Anyone watching this currently and is wanting to get into the game - the 501st battleforce for $200AUD is a great intro along with the starter set. Plenty enough to start an army for the minimal price
I was looking forward to this video to start my collection! Tomorrow I’ll be buying two core sets and a couple more thing based on your list! Also, could you point me to some of the terrain companies you mentioned on your video, please?
Thanks for the info, my 12yo boy and I are picking up wargaming for the first time. This video helped us get a plan to purchase, and ease my worries of spending money on the wrong boxes. Thank you, we will definitely keep track on your videos
I haven't lost a single saber class in battle, the maneuverability, suppression and durability the hover tank affords is crucial for my clones. I run 2 squads of P1 and Obi-wan behind it while Arc troops fire at range 5 to harass the enemy to charge forward, it sometimes back fires, but being able to control the field position of enemy units is paramount for completing objectives in my opinion. My Arc troopers are basically a second army capable of destroying any unit 1v1 (except heros and ops) and with Echo his long ranged death gun and 2 wounds allows my Arcs to capture and harass. Those are my first 2 purchases, and I havent once regretted having them on the battlefield. Obi-wan is also surprisingly good with his command cards. I use him like a shield generator, soon to get better with medics.
Man, I love the vital assets box. It’s got some really fun missions and objectives. Definitely worth getting soon after you can field a whole army IMO.
Hey! Thanks for another great guide on early purchases for Legion players. I have a question about the Clone Upgrade Expansion, regarding the extra unit card included. You mentioned that it's nice to have an extra Phase I unit, so I was wondering if people run the expansion as a sort of "proxy" Phase I squad. To my knowledge, all other Phase I kits come with their own unit cards and I'm surprised that it comes with one even though they're technically heavy-weapon/personnel figures. Thanks for the clarification! I didn't know if that was the case, and if it is, it seems really nice that the upgrade can double as both a third corps unit or as upgrades once you become more entrenched in the game.
So lets assume you use these miniatures in other Phase-1 Clone Units - you'll have spare Phase 1 clone models that these mini's are off-setting. The idea is that you take those spare regular clones and can use them with this unit. I also believe it's tournament legal as well, since this is kinda what they are selling you the ability to do here. It is important however, to ensure that this doesn't make it confusing to your opponent. Be sure to mark this unit somehow as CLEARLY being the spare unit, if you find the need to run heavy models as basic clones.
@@Crabbok Oh, sweet! Thanks for letting me know. I didn’t realize that both upgrade kits also come with normal clone arms with heavy weapons, so that’s an amazing inclusion. I’ll definitely keep the heavy weapon issue in mind when playing these, though.
I hope they put out more models for Phase 2 clones. I honestly just visually like them better than Phase 1. Cause I’m guessing you can’t just lop off the Phase 1 head and stick on a 3D printed Phase 2 head.
Is anyone interested in a turn based strategy map campaign? For example build a large say 3000pt army, then on a map have each unit represented by a token, each "army" you assemble (several token on one tile) can only field units based on the current army restriction limit except for point cost. It's hard to explain through text, but super easy to see on a board. I've been home cooking a board game for several years... maybe I'll make a channel for it soon.
Im looking at buying two core sets to get started with this hobby. I am worried about the quality of the minis compared to gw . Can you say anything the quality?
ive been trying to get into the game for some time now. its been hard since Covid-19 killed most gameplaces in my area, but on the positive side im gonna have a lots of time to paint the figures when i have finally figured out which starter set to get :) its really hard chosing between grevious or vader though :/ which faction do you think is the most fun to play?
The empire has a lot of options/variety since there's a lot more expansions, and clone wars stock as been a mess. I grew up with the clone wars so personally I like the droids more. Maybe consider which set your friends would more likely get excited to try.
It's still under Asmodee so probably not much will change. All announced expansions are still coming out. AMG has done a good job with their marvel mins so I think if anything the production value will go up, although probably the price too.
Here's the updated list for 2022! ruclips.net/video/jEz9VE5mKe8/видео.html
A specialist unit of generic Jedi would be awesome some day - or even some as operatives!
Jedi Specialists for the Republic would be sick, having more units that are melee-centric that aren't Operatives or Commanders would be nice.
would love to see a generic jedi general, and then a squad of jedi knights, or maybe jedi guardians
I think a pack of jedi that you can assemble with many different options would be a huge hit with miniature enthusiasts in general.

First time I’ve watched one of your videos I can’t wait to see more
I'm going to get into Legion at some point. Absolutely will be doing the republic. Super helpful video.

Love the content keep up the good work :)
3 boxes of Phase 2 Clones and 2 boxes of B2 Super battle droids arrived today so that’s my weekend sorted!
Thanks for the guide doing droids first but having this to expand our my clones from the starter set is definitely useful.
I honestly thought they would have made it where Rex and Anakin work very well together
Yea

That's a fantastic hobby to get into with a son or daughter, I hope you have tons of fun!
Just thinking about getting in to SW Legion, and I've found your videos interesting and helpful. Thanks!
Ha! I just remembered you talking about this video in your errata vid last night. I think it holds up regardless. 😏
Agreed! I don’t think the point changes/rule changes really alter this list that much? No need to upload a new vid for it!
Thanks!
Solid advice for clones. I actually ran 3 barcs and had a lot of luck with it

Thanks for the awesome content, I've been on the fence about getting Legion just because I'm afraid I'll mess up the painting
Check out Sorastro here on RUclips. He has a whole painting series for this game.
Still a good helpful vid despite the errata, thanks for all you do my dude 👈👈😎
yo another great vid man. love your unboxings but gettin stuff for christmas, so i might get into the game too
I managed to grab two boxes for $80 a piece. Pretty great deal for how much plastic you get in a box.
I’m hoping we see some republic commandos next, I really think that would be a great addition
Same! I'd love to paint em as delta squad!
Well! Seeing a few of your vids, I think I'm gonna start Star Wars Legion!
I've been waiting for this video for ages haha thankyou very much I enjoy your stuff noice.
Love this series crabbok! Thanks for guiding me along!
Great tips, can't wait for my local to get some stock
So useful thanks

Hopefully will be starting after Christmas. This has been a help! Thank you.
Excited for your imp list! Did we ever figure out if e-webs can be mounted on the gav?
Soon... I’ve already preordered maul and anakin eventually I’ll get the core maybe once the pandemic lifts and add it to my rebel/emp collection.

I really want to see more large vehicles released
Thanks for the video
Good tip is if you buy the clone wars expansion and are on a budget you can get it as low as sometimes $70.
Great Guide, hopefully Phase 2s start coming back.
They should add some “native” troop expansions. Gungans, Umbarans, Mon Cala/Quarren
100% agree. Geonosians and Twi’leks would also be cool
Mmmm, Ayla Secura 😋

R2 is the best unit the republic has for its points. 1st upgrade for the list
Love me some Phase 2 clones
can you combine republic and imperial vs rebels and seperatists instead of having to buy two of same core?
No.

Is it plausible to try to get all of them over time?
What happens now that FF has lost the license to another company??

@4:16 Sounds more like someone needs a dice jail to me, lol j/k.
But what if it’s January 2022
I feel like we need Cody to go with Obi Wan
One of the minis in the upgrade set is holding a hollow projector so just paint him orange
Sweet!
Hi
Hi crabbok
I know I want 2 of the phase 2s. But I know at some point I'll get 6. Lol.
Getting sick of Fantasy Flight designing games based on the fact that you need to buy several core sets.
It’s too bad they drastically changed the rules RIGHT before you posted this. Still good info though!
Really?? What changed?
why anakin is low in the list ???
