    Hi there! Even though I have no desire to sell (I am a collector for myself), I enjoyed watching this video. I also watched the one on shipping, which was very helpful, and got a kick out of you looking for free boxes and free packing material! Ha! You just crack me up - thank you for sharing. I always enjoy your videos because they are so positive and so uplifting /you are a beautiful person both inside and out….thank you! ♥️🏈💛

    I've shipped a lot of items but am still nervous about it because I don't want to get careless and have stuff broken enroute. Like you said, being a reseller, every purchase and sale is a different experience, and I think that's what makes it never boring. I can't work at monotonous jobs and that's why I run my own business.

    Hi Andy! Thank You for giving great advice! ❤ I too sell on Etsy, still fairly new, doing pretty good. Please share with people when you have a buyer who wants you to “Gift for someone”. When I started I didn’t understand what to do. I went out and bought gift cards. Not realizing that on Etsy when printing the label, that everything I needed was there. I always give Thank You cards with every order. If you don’t know, you just don’t know. I had a buyer named Wenonah, but she is also a seller on Etsy explain the process to me, even sent a beautiful video on what to do with specific requests. Buyers get upset if you don’t follow directions. This can really help new sellers. Thanks Andy! 😊

    I’ve been reselling for 5 years and looking back, I realize how much I learned along the way. As a former marketer, I mapped out my plan and learned a lot from watching YT videos. But I also learned from my mistakes - pricing a valuable item too low, not properly packaging items for shipping, failing to have a scalable inventory management system…I’m still learning but it gets easier if you keep going!

    I'm a new subscriber, and love your bullet point tutorials!! Lots of content and concrete ideas, and not a lot of fluff. You get to the "meat" of a subject and clarify it for me. My brain must work like you - very creative but I need lots of data to make smart decisions. I would love a video on how you track your inventory - from purchase , to final established price, to what it sold for. What inventory system or app do you use to keep 100's of items manageable?

    Thanks for all the great tips. I am trying to get all my ducks in a row to start an online shop, and you helped cover things I needed to know. One of my fears is the shipping part, so I will watch your video on that. I always love your videos and look forward to the next! 🙂

      I was really scared of the shipping part, but Facebook Marketplace makes it so easy. Marketplace creates the shipping labels for you once the buyers input their information. Shipping was a big barrier for me for many years, but I should've dived in much sooner. I probably missed so many sales by being scared, and now my inventory is so built up it has become hard to manage. I wish I was listing and shipping as I was buying and sourcing.

    Great video Andi!! I tried selling on Whatnot and doing a live sale with no followers! It was a total nightmare doing it all by myself and my tech failed me too. I have ptsd from selling live and will probably never try it again!! lol. Glad you touched on that!! 💜

    You're fabulous! I do have a resale shop inside a brick and mortar... BUT I just started a RUclips channel, partly inspired by your channel!!! One of the tips I took from last week's video was that I made a QR code and printed It on paper and hung it in my shop-- hoping to generate more interest in my RUclips channel. Keep making your videos. I thoroughly enjoy them!

    Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this video and taking the time to share your knowledge and encouragement. I've been thinking of reselling for a while now (from collector to reseller) but I've had a lot of the concerns that you addressed. Not anymore, you've made things much more clear for me. And I didn't know you'd done a video on shipping, that's my biggest question! So glad I subscribed, you're amazing!

    In my state I think all you have to do(for a sole proprietorship) is register an unused business name and obtain a tax ID in order to charge sales tax as a reseller. There are a few other minor things but it seems pretty simple overall. My tax people suggested obtaining an EIN # even if you don't plan on having employees. It might also be wise to consider who you'd have to talk to for legal help in the event you get sued.
    Q: What do you suggest for keeping records and tracking the business operations and health? I like to keep meticulous records and I think it'd be useful to be able to analyze your business data so I imagine electronic bookkeeping should have utilities to do that automatically?
    Thanks for a great video!

    Antique booths in our area rent single shelves in glass cases, smaller & larger booths & charge if you need electricity in your booth, etc & there are wait lists at most. A couple of ours require you to rent shelf space before moving up to a booth. 16:22 great info Andi.

    One legal element that I have to consider here in Australia is how storing and running a my small vintage reselling business from home could VOID my home and contents insurance. I’m currently exploring business insurance add-ons to cover this. Not sure what other countries insurance policies are but this is a potentially big problem that could be unintentionally devastating.

    Thank you so much Andy. This was so timely for me. I have been selling on Poshmark for a while, and made some money last. Year ( coffee money 😂) , but I want to up my game and I was wondering what the best strategy would be. I sell clothing and home decor. Mostly vintage but newer items also. Do you recommend choosing one category or niche rather than a hodge posh of things… I’m not scare of technology but suck a video.

    Thanks Andi, great video as usual. Instarted my (very imperfect) etsy shop last June. I've done better than i expected, but I still have some confusion about certain things with the site. For instance, I often see that I've gotten sales or favorites from Pinterest- but I don't use Pinterest and haven't paid for ads on Etsy, so how does that happen? Anyway, could you maybe do a video about some of the random technicalities of Etsy?

    • @AllPutTogether
      @AllPutTogether  27 минут назад

      Thanks!! Etsy has its own ad campaigns that includes our listings. We are automatically part of that program so that’s why you’ll get sales from that exposure.

    People should not let taxes stop them from starting a small business. In the first few years, as you begin to scale your business, it is very likely your expenses will be greater than your income. I got a credit card that I use only for my business which helps track expenses and I do my best to keep receipts.

    What do you think of selling from your own website/blog as opposed to Etsy?

    • @gritandglam1815
      @gritandglam1815 5 дней назад +4

      I will let her weigh in but I have sold on my own Squarespace site and also on Etsy. There are pros and cons for each. Both have costs associated with selling so that is not the sole consideration. What you get on your own site is the chance to build a brand and have all of your content in one place. So if you are big on social media (IG and RUclips especially) and have those marketing tools ramped up, your own site makes sense. If you are not going into content creation and branding, you are more likely do find Etsy a better option as they do some of that for you by virtue of the algorithm and worldwide audience.

    Can one make a decent profit online without being a content creator and having that traffic as your customer base?

    • @AllPutTogether
      @AllPutTogether  4 дня назад +2

      Yes, I was profitable year one, but the money was extra spending money not pay your bills money. Being a content creator is a form of marketing for your business. You can certainly choose to do another form of marketing to generate sales. For most people, reselling isn’t a list and forget it or put it in your booth and forget it business. People usually have to do something extra to boost sales to a level that would truly pay bills.
