    So here in EA sports WRC 23, I am doing a mini series in setting up your car in WRC 23. In this part we deal with the differential in my opinion the most important par of any setup. In the next one we will discuss the brakes, gears and alignment. So make sure to subscribe with the notification bell on so you don't miss out on that part.
    This is the longest video i have made so please bare with whilst i am still learning to edit better. And make the content better for you guys!
    Disclaimer
    When writing for this video I have taken into consideration the fact that this is a video game and there are certain settings and strategies that might not mirror real life but they will make you faster and more competitive in WRC. While most recommendations do mirror real life setups, some are simply recommended to take advantage of the limitations of the game itself.

    I think it would have been easier for new players to figure out suitable *change* to their current settings if you had explained that "if the car does X while braking on gravel, do Y to reduce/increase oversteer". Basically you want to have maximum locking on both front and rear that doesn't reduce your cornering speeds but how to figure out which setting you want to loosen a bit in case of specific problem you have needs lots of trial and error unless you get hints.
    I learned the system by only adjusting one setting but a lot at a time to make it clear what it causes.

      The diffs are tricky one notch the wrong way and the car will handle so badly, that you have to start the setup again😅

      @@MikeyyRSoh for sure, I hope that happens a lot less from now on lol. You've definitely driven me to mess around with setups more and dare I say it actually helped me be faster. I've only grinded Chile El Ponen so far though. Still, P3 in the WRC1 cars is MUCH higher than I'd thought I would be capable of especially since I haven't dared the leap into the whole wheel & pedal rabbithole yet! Let's see on some other stages if it was a fluke eh?

    Cheers I was pretty clear with diffs but thanks for the deep dive 👍 Can I ask though, on the Rally1 cars the max diff on driving lock is around 37% or something and 44% for rear does that mean by default at their max lock they are still not fully locking the wheels at the some rotation. So there is always some slip, it’s just about how much you want / need?

    • @Hydaaar
      @Hydaaar 4 месяца назад +1

      That number is the lock percentage, so in ea wrc you will never be able to fully lock the differential. In this case only by a maximum of 44% rear and 37% front.

    When you say power should come from the rear should I have a higher rear diff compared to front .also should the values between the front and rear differentials be vastly different or should they stay close to each other

    • @MikeyyRS
      @MikeyyRS  4 месяца назад +2

      So in wrc you can never fully lock the diff anyway so I wouldn’t worry about that. And it’s hard to say because a lot of the settings you would change to how you want the car to handle for the way you like to drive. Generally speaking I wouldn’t have them to vastly different from each other as you still need to have a nice balance from front to back.
      Best way to visuals it sliders all the way left you have a loose diff so the wheels move independently of each other so I would suggest setting your driving and braking locks in the middle and adjust from there.
      I would normally say have a more locked rear diff to the front but don’t have the front in a way that it does not compliment the rear. It’s all a balancing act

  • @trevorjlewis
    @trevorjlewis 4 месяца назад

    You don't mention the percentage of centre diff. In the. Game it has a range say of 30%-70% is 70% to the rear or to the front. The game doesn't have a graphic to display this unlike the wheel toe in toe out.

    • @MikeyyRS
      @MikeyyRS  4 месяца назад +1

      I believe right is rear, left is front I’m pretty sure it’s that, as the other sliders make the diff more locked the further right you go.
