrology I am truly a Leo Sun - Virgo Moon - Sagittarius Rising .. It adds up! And yess - My mercury is in the center of virgo which is why virgo alway resonates. Thank you for your content!
I gotta say, while I am so open to the information you are putting out there, even my own chart in tropical astrology versus sidereal is so much more accurate... Under tropical astrology, I am an early Virgo sun (August 27), Aquarius moon, Scorpio ascendant, Venus and Mars in Cancer. The way I have dealt with conflict in my life, for instance, is so a mixture of these signs... I tend to blend a feisty attitude with uber sensitivity toward my loved ones and animals. I mean seriously. Under your framework, I'm a Leo sun with a Cap moon and Libra ascendant, Venus and Mars in Gemini. Gemini!! I'm definitely airy, but not in that way. Especially given the fact that under all that seeming detachment of my main three planets I'm a softy, very in touch with my feelings, very not Gemini... I don't know. I have gauged the charts of a few friends and it's not adding up for me. Just some two cents... Love the idea and I can see how astrology needs to be tweaked but maybe we are only scratching the surface as to how.
Riles you are mostly your sun&moon signs. mars and venus are for love & sexuality.
It sounds like your practical relatabilty comes from the Capricorn Moon and you rationalize that energy being Virgo when it isn't. Leos, along with Capricorns, are more emotional and sensitive than they lead on. Leo Suns lead from the Heart and can take things personally, while Capricorn Moons are empaths who were conditioned to bottle their sensitivity because they had to grow up quickly - they don't want to be manipulated by guilt. Leos also have a kindred spirit connection with animals. As someone else pointed out, the Sun deals with purpose, joy, and creativity while the moon deals with instincts and emotional security. The Ascendant deals with identity and image, our personal perspective. This trinity tells you way more about yourself than other planets. Mars is how you assert your leadership and the type of masculine energy you may present. Anyways, I totally get it. It took me a hot minute to adjust as well, but knowing my true purpose is that of becoming my Leo Sun as opposed to a Virgo Sun has made massive improvements to my overall happiness. I'm a Virgo Ascendant, which is why I resonated with the Virgo energy before, so they energy is still there - it's just not my contract for happiness.
It's so interesting what you said about resonating with the mainstream sun sign and comparing that to sidereal Venus/Mercury placement: My tropical sun sign is in Virgo, and in sidereal it's in Leo. I resonate so strongly with the Virgo energy, but in both tropical and sidereal, my Mercury is still in Virgo (29 degree tropical and 5 degree in sidereal).

I’ve gotten a 13 house natal Chart done and that was horribly inaccurate they’re including ophiuchus as the 9th house it’s like they’re forcing ophiuchus to have its own house. The 8th house is shared by Scorpio and ophiuchus smh ,I’m sticking with the regular 13 sign 12 house sidereal system
LEX LOGAN thats the biggest debate about the 13 signs system tho why wouldn’t ophiuchus have it own house
What do you think about lilith in astrology?
I'll speak from my own experience here :) Lilith is a force to be reckoned with, and I do wish the chart calculators and software included it, along with the 4 major asteroids (Ceres, Juno, Vista, etc). Lilith is basically the "psychopathic seed" in all of us (not to say that we're all psychopaths! Just that we have the potential to exhibit some of the behavior *if* our survival depended on it). It's the darkness (which can be benign or malignant). Example - my soon-to-be-ex has Lilith tightly conjunct his ascendant in Leo (a very prominent and powerful placement!), and he does indeed exhibit the behavior patterns of a full-blown cool/calm/collected/controlling psychopath. So yes, always pay attention to Lilith! I hope that helps :)

Interesting, but a simple question to consider. Why should a cluster of constellations which look nothing like their purported signs have anything to do with who we are? The constellations were clearly made up and given names like Leo, Cancer, Aries, etc but they look nothing like a Lion, Crab, or Ram. It seems as if....the whole system of astrology is on par with ancient mythology, and has no place today's more scientific era.

Gosh, I thought my 11/29 bday made me Ophiuchus, but I am a Scorpio according to sidereal zodiac. My chart for sidereal does sound on point. It changes everything though
So far most everyone I know matches their tropical chart, even the ones who don't believe in astrology. I'm not trying to be biased this is just what I've observed personally. And it is confusing me also. I'm trying to figure this out as much as I can. What have you noticed as far as which system matches better?

Stars are for the moon the seasons and the signs are for the sun and the houses are for the earth. Signs are true if western. Nakshatras if eastern. And houses if placidus.
Also a problem is - that most are not ready to admit - Earth's orbit got rocked with the erroneous destruction of our sister planet, Tiamat distorting our trip around the Sun from a near perfect 360 days a year system to this off-kilter 365.25 day a year mess. Still grateful. Could have been a lot worse I suppose with 'as above, so below' and all that.
According to sideral astrologers , my star sign is the previous one. But I can’t understand why I don’t carry any of the traits of the star sign. The star signs traits remain the same?

I wish you also supported placidius house systems, a sidereal system can’t be really true unless the houses are also accounted for their true size and not just rounded to be all equal to each-other. I can’t find any chart generator that permits both true sidereal and a placidius house system.
So thankful not to be a Pisces sun... Aquarius Feb 22! Hrm. But I still have a Pisces stellium. Guess I'm forever a fish in one way or another 🐟

Hi Athen, Thanks so much for your great work. A question. At 3:28 there is a true sidereal chart with the 13 constellations. The inner wheel with the houses reflects the size of the outer wheel of constellations where in other true sidereal charts there are only 12 houses. Could you give this newbie some clarification please? TIA

In sidereal Astrology I'm an Aries and Tropical astrology I'm a Taurus.. I resonate so much with Tropical. None of my sidereal information resonates with me..
If we compare the sky (together with the stars) to a ruler (the one you use to measure things), and we say the ruler is changing its size every xyz years, .. should it mean that we re-design the numbers on the ruler? Or does the ruler still represent the "truth" because it's just a certain form of application. This is a philosophical question :)
If the Sky changes then the re-design should be done. I see on MtZ’s calculator you can date it a maximum of 5,000 years, BC or AD. The constellations are the same size but the Sun relocates to different Signs. An example.. June 18, 5000 BC the Sun is Leo... and June 18, 5000 AD the Sun is in Aries. I would believe the constellations probably change size (or such) every so many tens of thousands of years or so... So if the MasteringTheZodiac website exists 100,000 years from now it would show us!

I've been studying Vedic Astrology for a bit, and am always looking for what actually IS in the sky (which is why I'm studying Vedic...), but now I'm looking at this instead of the 30° delineation. But my program (Kala) doesn't seem to have an option to use the actual sizes of the constellations. What a pain.

I'd be game to delve more into sidereal astrology but I know for a fact that my natal north node belongs in Cancer and not Gemini which sidereal puts it in. I wish it was in Gemini. However, I have to concentrate on Cancer for where I'm heading, and I'm already a Gemini Rising with a Gemini EP in tropical so I'm well acquainted with how Gemini is. Reading about Gemini is just confirmation about myself and how I truly am but it is in no way the life path I'm on and I'm almost 60, so I know this for sure. Sidereal has me as a Taurus rising but there is no way that can be the case for me. I am ultra-Gem and Mercury is definitely my chart ruler. I only have Hades in Taurus in Tropical which makes sense for me.
I'd much rather have my natal stellium, which includes my natal Sun, in Aquarius than in Pisces as well, the way sidereal shows it, but alas, I am super Piscean and anyone who knows me and my life would agree. There is just no question about that as I have two other personal planets, plus natal wounded/healer Chiron all conjunct each other in Pisces, and I am on that Virgo/Pisces Jesus trip.
It's too bad because I like the idea of sidereal. It does seem to be more logical and naturally legitimate, but it's just not ringing true for me.

I just reread what I wrote and checked what I had said with my sidereal chart in astrotheme right now and it doesn't show me as a Taurus rising at all, but everything else I had said was right.
My sidereal natal chart actually has me as a 0* Gemini and I did say I am ultra-Gem. You can't get anymore ultra than 0*, that's for sure.
Also, since I had written that comment 7 months ago, I've used my sidereal chart along with my natal tropical chart and I'm finding that the 2 blended together really do describe me and the path I'm on, including NN in Gemini in the sidereal.
I'm figuring out that astrology works like quantum physics and mechanics and that's how both sidereal and tropical can be true at the same time.
Think of it as a blend.

Jade Sol Luna mentioned that the Stars of “UttaraBhadra” and “Revati” (which are located in Pisces) are very energetic like an Aries. Vedic astrologers believe These Stars(Nakshatras) say a lot more about us than the constellations.
