For the money (currently £299) the Coronet is a winner. It blows my mind that you can get a guitar now that needs nothing out of the box and can go gigging immediately that has its own identity and sound without trying to be a cheap imitation of something else etc.
You're totally right, I own the old one( s), I buyed the Coronet R.I.> ...To my surprise it's very OK, Intonation spot-on, frets OK, I only lowered the bridge and maybe i'll put a new nut on it. It's more the emotional feel and smell of the old one that you pay for, but if you need a good Back 2 Basic junior like, lightweight no nonsen rocker this is a real bargain. I treated the backside of the neck to have a more used feel with 000 steelwool and off we go.
They have demands for how much product a dealer has to have in stock. Depending on how much inventory they move, it can be extremely burdensome to smaller dealers to stock a large quantity of guitars that don't sell well and then have to keep increasing volume contractually. It's happened a lot to dealers that don't have an internet presence and they were dropped or went out of business.
@@tysonschultz8897 i worded it wrong, it needed a lot more then a just a truss rod adjustment, the nut was way to high and a couple high frets. jezzz you guys are savage lol
@@LivingroomGearDemos I think what the bloke wants to say that the vocal microphone sounds a bit sibilant. The guitar sounds stellar though, it's one of the better recorded videos of these two guitars. Then again who cares about some minor sibilance from the vocal microphone in a guitar demo, as long as the instrument sounds great. It's like pointing out that someone's gloves don't look good in a review for a motorcycle.

It woulda been nice if they did a true reissue with the original New York pickup, but that for sure woulda driven the cost up.
These little junior like guitars are amazing. So much fun and worth way more then they charge.
Sounds absolutely amazing. That price is a steal too.
indeed!
Really great video, been looking for a nice hi def demo of the Coronet for a while. The crunch is just a classic P90 sound.
Glad you liked it!
I wish the red Wilshire still had the white pickguard, love the look of the Cornett but would want the neck pickup
That Coronet looks awesome and sounds great. Going to have to pick one up.
🤟🏻
Crestwood is no doubt the best in the series, I'd even take those minis over a p90, they have their own cool thing going on and sound very unique.
yes, would've loved to try the Crestwood too
They’re all gems !
I have the Crestwood. You're right.
If I hear an AC/DC riff tease in the first 30 seconds, I automatically subscribe. And that's the way it shall stay
😂 I like the cut of your jib

3rd world labor is a hell of a drug. Just don’t complain when your kids can’t find a decent paying job.

I really like only one pickup guitars but the guitar sounds a bit thin? Need a bit more body/beef when theres only one bridge pickup imo.
Love this design too.
How thick is the Coronet body? The originals were like Telecaster bodies, less curved. Great video. Tasty playing.
I have the Crestwood Custom from this line and it's fantastic
nice! Color?

Thumbs up if you're a Steve Marriot fan that clicked on this!
Did you adjust the height of the pickup on the coronet? I have the same and the strings are sooo high.
I shimmed mine to around 2.5mm from the strings.
The Coronet sounds WAY more articulate vs the Wilshire bridge pickup. Wow. I'm hearing this on my cell phone.
Definitely not subtle
Could be due to the pickup height
@@sambleach doubt it. the whole response is different including it's natural EQ signature
@@levijessegonzalez3629 They are different guitars of course, wraparound bridges are really resonant
Many say a difference in tone between soap bars and dogear p90s. Did you find?
I fuckin love my Wilshire
Love the fact that you attempted to play a Chet Atkins tune.
"attempted"
An epiphone I want to buy
yes!
So you're a mini humbucker fan? Why didn't you review the Epiphone Crestwood?
You May Be right, but i've tried the reissuea and they are light years far from the originals i own...or maybe more....
Which one do you suggest? Thanks for the video•
Hmm, Coronet! I love the simplicity
What is the overdirve/fuzz at 0:08??
I miss my P90 guitars : (
That Wilshire has got me gassing!
HA!
Can you get some indie clean tones like mac demarco tone with the coronett?
looks great !!! Sounds great !!!
thanks!
I love your shirt haha
thanks :)
What pedals are you using in this video?
Save even more by not buying anything.
True. But that’s no fun.
I want bothhhh
Aaannd my local retailer just stopped carrying epiphone/gibson.bummer..
:(

To bad the factory set up was so poor I just bought somthing else, couldn't be bothered with all the work it needed.
it's not THAT bad. Also, as mentioned in the video, I see this with a lot of different companies.

Hey! How do you deal with p90s and hum?
I don't really mind hum. It's part of the guitar sound, as long as it's not super loud.
Embrace it !
I do not like the tone here? Maybe amp?
Ok? Thanks for the comment?
@@LivingroomGearDemos The vintage ones sound better and are very affordable with minor issues. It sounds ok but mine sounds better, that's all..
Bought the Coronet. Sounds very thin and trebly.
Raise the pickup closer to the strings with a washer - shim etc .
I played one but it literally felt like a toy in my hands, it was really disapointing
I think it's part of their charm being lightweight but the tone's outweigh that.

Anyone buying a Epiphone buy a original design not a Gibson copy
MR SANDMAN!!
Save an extra thousand by not buying any
Great tip
words sounds bad! what a mic?)
Sounds great to me
Actually one of the better recorded RUclips videos I've heard.
are we listening to even the same video?
😆
