- I wanted to keep things simple to give you guy an authentic view of Vietnam Street Food. So I captured authentic DOG MEAT COOKING in Vietnam - Crispy Roast BBQ Whole Dog - Street food in Vietnam 2023 for my first time. Dog meat in Vietnam often times requires scalding and scraping as it can be tough and needs to be cleaned - somewhat like scraping your tongue, which Asians have been doing since ancient times. Seriously, must try Vietnamese street food 2023. Crispy Roast BBQ Whole Dog is featured in this episode. It smell so good. With 10$, you can have a full meal of delicious Vietnamese street food.

Wish I could get this in the states. We waste so many dogs at kill shelters. If we cooked them than at least their death would have some value.
I wish we had a restaurant like this in the US, this is EXACTLY what should be done with all these vicious pitbulls clogging up the animal shelters. The dog nuts try to pawn those foul beasts off on families where they go on to attack people. We need a law diverting all fighting breeds coming into shelters to the slaughterhouses where they can be sold for meat. Dogs are stinky, obnoxious animals, I can't stand them and am disgusted by all these twentysomethings who are bringing them into my apartment complex. Who in their right mind would let an animal that stinks live inside their dwelling? These things are carcass scavangers that evolved to eat the waste of humans. They bring nothing but violence and disease. Eating them is good.

Can you also tell us about how the dogs are procured, for lack of better word--stray dogs, wild dogs, farmed? I ask only in open curiosity

It is similar to the flavor of beef.
I wouldn't say it tastes like beef, more like the taste of sheep. In my country it's often passed off as sheep in certain dishes by people who want to cut corners. You don't really tell the difference in taste but the smell is stronger and the meat a little tougher. Color, texture and even the way meat sort of separates in strings is almost identical between sheep, goat and dog
@@SomnusLucisCaelum Doesn't come close to tasting like sheep. Sheep is gamey and dog meat is not. Also the texture is very similar to beef and not lamb meat.

My limit is the doggies, man. I get it....we all get it.....different countries, different cultures etc. And I'm all about foraging and hunting, catch, clean, and cook. Im from South Carolina. I grew up fishing, hunting, eating deer, rabbit, squirrels, and even snapping turtles from the lake. But i dont think dogs were meant to be food. I mean, hey, show me a skewered guinea pig, rabbit, duck, chicken, pig......but this is just a no for me. I feel this is an animal that is a last resort for food. They'd be all muscle and tough and chewy anyway 😵💫 And after seeing how they torture them in the China dog market before killing to get the adrenaline and chemical dump into the meat!!!!! No thank you. I'd be worried these dogs arent humanely killed. If an animal is killed properly i say to each his own. I can slaughter an animal, but even i dont want to boil a lobster alive. I saw one of this channels videos where they ripped snails out of their shells alive and sauteed them alive. I find that pretty awful too. I dont have the heart for it.

Worrying about how they're killed is valid but as for what animals are "meant to be food," it's all arbitrary. Millions of people don't think deer or cows should be eaten, pigs are smarter than dogs yet slaughtered en masse. And with the state of factory farms in the States it's really rich to assume there's some humanitarian violation going on behind the scenes as most of the meat in your own country is produced so inhumanely the industry responsible for it has one of the highest suicide and turnover rates across all fields.
