I bought this as my first propane grill. It's been a fun, learning experience ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I think it's a bit too pricey after looking at other grills, but it wasn't hard to put together and it works really well. I love the side burner option for heating food during a power outage. I have an electric stove and live in the South (Hurricane season), so this was a bonus. I also bought a cover for it and it has protected it nicely (the Char Broil All-Season Grill Cover 3-4 Burner: Large). Every few grill sessions, I take the rack (or grate) and burner covers off and clean them with a non-abrasive scrubby and mild soap. I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.
Ditto to all the preceding, positive comments. That's my grill. That's my part. Weber was kind enough to send me a new one, for free, for my five year old grill. Was surprised to find a battery in the starter and thought, I'm a genius, this will be easy. But no, the new battery did nothing. Was very helpful to see you walk thru the process. Many thanks!
You are AWESOME for putting up this video!! I was about to follow the instructions on the igniter replacement manual which looks like a 5 hour job with 2 people dismantling the entire grill, but I saw your video and replaced it in less than 5 minutes!! Perhaps I would have figured out to just pull out the wires and replace the igniter box only but I put this off for almost a year intimidated by the ridiculous manual. Thank you for showing me the easy way!
Great video! Got my problem fixed 57 seconds into this video. I did not know there was a battery on the igniter... Lit right up after replacing battery.
Just got a replacement and looked at the directions - thought it was going to be easier to buy a new grill. But with this video in hand, done in 10 minutes. Thank YOU!
Nice video but you may have wasted $50 and a half hour of work. I had the same problem a week after washing my grill and watched your video. I tried popping the battery and like you found a bit of rust and corrosion. Looked inside the battery housing tube with a flashlight and saw that the terminal was also rusty. I hot glued a circle of sandpaper to the tip of a wood dowel and rotated it inside the housing for a minute. and then blew out the dust. Popped in a fresh battery and voila! Celebrated a few hours later with some Costco prime ribeyes with the money I saved. Had the corrosion been there much longer and gotten worse this may not have worked but a 10 minute no-cost fix is worth a try.
I had water in my ignition module - simply took it off and put into a bowl of rice for a day or 2 to pull out the moisture. Reassembled and now it works great. Thanks for the video!
Thanks bro... You just remind me the fact that there was a battery to change in this device. I a ashamed... I was about to order a new ignition kit. But it now works like brand new.
Thank you sir! Received the part today and replaced it in less than 5 mins after watching your video. Replaced battery first but that didn't work. Now it lights up like brand new.
Ha!! I followed YOUR instructions and I did it!!! Surprised the snot out of my husband too!! Thanks! PS -- I had to replace the push button module (which came in the package) and there were several more "piece parts" in the package that I did not even use -- I felt like a real guy just for this!! LOL!! 😆
@@HilltownCT I plugged your channel in my review on the Weber site! My review was listed as Anonymous (not sure why, because I thought I included my name) www.weber.com/US/en/grills/gas-grills/gas-replacement-parts/igniter-kit/7628.html
I also have a Genesis E310, did exactly what the video shows (replaced only the igniter module and left the original wires and burner attachments in place), and it worked perfectly!!!
Thanks a bunch for doing this. Solved my problem for much less than I'm sure it would have cost to have someone else service it. Would have had no idea how to fix it without your vid. Works fine now.
Thanks for posting. I was able to fix without replacing. If you are still getting some weak clicks intermittently, try cleaning the battery terminals. Mine were a little dirty and now after cleaning the ignitor is firing like new.
Check the battery first. I had no idea there was a battery in there (ignition button). Replaced my factory issued battery and then my grill worked. It's a simple fix before you start tearing the grill apart. My grill was only a few years old though...
So, I ordered the replacement part only to find out the screws to remove the plate on the grill won't budge. Grrr! Any suggestions for loosening or even tapping these screws? I've tried every Phillips head screw driver imaginable.
You could try turning the screwdriver as you rap the end of the handle with a hammer. Just don’t smash your hand. Usually, the taps from the hammer are enough to break the screws loose.
@@HilltownCT Thanks, I'll try this! I managed to get one screw off by placing duct tape between the screw head and Phillips screwdriver but the 2nd screw wouldn't budge.
Thanks...this is just a guess because I don’t have a sizing chart. #6-16x.5 flat trim machine screw. It’s not the space shuttle, so I’m sure you’ll get something to work :-)
Why do you say that? I changed the module out as shown and still cannot get the clicking to get ignition. Could it be the push button? Tried multipel batteries.

Shannon Young Thanks for the nice comment. I appreciate that!
Yeah manual is crazy 😜 prompts to replace whole kit and wires but seems overboard

You got off cheap!
You're so lucky. I replaced the battery and got no clicks. I'm here to see what I need to take apart before buying a new ignition module.
Super helpful. Thanks so much got it up and running again put another 10 years of life in this thing! Cheers.
Thank you…followed your instructions and now it works like new ! Great video !!
Thanks Ken!
That was great. Thanks. Weber is sending me a new ignition module, and I wll watch your video again before installing.
Definetley the most helpful video I was able to find. Keep making great content!
Too kind. Thank you!

Perfect- if I didn't watch this it would have taken me an hour and I would have screwed it up! Great instruction, short and to the point.
Thanks Sal.
wOW! I didn't know there was a battery. I ordered a module. Thank you for showing how easy it was to change the module.
No problem Maria. Thanks for watching!

I just did the exact same thing, fires right up!! Thank you for the straightforward video!
straight to the point and nicely done. Thank's for the "grillparts" tip too!
Good job. My Weber is 20 yrs old. One push start every time. Then again I rebuilt the whole thing twice over

Thanks very much, you made it very easy for me!
You’re very welcome!
Good stuff and easy to understand! You should train others on how to keep it simple.
Thomas Dickinson Thanks. My other half would beg to differ with you tho. 😂
Great video! I only needed to replace my module as well. Didn't know it would be this easy. Thanks!
Thank you so much taking the time to upload this video!!
I feel so much more comfortable changing my ignition now.!!!
Glad it helped you out. Anything is possible when we have confidence in ourselves.
Thanks so much! Like a previous poster, I had not thought about the battery!
Super helpful. Just changed mine out in less than 5 minutes. Thanks!!!
Thanks. Really helpful. Manual didn't show how to do this clearly.
That was terrific. Take the rest of the week off!
Done. Thanks!
I gave u one like just because you're a Harley guy and you look like a patriot...Good video
Thanks - easiest repair I ever made!

Easy.
The cat looked to get inside right before you ignited.
