My dad is a Vietnam Vet. I know that look Dutch got on his face when Hannible asked that question, the entire atmosphere changed for a minute or two. Good call getting back to wrestling.
My dad retired from the Army and yeah thats one thing you want to avoid talking about anything in the military
Not a good idea to ask about the most traumatic time of their lives .
Sending young men to war is not good. They should get older guy's and get them fit ,they would be more able to handle it ,even having older guys as Cooks or drivers would be helpful to settle the young bucks out ,but fi5 45 year Olds would be more useful than a 19 year old less likely to panic. If a war was going on and my 25 year old son was called up I'd go down and try and take his place . Because he is soft never lived hard ,iv got more skills, iv hunted and kill3d animals he can't kill a goat, let alone a man I could if I had to and I can drive machines trucks and dozers and loaders, skills required for war ,our a4my trains people to do this but 5he machines have low hours on them so they can't be trained that much? I'd be more an asset to the a4my than a kid I'd ne3d to get fit and lose weight but I'd get in5o that as soon as war started
This guy is well-spoken, full of different stories, and very honest. Makes for an easygoing interview and great conversation.
This is the best one since Sullivan! Great work Devon and Dutch!
Dutch was one of my AOL buddies when I was a teenaged wrestling fan while he was booking in Puerto Rico. I wish I knew at the time what a treasure trove of history I had at my disposal. Was always a nice guy though.
How did he become one of your AOL buddies?
Yeah, how'd he become one of your AOL buddies
@@AdrianSmith-ds6yvWrestler screen names would get around for guys that liked talking to fans. Steve Corino was another one, he was easy to get in touch with on AIM when he was bored in Japan. Super nice guy.
i always love watching shoot interviews. very cool. thanks.
Great interview, best 3 hours I’ve heard in a long time 👏
Top quality shoot...as usual. Dutch is a great interviewee, so much knowledge and life experience. A proper salty veteran
That was worth every commercial. Thank 3.
I loved Dutch in SMW, best color guy ever.
Only 7 minutes in and Dutch is telling 100% truth about War and this country. What those men and women are put through “defending” a country who wont even give them proper psychological care and resources once they’re done is just sick. If you just research how much this country spends on military and war, then look at how we live as a people...disgusting. I agree with Dutch here, researching that aspect of gov’t,media etc totally opens your eyes to the greed and malice of the “powers that be”.
Dutch is swesome. If I were a wrestler I would keep him as my manager. What a wealth of knowledge he is.
Always loved Dutch as a kid, went to middle school with his daughter
Thanks again Hannibal!
I have both of his books, must read material for any old school fan.
Another great shoot! Loved Dutch back in the Memphis territory! Texas Dirt!
Dutch Mantell's moustache deserves its own monument somewhere in Tenessee. What a tasche!
his moustache has its own moustache.

oh no it's that relative again
@@robinhoodproductionsltd.1633
What, do you mean it's "Oh simitty Sam?"
Absolutely heartbreaking what happened to Dutchs family. As a British wrestling fan, I didn't see Dutch wrestle until youtube came along, but I used to enjoy his articles in WOW magazine. I wasn't sure if it was even a real wrestler or a character Bill Apter invented but I was entertained reading them every month. Dutch is awesome.
Thank you Hannibal - you’re the best! Great interview.
imagine in an alternate universe, a supercard was put together featuring wrestlers alive, and ones that have passed on, by wwe, aew, and njpw. And the wrestlemania was booked Dutch Mantell, Pat Patterson, and Eddie Graham.
great interview
Damn good one @Hannibal
Thanks
@@TheHannibalTV luv ya Big Man your one of my favorite performers dude👊🏿💯
Another great interview.
Very good interview with Dutch he just keeps on going and going
Hannibal ,makes it really easy to understand his nterviews I learned a lot about my favorite wrestlers through him .
Dutch should be in the hall of fame..
Greatest bad guy ever.. Booker etc etc Dutch is awesome
Great video Devon! I love your shoot interviews. You are the best on you tube when it comes to interviewing wrestlers.
Great Interview always liked dutch when I was a kid. And never knew he was from my hometown walhalla SC. Now.my mind is blown.
Any news or what it will be called what Dutch described as "Dark Tales of the Ring/Snapped" in 2019...Sounds eerie
Have you been watching it on VICE???
Tom Renesto commonly gets called Assassin #1 mainly because he did the talking for the team . However , it was originally Jody Hamilton was the first Assassin in Texas in response to the Assassination of President Kennedy . Talk about heat . He later teamed with Renesto as the Assassins and when they went to the Carolinas they began to call themselves The Bolos because Renesto had worked the territory with that gimmick years before .
Its hard to imagine Jody Hamilton not being good on the mike but he was once called Silent Joe Hamilton .
I think that Desperados gimmick in WCW was based on Blazing Saddles. That's the movie Dusty Rhodes must have watched
Never ever ask a veteran if they seen combat....bad question
Dutch mantel is a awesome wrestling legend and the best wrestling mind. I would like to meet him and hear lots of stories about the cwa and uswa and Smoky mountain wrestling.
I actually saw Eddie Graham and Jerry Graham wrestler Rocca and maybe Ricky Starr
In an outdoor show in Connecticut in the late 50’s .
The drove in a Lincoln Continental just in front of us.
We talked to them a they were friendlier than Rocca..
My Favorite Booker in the wrestling Business, hey Dutch im trying to grow a beard like yours cause its cool!
It all doesn't add up. Brody wasn't halfway across the stadium. He was less than 20 FEET from a group of guys who did nothing, and now claim they didn't know how badly he was hurt.
Sounds again to me like a bunch of guys decided to "mind their own business" and let Frank die. Period.
Yeah they are going over matches while a man is dying
How is dutch/zeb in person I always wanted to go to signings and stuff but it's hard when they are here and not having the money
You continue to amaze me with your interviews. I'd love to see you sit down with Ron Fuller, I think the two of you could knock it out of the park.
I'm sure we will eventually. You're not the first person who has asked for him.
Ian will just lie about everything. Can you shoot break his legs and arms for being a cancer on the business?
Upload full of Simon dean
I was a big fan of Dutch back in the late 70s and early 80s. I would go to Lexington Lexington Ky to Rupp arena and lots other places in Kentucky.
Thank you, Dutch for you service. God bless our Vietnam vets
I remember watching dutch mantel in georgia with gordon solie
I am Dutch and I like Dutch…
Awesome interview bud. Can anyone tell me what years it was Dutch booked Tna?
dutch is such an awesome storyteller great great interview
My favourite wrestler growing was the Cuban Assassin. Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling was cool.
I can watch Dutch for three hours easy. But wwe programming losss me after twenty minutes
Dutch,Jim Cornette and Jim Ross best three minds still living.
True, although Jerry Lawler deserves his credit too, he was the guy who came up with The Rock and Roll Express' gimmick
100% agree. I would also add Ron Fuller and Bruce Pritchard to make it 5. Not everyone will agree with me about Bruce, but Undertaker is my all time favorite and Mark never would have been brought in had Bruce not pressured Vince.
Jim Ross?? Okay…
Is this Dutch from Red Dead Redemption 2?
I knew it was not on the up and up as a kid too . I liked the drama and psychology , though I didn't know that was what it was called .
Dutch Zeb Colter Mantel aka Dirty Dutch Mantell should make his own documentary
It does beg the question, how bad a shot was Eddie Graham
Glamour Boy Shane Sewell was a huge star in Puerto Rico for WWC, and IWA. He is a great talent and WWE missed the boat on never signing him.
Anti SJW gorilla monsoon didn't want him in WWF
His tag partner Shawn Morley got hired by WWF. I think he was equally good, but was half a foot shorter. That's probably what doomed him.
I watched Undertaker starting out in Illinois for Bulldog Brad Davis in CIW.Central Illinois Wrestling. As the Commando
Dutch is a class act.
Is he wearing his wedding band on his middle finger like Archie Bunker? So apropos
Dutch had more hair on his back then a bear skin rug. I couldn’t imagine having to wrestle him. Be like wrestling a big sweaty Sasquatch.
Hannibal I think u may have been asked this question but I'm going to: do you think the wrestlers were better off under the old territory system before Vince took the WWF national?
does anyone know if dutch's run in iwa pr is anywhere online?
@Andy Raye Dutch Mantell IWA Puerto Rico Wrestling Video http:://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2t7yas
Trust me dutch I know! I remember tip toeing around poppey fields in Afghanistan so we didn't harm the crop
The original Glow from the late 80s?
You need to get Cornette on here Hannibal.
He's said no 3 times so I've given up on that.
@@TheHannibalTV I wonder why he refused? You are the best out there as far as shoots are concerned.
He said because he only wants to do stuff for his own Podcast/Channel
@@TheHannibalTV ok
27:00 Dutch talks about Puerto Rico run.
How am I able to watch this for free??? Lol
please put all cellphones on vibrate!!!!!!
Did he hit a bong first 30 seconds
108 N. ALBANY ST .
Sorry Dutch...As a Quebec resident myself, I know we can be assholes...So I (as a more english that french) Canadian, apologise on behalf of my less respectful countrymen
Hi
Why did the interview get edited right after he says they owed him alot of money? Strange! Lolol
who owed him?
Make them think that their ideas are like every boss or at least it is like that in our workplace.
IM ON A DIRT ROAD
Eddie Graham's father, son and grandson all killed themselves too. That's 4 straight generations. The great grandson is currently making arrangements just to keep the streak alive.
In other Brody testimonies the heels were in a separate dressing room from the faces, and people said Dutch was down the hall when it happened
I was with him until he took credit for the Blade Runners. Watts gave them that name, and Helliwig was in UWF with Sting, then went to Dallas.
it would be awesome if you could interview Vince McMahon probably never will happen but keep trying and you will get your wwe career one day
I want to go to New Japan Pro Wrestling not WWE I hate their product and choreographed style, scripted promos ect.
Yeah week is really getting bad I'm surprised that they are still in business new Japan has some really good talent and style of wrestling more traditional than wwe hope you get to were you need to be
@@TheHannibalTV I went to a WWE houseshow recently, and there was some kids who were maybe 3rd graders and were laughing at the wrestlers, and calling it fake. Scott Keith on his Blog of Doom website gave a recap, which is a pretty accurate summary of what went down. I know he gets maligned sometimes for his writing style, which isn't totally serious, but when he does get serious, his content can be actually good to read, and it's not just pro wrestling, but other forms of entertainment like other sports.
It wouldn’t work. The only interview Vince has ever done in years was on his own network. He had full control of it. He has no control here. Thanks for making Raw free flowing fun interviews Hannibal
@@redrock717 Costas inter iewed him and Vince made an ass of himself when Costas would not softball him . Vince cannot bear not being fully in control .
Anne gunkel was beautiful
"Everybody's named Jose in Puerto Rico."
Juan, Carlos, Miguel but most are Jose. Ha, ha, ha
Why isn't Dirrty Ditch on the creative team for WWE? Oh right, WWE has an uncreative team.
Well number one reason is Dutch is a booker not a writer 😂😂😂
Get some oil for that chair
Lawler and Jarrett always split up the book in 6 month increments. Lawler had his crew and Jarrett had his. Jarrett would either let Dundee or Dutch have the book
Mike Boyette worked the loser gimmick , too .
I like your channel but be careful about talking shit about one of the most strongest and greatest wrestling love fans in the world. The Puerto Rican people. 🇵🇷
I know your lived in PR for about 4 1/2 years. 🇵🇷😀
Jarrett got let go cuse of his mix with Karen
Dutch nowadays is such a wwe bootlicker, he pretty much kiss nepo baby mysterio and his horrid acting
Dutch ,Puerto Rico is NOT another country, its been an American commonwealth for like a century. It's the closest thing to an American state and Puerto Ricans are Americans.
PR and Guam are territories
Hart nearly cripples Austin ends up dead after a rigging failure ....hmmmm..
Owen never once apologised or spoke to Austin about that. Classless.
@@priestfan81 I agree . Getting unalived is not exact payback though
