I've watched this about 20 times and until you mentioned the Eiffel Tower, I never noticed it! Also, until I saw your comment, I didn't even know how to spell "Eiffel Tower"!
In the TV Series Leslie Neilsen was absolutely dry as a bone in his delivery which made the whole show even better. There were times in the later films when he seemed to play for laughs - which detracted from the effect. I remember loving this when it first was shown in Britain (very early 80’s)and couldn’t believe how few episodes were made before it was junked. They say it failed initially because it required too much attention from the general US viewer.

Even before I clicked, I knew this would happen.
It was so beautifully obvious.
Ah. I see that you are also familiar with Leslie Nielsen style comedy.
Cos it's American
Even before I clicked, I knew that someone would make this comment.
Same here but I still laughed 😂
This type of humour never gets old!
The knee slap kills me
Excellent catch! Damn, there are so many jokes in this that if you blink you miss one.
I love how the knee slap initiates the Patellar Reflex in her knee, like at a Doctor's office! LOL!!!
Eiffel Tower seen through the window.

Police Squad was one of the funniest shows ever made!
You know what is going to happen, but it's still funny. Brilliant.
The way he just pulls it out of his desk is gold.

Got the dvd need to watch to cheer me up
Already has a great one
wahats funnier the tail or neilsons sincere tone
Made me chuckle !
Odd that the desk officer wouldn't know that Frank was speaking figuratively, not literally.
What a nice beaver.
Iooooooooooooool
"She reminded me of my mother, all right...."
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The real question is what was the officer doing with a tail in his desk in the first place
😂
The guy should have looked at the audience and shaken his head "No."
He's a cop, he does as he's told
The actors playing it straight is what makes absurdist comedy work.
And then the audience gets confused and doesn't laugh.

being cancelled for being too funny isn’t funny at all.
