My father was a Green Beret in Korea thank you all forgiving us our freedom and for the younger generation that doesn't know how hard you fought God bless you all
I wasn't a Green Beret but I served with some from the 5th Special Forces Group in Vietnam! Served with MAAG 1960 and MACV 1962. I am a proud Screaming Eagle who served in the ODuce 101st Airborne Division!
All I can say is Beautiful Song that I have heard over many years! A tribute to some of America's greatest fighting forces. I only can just salute you, and bless all that serve.
I retired from the Army, and had the honor to have served with men that had been in the Green Berets. Most of them had been re-assigned because they were not physically able to continue with the rigors and physical demands it took to stay with the Green Berets because of an injury, but they were still Green Berets. I went through basic training a couple of years after Vietnam right out of high school. My uncle who is a Vietnam vet along with several friends and family who were WWII, Korea and Vietnam vets told me if I ever had to go to a combat zone to look for the guys who had a patch on their right shoulder and had a Ranger or Special Forces tab and to hang around them as much as I could and learn all I could because they had been there, done that and knew what to do. My supervisor in the unit I retired from was a former Green Beret, and I learned A LOT from him, Thanks Bobby. I always have had, still do and always will have the UTMOST RESPECT for the Green Berets and all the Spec Ops guys, some of the greatest people I have ever had the honor and privilege to meet. God Bless You All.
When I was 14 yrs I remember when the United States soldiers were over in Vietnam fighting a war to keep us free ,safe . I thank each ,everyone who fought over to protect us . I know there so many soldiers who lost their lives over there . To the families, friends, other people who knew each of the soldiers I send my deepest sympathies to all of you for the people you lost .
" a war to keep us safe" from what? The USA and it allies lost cos they were too scared of China..just like Korea and still today. Stop the USA is the greatest drivel. They lack guts and drive. Just full of crap and bravado.
@@sg3596 I believe , Darling Steve , it was a Democratic Administration at that time. They were too afraid to unleash the dogs of war out. What good is an Army - if you are too afraid to unleash ? IMO
@@sg3596 Tell that to the Vietnamese people that lived in South Vietnam and now live in the United States that it was for nothing. They were trying to stop the spread of communism and of course the liberals here weren't protesting war, they were protesting that we were fighting against a Communist government.
@@dannystranahan1004 oh Danny, if you knew some history, the USA and allies helped the Communists during WWII. The USA supported Ho Chi Minh. Then they had to fight the hand they fed. Similar to the Mujahadeen (sp) in Afghanisatn. In Vietnam, if Johnson and McNamara had some balls they could have won it but they lacked those.
I remember this because a relative of mine was killed over there . When they brought him back to his home town they had a close casket . I seen what losing a son done to his relatives . Ouch I hurt like they did . When they were at the cemetery they had the 21 gun salute . Each ,every time they fire the shots into the air I positively jumped . It scared me . I had never ever seen it before like that . May all the soldiers from world war 1,world war 2 ,every other war rest in peace.

There are some problems with this video. The HALO badge shown at 29 seconds is not even American much less associated with Special Forces. The Bow and Arrow scene at 57 seconds are NOT US Army troops of any type. Proper US Army Parachutist Badges are visible on Uniforms at 1:10, and again at 2:13 where a proper US Army HALO badge is visible on SGM Conner's Left Pocket flap. Tributes are nice if time is taken to do them right.
Bro, did you know that the pic in 0:58 is from the Spanish green berets? I know that cause I’m one of them, and that pic is in our base, in Alicante. Best regards from your Spanish comrades
Just a thought by a liberal. The BEST thing the US military ever did was form, and make independent of airborne, Special Forces. The idea behind SF was brilliant. Train indigenous forces to do their own fighting. Greece, before SF was founded. Korea. Vietnam, the blooding. And finding, forever, their mission. Not that the DOD cared. I knew an SF E-6 in '75-77. Knowledgeable, intelligent, innovative, really good with people. The perfect ROTC Sargent. Why he wasn't an officer, I don't know. And sooooo glad he wasn't. I learned so much from him. When he left our school, he was promoted to E-7, and sent to Germany as an ops sgt. on an SF team. Surprised him. Damn glad for SGT Kirshbaum(Sgt. K). SF is great.

The Original is "100 Mann und ein Befehl" German song in WW2. Means "100 men and 1 order"
the green beret's what....? y The green beret's honor? The green beret's beret?
Great song and I love it. But the jump wings shown are not what you get when you graduate jump school at Fort Benning.

I may be wrong, but those don’t look like jump wings. I may be wrong though.
