Did they come in that color I assume because people don't belive 3000gts came midnight purple from factory only first gen the last generation came in pearl purple which is even rarer
The 3000GT I absolutely love! the only flaw about this car, is that it has huge understeer due to it being front heavy (60% of its weight in the front) and a rather heavy awd system is what made this car not so popular in street and track racing. I owned an MR, and the understeer was crazy on the track the thing just dosen't turn in the corners at high speed without sledging into a barrier, often had to break verry early before the corner and you really feel it's weight imbalance, I just did not like it on the track. Otherwise it was a fantastic car to daily drive verry comfortable and quick, power when you need it and surprisingly economical
@@pxzel The AWD system contributes to most of its weight, the engine placement is also imbalanced with that.. with your GTRs and such they have a more balanced weight ratio that's what really matters on the track. we did a lot of testing on the 3000gt stock
What kind of exhaust on the Z32? Thanks. Btw, the VR-4 is the forgotten JDM supercar. Everybody worships either the Skyline/GT-R, EVO, or STI's when it comes to JDM AWD goodness, but sadly forget about the GTO aka 3000GT!
Those who know these cars know what they're capable of even stock. I had a 1998 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4, ALL stock besides a K&N drop in, and ran consistent 13.3-13.4@103-104mph at the strip. Real JDM fans didn't forget the GTO; the GTO MR beat the R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R over a mile stock to stock..
@@goldstandardgrooms2156 If Mitsubishi took motorsports seriously, with its GTO, it could've achieved cult status like the R32-35. The Starion is another forgotten JDM legend. But sadly the USDM one used a truck motor (like the 240SX). A lot of people these days are pining for the 80s, early 90s JDM cars because they're part of the golden age of Japanese sports cars.

pretty sure the first gens have stock boost set lower than others too, iirc 9 as opposed to like 10-11 psi (though you can easily run them in the 14 range)
Two of the best cars to ever come out of Japan.
Agreed! 😀
Owned them both for years! Down to just the VR-4 now.
I need to get round to uploading some videos!!
Finding a clean stock looking midnight blue 300ZX on RUclips is difficult.

Interesting observations... thanks for the info... I haven't tracked it so Im not familiar with its flaws... other than its weight

Yep, they were terrible with their perpetual understeer when driven on track. Almost as bad as an Audi.
Two absolute legends

It’s a Tanabe
That’s fine with me… I prefer the design of the 3kgt over the other ones… it’s the sexiest 🤩

Z32 FTW
Of course. That 3kgt way too heavy
@@pxzel Z32s aren't so light either sadly haha
