Everything you need to know about Hellbenders! (And how they got their name!)

Hellbenders are the third largest amphibian in the world and the largest in North America! They may also be called: Water Dog, Devil Dog, Snot Otter, Allegheny alligator, Grampus, Mud dog and many other names. Their scientific name is Cryptobranchus alleganiensis. They are found in clear, cold, well oxygenated streams throughout the appalachian mountains. In this video I will tell you their story! They have fascinating adaptations, biology and ecology.
