@@KyleTsuchiya Hey so this may be a stupid questions but lets say a show starts at 4:30pm but you want to watch the lots tell 6:00, are they going to close the gate on you or will they lets you in even past the time?
Back in my day we had to paint our own field and were luck if it even had grass and not mud or potholes. Do drum corps even march when it rains anymore?
yes, drum corps still paint their own fields to rehearse on. yes, there is often mud and potholes (as well as fire ant hills and thistles). yes, we still march when it rains. please stop saying "back in your day" as if today's members do not work as hard as you did.
No one said they don't work as hard sir. It's different....the moves and the athleticism is amazing now days. But there are some differences. Gbugles were harder to play and required tuning even during shows to some degree. Some days for rehearsal we would only get 4 hours of sleep before it was time to getting to work. I understand there are actual athletic type trainers now on staffs that see to it that the corps get ample amounts of sleep. Which is a good thing. And I have seen today's buses....all with comfy seats and AC. The only ones to have the luxury was Star and Phantom. Wondering if you guys even use the restrooms on those buses now days. We were not and often had contra bass bells in ours. And you haven't lived until the corp is out of money for the last month due to unforeseen fuel prices going sky high and and breakdowns and the only thing left to eat for that month is peanut butter and beans(1996 VK...I wasn't there but had friends that lived it). He said it was so bad that they actually had to cancel rehearsal for two days because they were stuck and held a car wash to pay for a broken down bus to be fixed in Nebraska. DCI now has fixes in places to prevent such problems but it's way way different now. If there was lightning and thunder, we were out in it....they don't allow them to be out in it today for safety reasons. And that is a good thing. It's really hard to compare. The activity has evolved. Nothing wrong with that. Traditions with some things like shakos, aussies, and helmets I will miss visually on the field. They had to go to enable more body movements for the demands of the show. I am good with that to as I appreciate the new effort to move. However I wouldn't mid seeing some classic wear at retreats and parades and other such events. Things that gave some corps their identity's we have come to love.
9:04 A+ editing for the missed shots.
Ha, thank you. Zach is very good at a lot of things, but left shots are not one of them

What snare line is that at 2:09?
A mix between the bluecoats tenor and bass line. They all switch drums on finals day rehearsal for a flam jam
What do the pennies represent?
That you are a alumni of a corps and you share a bond with tons of other people that have marched that same place
Last guys _technically_ right.
Penny = a year with the corps
"In the middle of nowhere, Wisconsin" I got a kick out of that
