- Last weekend we visited the wonderful Victoria Park in Widnes to run the Widnes parkrun. We took it east due to other racing commitments, but saw why it is ranked the 9th fastest course in the UK.
It also happens to be a wonderful park to visit, and we are so grateful that parkrun encourages to visit these lovely places around the UK to run in.
Nice commentary, hello from Aberdeen.
Hello and thank you. 😊
Love the humour john 😀
A little sardonic...😅
Looks beautiful that park so it does
Indeed, so it is, so it is. 😁
Ah, I was there too on tour as my 198th different and NENDY! I thought I saw you warming up, but then didn't see you near the front of the start line...you can see me in the 100V teeshirt. Was certainly a quick course, was going for 21min as easy as possible with low heart rate, and still ended up a bit quicker!
Well done on your 198th different parkrun and your low HR run. Good when your HR gives you a faster time than you expected. 🙂
On the 31st, I was at my local park run at Trentham Memorial Park, Upper Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand. We had a competition going for people to guess how many people might attend the 1000th in Bushy Park, UK.
I wonder if anyone guessed over 6000...😁
Silent Widnes 😂😂 Great work, John!
Thought you'd appreciate it. 🙂
Great video thank you. I visited Widnes Parkrun back in February when my partner was working in Warrington. I am so glad I did. It was beautiful and I ran under 26 minutes for the first time since Parkrun re-started post covid. I was delighted. If you have a 5k plan I could use to help me get back to some faster Parkruns that would be great, or even a video covering some plans\tips for improving 5k, especially 4-8 week plans. THANK YOU! #keeponkeepingon
Thanks, Dee. We'll done on getting back under 26 mins. If you look through our back videos, there are a couple on how to improve 5k times.
@@tworunningbrooms thank you very much appreciate it. Keep up the fantastic running folks 😊
Ran my first age graded 80% 5k at Widnes last September.🏃♂💨
It's my nearest fast parkrun, but I only tend to go when I'm running well and feeling good. It's a good 3 mile warm up because I refuse to pay to cross the bridge 🌉😉😂. Not sure I'm in 80% shape at the moment, but in a few weeks I maybe, but I might go tomorrow after watching this...
Yes, we had to pay a few times crossing the bridge...😅 Good luck if you do go!
@@tworunningbrooms Update: 19:11 and that according to the parkrun website is 80.8%, but 79.97% using another calculator. Not sure if I should take it.🤔 I will take first V55 though.😀 keep on keeping on 👍
Widnes, Warrington and St Helens parkruns all start and end in parks called Victoria Park.
Must have been a trending name in the late Victorian period 😉
Just spotted Crewe is in Queen's Park, Victoria Avenue.
