Did a 2960 mi trip from New England with a 2020 450 King Ranch towing a 21K DRV Mobile Suite 5th Wheel. The trip included Rte.80 thru Pa & Ohio,Rte 71to Rte65 into Bowling Green Kentucky, then Rte 40 to Memphis Tennessee then all the way back to Dollywood /Pigeon Forge area. The last leg off the trip was up Rte 81 to Scranton Pa area.If anyone is familiar with these road their's plenty of long grades. This truck was a Animal!! I ran the truck in cruise @ 65 , as much as possible, there wasn't, one hill it would't climb in 10th gear, the only time it got out of 10th was if I got bogged down by a couple of big rigs side by side on the steep grades. Unbelievable low end torque ! 1850 rpms @ 65 just grunts up the hills, very impressive!

the Old 7.3 TURBO IDI ( NON POWERSTROKE) was the Most durable Diesel engine EVER put in a Ford truck. (The 4.9 liter, 300 inline 6 was the most reliable, Durable Gasoline engine for ford trucks BTW) No computers and mechanical Injectors can run on cooking oil..The 7.3 Powerstroke is number 2. The Scorpion powered 6.7 is certainly king of the hill and number 1 for power...But Number 3 for long term reliability..and if you accidentally let your wife put Gas in it, you just ate a 7k dollar pump. Ford Man always.. former Ford Tech....Ive owned them all. The 6.0 I had Was the Biggest POS ever created. I think it was worse than the 6.4 stock which was a 100k mile motor at best.

The new 2020 Ford is a beautiful pickup in all the areas you said. Please pay attention to the Transmission temperature rise and the lack of recovery too slow to recover. Also the new 2020 7.3 gas with the 10 speed runs way too hot and recovers way too slow.

Nice rig! The one thing I like about Ford is you don’t need to configure the truck a certain way to get the hp and Tq. The big 3 are producing products that have longevity now. It’s the cost when things do break is the difference. But I think all make good heavy duty trucks and it’s all personal preference.

Crazy, right? Idk if they just leave less on the table like older diesels could get out with a tuner or they're still capable of making a lot more but jesus lol. They have to really pull back the accelerator pedal response to lessen drivetrain wear but if you ask for it, it's there. Especially in higher gears.

I've always loved the blue oval. I'm a Hot Shot driver and I've been waiting for Ford to put a great VGT turbo in their trucks but, Cummins has the best. The reason why I'm saying that, is because I rode in the new 2020 F350 with the exhaust brake all the way on, loaded with a trailer and I didn't feel that it was working. The guy told me it was all the way on. When I get in my 2011 Ram 3500 and turn my exhaust brake on, it will almost slide you to the steering wheel but, loaded I can still feel it slowing me down so much that have to touch the accelerator to momentarily shut it off. So my question is, why has Ford not put up better turbo on yet? I feel that this is a major selling point for guys like me that love Ford but, won't buy one because of that factor.

Paul there is nothing wrong with the factory 10w 30. Change your oil often. I’ve put hundreds of thousands on the 6.7 with motorcraft 10w 30.

I'm sure the Motorcraft 10W30 diesel oil is decent, but considering it cost just as much as the Shell Rotella T6 5W40 full synthetic for a gallon at Walmart, I think the 5W40 would be the smart choice. They both are CK4 and meet the Ford's oil specification.

@@thoroughbreddiesel if I still had my dyno I would. Some things that will help are lower the high rpm in the test window. Mustangs are always reading within the test window that's why your graph is unreadable, you came back down in rpm so it reads the tq and hp on decel giving you multiple readings for the same rpm. I find that using a mph test scale is easier to setup. Also your hp@30 seems off, but I am not certain, that controls the eddy current load scaling through the vehicle speed. Last is the vehicle weight, it looked like 17500, I am pretty sure that is too high. That causes extra EC load, heat and vehicle strain, but does help cover up a lower than correct hp@30 number and doesn't hurt the hp and tq numbers. Give it a try, you will like the results.
