Edge of the World was written from the perspective of a mythical character - a warrior who has become a sort of gatekeeper who guides the dead into the next world, but who longs to be human. The lyrics, however, speak to our struggle to REALise ourselves in a world where we are expected to conform and often pretend to be something we are not. When we are not ourselves, we are not alive. In a sense we are ghosts, we are the dead; we stand in the place between life and death - The Edge of the World. It is only when we find the courage to be ourselves that we return to life.
For this song I've used AI to generate most of the footage in the visualizer and was reasonably happy with the result. It's still an evolving technology and the video sections left a little to be desired, but all in all I have to say I'm pretty excited about what AI can offer creative people. It's definitely something I will be keeping track of and might use for future projects as well.
