- Join me in part 2 of this 3 part trip down through France & into Italy via the Mont Blanc tunnel. In part 1 we ran along the Adriatic coast right down to our first drop in Bari.
Part 2 sees us getting the drops off before reloading for the UK & getting stuck in the Mont Blanc tunnel ! Whilst Part 3 gets us a turn around in the UK & back down to Rungis in Paris.

Another Hi from Australia. As a retired truck driver, I'm enjoying being a passenger for a change. Your videos are very entertaining and I'm loving the scenery you travel through. One thing that amazed me though is the access to the Mont Blanc tunnel from each side. I always imagined you just drove into it straight from the motorway without having to negotiate the winding pass each side. I guess at the time it was built the construction technology of the time couldn't handle the much longer tunnel that would have resulted building it at a lower level. Safe travels and keep it shiny side up!
Hi Dennis & yes I guess you’re right about the longer tunnel. The old road up is even more treacherous, clinging to the side of the cliff face 😱. Cheers for watching mate 👍🏽

The two lanes down the French side of the Blanc used to be two-way traffic before they built the ski-slope for going up.
I burst an injector pipe on the ski-slope one Sunday afternoon and a couple of us stopped to fix it and you wouldn't believe the way the viaduct bounces as trucks go past on their way up the mountain.
That would have been in 94 or 95 I'd say.
It really hasn't changed all that much.

Ben, your accent is almost identical to that of another RUclipsr called John Kirkwood who is a retired professional baker from the northeast of England. I highly recommend his channel if you have an interest in traditional British cooking and baking.

Subscribed a couple of days ago. There is a shortage of U.K. drivers on European work who upload on a regular basis. Ned Kelly not as often as he did, Luke not doing European work and neither is Stevie Bloke. Pete Owen's not uploading, Mat Ireland not back in Black, enjoyed the tours he went on. So keep the videos coming

They're actually looking for a night driver for the next few weeks (check Facebook) as that's a good way in.

Looking at the picture of your load. Do they seriously stack the plants in pots like that throughout the trailer? I’m surprised it only takes them 4 hours to load. Strewth! Surely it’s better to drop and swap!
4hrs at each drop Dan (I had 4/5) & we can’t drop & swap as the works not regular enough to warrant a stand trailer.

G’day Ben, I’m curious as to how long distance trucking works in the UK. Are drivers employed on wages by haulage companies, or are you an owner driver who has his own prime mover? Do you get paid by distance travelled or per cubic meter or tonnage delivered? Thanks for the really informative videos. As a new subscriber I am slowly working my way through them. Hi BM, drivers are usually employed by the Company unless they are owner operators. Payments are usually a combination of distance, weight & number of deliveries. Cheers mate 😊
Hi great vlog, do you rely on Google maps for directions or is there a trucker GPS, to keep you out of trouble like too narrow roads and low bridges etc. Rgds
Hi Steve, no I use a Garmin truck Sat nav which is usually pretty good though occasionally has a glitch. If it looks tight I usually check it on Google maps/earth too which is extremely useful. Ta for watching mate 👍🏽

Thank you, I’ve been doing Euro work regularly since last November but had lots of jaunts over the water with F1 (videos on the channel) & motorbike racing so it’s not all new. Definitely recommend giving it a go though, it’s totally different to UK work.

What sort of credit card you use for all the tolls you pass through, I am planning a drive from UK to Bulgaria and wondered if there is a 1 card do all tolls etc. T.I.A.
Hi Skint, we have toll boxes fitted to the screen in the trucks & special credit type cards for Mt Blanc & Frejus tunnels. Enjoy your trip pal 👍🏽
