So far I've used this cooker twice. Once I made Bacon, Eggs and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches! It took noticeably longer to cook the Bacon Vs. on the outdoor model. It still tasted good but not as good. The grilled cheese sammies were delicious and I noticed no difference to speak of but the Eggs were super hard to flip because of the slippery surface. I also made Sliders from hand made Burger Patties. They tasted awesome and were easy to do but were not as good as when I do them outside, yet they definitely tasted better than using a frying pan, so there's that. The cooker is easy to clean and the top APPEARS to be something that will last assuming it's cleaned properly and used properly WITHOUT METAL UTELCILS. There are noticeable hot spots right in the very center area of the cooker top. It's to a point that you really need to move things around to equal out cook time and searing. It's not hard to do but I wish it wasn't that much of a difference. In the coming weeks, I'll do some experiments to see if I can increase the searing capability. So far, I'm not really impressed. That's all for now, check back here often!
I have had the 17" version for about 8 months and love mine. I am in Wisconsin and I understand the cold, but I still use and store mine at my outdoor kitchen. One of my favorite things to create on it is Fried Rice. You can get so creative and add whatever you have for leftovers in the fridge and mix it all together and have deliciuos food. I use frozen Cauliflower Rice (walmart brand for 1.97) instead of cooking up abunch of rice.
Lol well I did spend a lot of time with my grandfather as a kid so I’m sure that’s got something to do with it. “Holy cripes” “fur Christ sake” lol 😂 those are a few I’ve heard tens of thousands of times lol.
I'm in Illinois as well, have a 3 year old and newborn so time is limited and it always rains when I get a chance to cook outside, I picked up the 17 e and have used it multiple times a week, well worth the money for simpleness and cleanup

got the 17" a few days back and I can tell you it sears Steaks and burgers just fine !! and what you'll really come to appreciate is the easy clean up. Just wipe it off..... Best wishes Mike... Love your channel !
yes it feels clean when you just wipe it, however, what kind of fabric/thing you use to wipe, and from a hygiene perspective is there is some cases where you need to wash it with water and soap? thank you
I bought this product during the middle of a long roadtrip in my camper, with the idea of using it to make my family things like pancakes, smashburgers, etc. I purchased this in Westminster CO at an ACE Hardware, and am now about 200 miles away trying to use it for the first time. It won't even hardly cook pancakes on it, and simply putting the batter on the flattop instantly drops the temperature. When it tries to raise the temperature back up, the flat top shuts off and then turns itself back on. Next I tried some thin turkey bacon. After 30 minutes of this, and the grill shutting down and restarting 6 times, I eventually threw the bacon out. Given that I bought this on a road trip, I called Blackstone to try and remedy. After waiting on the phone for nearly 30 minutes to talk to someone, I was told they couldn't do anything and my only option was to turn around and drive 200 miles back to return it. This is an appalling customer experience, and after reading reviews on various places, it seems like this product is just fundamentally flawed and multiple people having this issue. I will never buy a Blackstone product again. Crap products and a crap company.
Great video! Just discovered your channel a couple weeks ago and love it! Cookin up some steak, onion, peppers, and broccoli in cast iron and thought of you and your channel!😄
We've used this griddler for a variety of items including steak, fish, vegetables ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMcXT6_MuT0hB3ejyGQQHaeof9bwoWPUf and mushrooms and it's been great! Gets that great smokey flavor when using high heat or sear. The grill works amazingly simple and very low smoke for what it is. Heat gets up fairly quick, especially on closed position. The griddler side is fairly simple, better for eggs and pancakes rather than any cooking. Use the flat plates with the grill side if needed.Cleanup is easy and having heat on both sides is great for cooking a large amount or panini press. This definitely gets hot though so be careful with the sides.
I have a propane Blackstone for tailgating that flames-out if you look at it the wrong way. I'll swap it for this beauty as long as the outlet in my truck bed can power it. Love the ceramic, looking forward to seeing more.
Have the Black Stone propane 4 burner early model were the grease drain is out front. Going to add metal to correct that. Regulator went bad went to propane dealer got a adjustable regulator like a turkey deep fryer to get more heat. Was told 2 to 2 1/2 on numbers regulator max. Really brought it to life. Had a rally for union hall. 250 hot dogs and 200 hamburger in about 1hr. Dogs about 30 at a time just rolled back and forth with a spatula. Burgers got a nice crust then flipped just unreal how a little more heat did the job. Tilted griddle with wood under the wheels to aid on grease removal. That setting on regulator was with all burners wide open big difference you can turn down the individual burners. You don't want or need the burners roaring like jet probably not end up good you can overheat burners use common sense ( hard thing to find nowadays) understand manufacturing company protecting themselves but it solved underperformance of the regulator which was probably going bad.
Hey new subscriber here! Just purchased this 22 inch E Series Griddle and was surfing around looking at videos related to it and stumbled across your channel. Looks very interesting and I look forward to watching your channel regularly!! 👍🏼🍻
i got mine 6 months ago. still havent got it set up yet waiting till kitchen is done so i dont mess it up. cant wait to see what you cook on yours and how it turns out
Love your closing "I'll see you on the next episode". So... First - I totally love Blackstone! - The Non-stick care warning should actually apply to any non-stick surface - NO METAL. Living up here in "cold" Canada, I have tried and tested a number of indoor grilling options - who doesn't "urn for a burger" in Feb? Needless to say, grilling anything indoors with fat in it, or added to it, is going to cause enough "smoke" to set off your interior home smoke sensors. Solutions include placing the grill on top of your stove and cranking the hood fan to MAX - also, upgrading the hood fan to a more powerful unit will help (400+ CFM). Opening a window will also help, but at -20 this will also cause your furnace to kick in. :) - Bah!
It honestly seems to produce more of a steam than smoke. Of course, it will take a while to really determine if there are issues caused from using it in an area without an exhaust fan. Overall I think it’s good for what it is but I see many people wish it was better. I’ll reserve final judgement until I’ve got a few more cooks under my belt.
Great review! I'm in Central Illinois and these windy winters can be tough with propane griddles. Love that I can just use this in the garage out of the elements.
I was thinking of using my 22" propane griddle in small shed with the door open (wide motorcycle entry door), but concerned about carbon monoxide, so this might be the way to go.
Great review!👍 Going to see how it cooks on your next video. Incidentally, when you mentioned the smashburgers, it doesn't dry up the burgers that way?
If someone releases a steel griddle for the e Series, it would be great! I think the titanium bleeds off heat too fast. Pancakes don't do nearly as well as on the gas series. Steel is able to live longer than the fangled "non-stick" which eventually fails. Steel lasts darn near forever!
I heard about the e series a few weeks ago myself. I was going to go get one but then seen you were going to review it. So far I'm impressed but Im going to wait and see how your cooks go....but then again if it's good enough for Mike it's probably good enough for me.
Lol well I’ve used it a couple times now. It’s not as good as cooking on the outdoor model, mainly cause of the different griddle top material. Cold rolled steel is definitely better for flavor and sear. This is better than a frying pan though so it’s still very nice to use!
Just came across this as I recently got the outdoor Blackstone and love the idea of having one inside and just having options. The one thing that kind of made me laugh and really didn’t see anyone in the comments mention is that this says it goes up to 500° but then you have the 3 piece griddle kit that says, Heat resistant up to 400°”. So what would you use if you were cooking over the 400°? Lol
@@EverydayBBQ thanks for taking the time to reply and figured it prob wouldn’t get to 500°. Was still a little funny. Thanks again and for the great content!
The griddle on mine slides back and forth and wobbles. Mine is in place but still slides and wobbles. I'm currently using a quarter on each side wedged under each foot.
Heating elements are strong enough. Takes forever to hit 500 (20 minutes) and when you add stuff to the griddle it drastically drops temperatures and takes forever to get back up. I am not the only person that says this, look at all the reviews. Blackstone needs to recall all of these until they get stronger elements.
One thing I am not hearing anything about is when you close the top and re-open it where does all the condensation run-off when the lid it open? Is there gutter than then diverts it into the greece tray?
At first glance this looks like a good idea, but the steel griddle seems to be the magic in the propane version. I can't convince myself this is any better than cooking on a griddle pan on my kitchen's cooktop. ???
I bought this about 6 months ago. Youre right about the bacon. But I notice if i cook it on high it good great. I also fixed salmon. And the wife always fish pancakes on it.
I’ve done a few cooks on it now. I definitely like it. It’s certainly not the same as the outdoor model but it’s good enough to get the job done and I have only a few things I’ve noticed. I’ll do a full review soon.
Can I ask a favor...I'm trying to see if the 22" will fit in my RV OR if I'll have to go down to the 17" option. Can you measure the feet (W and L) ...from foot to foot. The dimensions on their website is for the whole thing & I don't need the measurements for the edges. The more the info the better & even pics from how/where you measured from. I appreciate your time.😊🙏
I legit just snagged the Walmart deal for $117 for the Adventure ready propane version BUT I may get the 17" e-series for the exact reason you bought your new unit. About to get cold here really soon
How did you end up liking the griddle? I am thinking of getting one for indoor use when I do not feel like using the outdoor griddle. Is it worth the money with the ceramic top? Wish they made it steel. Thanks
How was the smoke? that's my only concern doing bacon or burgers on this inside you're gonna smoke the kitchen out or have the place smelling like bacon (which for me is a bonus, my wife not so much) lol
Lol well I’ve only used it twice so far but there have been no lasting effects and honestly I’d say it’s more of a steam than a smoke. The griddle top is like cooking on a non stick frying pan but slightly better. It’s not nearly as good for sear and flavor as the outdoor cold rolled steel tops.
Good initial review Mike. Only thing I see that raises a red flag to me is the nonstick coating. My wife has given up on nonstick coating pans and went back to good ole cast iron, so far every one of them has eventually started to peel off. Will watch for a longer term review in the future. Thanks for sharing.
Sure wish they'd come up with a stainless steel or cast iron pan instead of the non-stick. Until then I'll keep using my Lodge griddle pan, I use it everyday.
The no metal tools is kind of a deal breaker for me. Isn’t that the best part about a griddle?! I want to be able to cut up steak, veggies, etc without the need for a separate cutting board.
Sorry but I really didn’t like it good enough to film with it. I didn’t want to do it just for views. I don’t like the heating element especially. My frying pans sear better.
I was going to purchase But I saw videos on them, I wasn't impressed with the outcome of the searing, too bad though I wanted one but didn't satisfy need or use for it.
The searing is definitely not as good but I’m going to experiment with a few things and see if I can find a good way to help that. It also has warmer and cooler spots. The center area of the griddle top is noticeably hotter than the rest.
I think the weak spot is going to be the cooking surface, I don't think it will hold up well. Why they couldn't make it out of steel or cast is beyond me other than woman folks may not want to clean that & they figure this will sell better!
Lol so far it’s not bad. I can’t speak for longevity but I can say it cleans easy and gives good flavor, better than a frying pan but not as good as the cold rolled steel on the outside version.
Sorry the cooking surface is a deal breaker. They should have just made it out of cast iron. I know it needs to be portable but they could have made the cast iron as thin as this.
How expensive is this with everything that you purchased please let me know thank you very much this would be good for a camper trailer on those rainy days thank you again
Junk. Just returned mine. Buy a $30 electric griddle. It's better. The design is nice but as soon as you place food on it you lose your temp and it never regains.
After using it for a bit, I’m not super impressed. It works fine, but I don’t think it’s worth anywhere near what they charge for it. It’s just a big non-stick frying pan that doesn’t get hot enough.
Garbage..I have the 22" version.. After using the griddle for 3 heavy cooks (about 10 steaks each cookout).. The griddle shuts down by itself every 5 minutes after about 5 to 10 minutes of cook time....These are total garbage.. I can do better with a cheap countertop electric skillet..
Hey bro , live in an apartment complex and propane is banned but electric permitted …. Burgers dogs cheesesteaks no problem ? Just curious thanks … looking for the best option before Memorial Day .
It’s not a bad option, but it doesn’t get anywhere near as hot as the outdoor version. It also has many hot and cold spots. The heating element design was not well done.
@@EverydayBBQ much appreciated my friend . Thank you ….. in between that and the char broil e infrared … just have to step up and get a property of my own would be the better solution lol

Oh & I forgot to say its very easy to easy
👍👍👍👍
Why not just use a pan?
Where the fun in that?
I think the weak spot is going to be the cooking surface, I don't think it will hold up well. Why they couldn't make it out of steel or cast is beyond me other than woman folks may not want to clean that & they figure this will sell better!
Lol so far it’s not bad. I can’t speak for longevity but I can say it cleans easy and gives good flavor, better than a frying pan but not as good as the cold rolled steel on the outside version.
If it was cast iron yep. I don't need a disposable appliance.
Sorry the cooking surface is a deal breaker. They should have just made it out of cast iron. I know it needs to be portable but they could have made the cast iron as thin as this.
I’m not in love with it anyway, it just doesn’t get hot enough for me. It works, but they could have done better honestly.
How expensive is this with everything that you purchased please let me know thank you very much this would be good for a camper trailer on those rainy days thank you again
They don't cook as good as the gas Blackstone but for cooking inside it is better then nothing!!!!!
You hit the nail square on the head, Kdogg! My words exactly.
As long as it doesn't have a magnetic power cord...Do not care for that
Way too pricey.
This grill has very poor engineering, as soon as you put food on this thing it drops temperature and never recovers....
All in good time, my friend. Good luck to you. Just make sure you use your cooking to show love and bring people together. Cheers 🍻
Very nice thanks
