Fun fact: The part where Darryl falls down was improvised. He was meant to get in his car, lost his footing and made up the rest of the scene. Ridley Scott liked it so much that he kept it.

I love the slapstick part where he falls on his butt and then yells at the two workers like it's their fault. I wonder if that was improvised.
It was improvised - the actor Christopher MacDonald fell over accidentally but stayed in character - Ridley Scott liked it so much he left it in the movie

I love the way Thelma(Geena Davis!) Says "hunn"..? Wen shes trying to ask his "permission" to go off on her fishing trip with Louise! Its like Thelma knew he'd say no but was trying to "sweetn" him up into saying yes! Love this movie so much! Real girl power kinda movie which is def up my "street"!

Christopher MacDonald gave such a masterful comic performance in a small part. Almost liked Daryl 'cause of how good he is.
And it wasn’t even planned. It was an accident that he tripped, but they kept it in the script.
