When he said why did you marry me? and she she said I dont know. A complex woman that I totally get. I love her performance and I get it. I tend to get women more than men. Oscar goes to Glenn.
It's not to hurt him.. it was said to bring him back to reality. He was trying to blame HER for his affairs and his narcissistic behavior by accusing her of doing to someone else what he was doing to her. It's really a "get a grip on reality". Much like "thoughts and prayers" and "bless your heart" has within that statement a little "f--k you" tucked in there.
Umm this scene IS great and all, but it’s great because it fucking Hurts and captures everything that countless real women endure in marriages to ego maniacal men and more! His words were fucking brutal!
If i understood it correctly her husband got the nobel prize for literature cause he wrote so many fantastic books. But the truth is that she wrote all the books and he just added his name. And now the she can't take it any longer 'cause she took all her energy into writing these books and her husband get's now the highest award in the world for HER work.
@@kirstenpapsch3795 plus, and mostly at the top of it, he's a manipulative and entitled lying ASSHOLE! God I hated him so much, just for this scene alone. It's sad because, sometimes, people cannot even see what they do with their behaviour (some people do, though. And still persevere!). I still believe she was robbed for her performance.. And Pryce? What an Actor, ladies and gentleman.
Joan had every right to be upset since Joe was always stealing credit and practically dolling her into thinking that there was nothing wrong. However, while Joan was scorned because Joe cheated on her, HE was the one with a wife and a baby by the time he met Joan and they had an affair. That’s already a recipe for disaster. Joan was the other woman in the beginning before she became the wife. For Joan to think that Joe changed from a womanizer into a family man is delusional. Once a cheater, always a cheater.
Because she told her husband not to include his wife in his thank you speech but he did it anyways. It is like a slap in the face to her to thank the wife who follows him around during "his" success. It's like, thanking her?! There is no thanking her! She wrote it! The only thank you she should get is having the strength to keep quite all of those decades while her husband gets the credit for all of her work.
Glen Close is a great actress, but Jonathan Pryce is phenomenal. Maybe the film should have actually been called the Husband?? ( Just a thought. ) Way to go Jon, we love you.🎬❤🎥💜
"Your wife... who just WON THE NOBEL PRIZE" Jesus, her delivery of that line gave me literal chills.
Jesus has nothing to do with it.
When she said “shame on you” omg what an acting class!
Glenn Close and Jonathan Pryce, both giving us a master class in acting. Bravo
She's brilliant!
This scene is a perfect example as to why Glenn Close should’ve won the Oscar
Mummy Tee u should see the movie and u will be commenting urself
Excellent scene.
she is brillant
She should have won an Oscar for her performance in Dangerous Liason. The ending scene is without a single word is so profound and brilliant
lit think the Academy members just wanted to make Glenn Close insane with anger not awarding her for this film. Even Olivia Colman apologized.
Glenn close is the best actress on this planet, no doubt!
and Jonathan Pryce - what a duo!!
Boy, he is such an asshole

Wow!
Man he was so selfish on the movie 🍿 just saying
I get it, but why do people say “shame on you” like it’s really going to hurt the other person?

How did she not win?
As much as Glenn was great in this movie, watch The Favourite and you’ll see why.
@@jackmahanes4591 Olivia was supporting!
@@renan.csmaia No, she was not. Emma and Rachel were the Supporting. The movie was about Queen Anne and everything surrounding her. She was the lead.
Jack Mahanes It’s still maddening that she lost.
@@jackmahanes4591 She was hardly in the movie. Emma had the most screen time out of all of them.
Need an acting class...just watch this
I can see acting students watching this mouths agape seeing these seasoned actors act this scene out in front of them. Amazing!
My God, how much I hated him!
That means he was doing his job well...great acting.
Me and my old Love had a falling out and I am okay now
Umm this scene IS great and all, but it’s great because it fucking Hurts and captures everything that countless real women endure in marriages to ego maniacal men and more! His words were fucking brutal!
Her Oscar lost is the reason 2020 is so fuck up.
Wrong. And please learn to communicate clearly. Without profanity.
Was there a main reason she wanted a divorce just asking

"You've got it all my girl" ... the only reason he ( his reprehensible character ) had anything and everything, was because she gave it to him.

MARTINE PEAKE lol, you’re an idiot
He’s acting circles around her.
He actually feels like the character.
Glenn feels like she’s overacting for the camera.
He was extremely selfish on the 🍿 movie just saying
