The Brass and Woodwind Shop after I clean the clarinet with Murphy oil soap I still need hydrate the wood with oil or just with the soap it’s enough?also how many minutes need the clarinet be in the Murphy oil soap? Thanks for your great videos!🙌
Hey, thanks for the great vid :) Can you maybe do a tutorial video of deep cleaning wooden clarinets? I have 13 very old clarinets (1870-1930). Some of them stink badly.. I'll let them all repair professionally in the future, but for now I'd like to give them at least a clean up and maybe oil them so they stay healthy till they get to the professional. They also have verdigris on some metal joints which I don't want to let harm the material. I'd appreciate it a lot, I couldn't find a good tutorial yet and I'm afraid to harm the wood.. Kind regards 😊
Can you do a video of how to fix bent bottom joint bridge key on clarinet because my bottom bridge is accidentally bent please and thank you and what will I do to get it unbent again. I have plenty of tools ⚒️ at my house.
a pair of pipe wrenches or channel locks from home depot or lowes will get you where you need to be. also try harbor frieght tools for a cordless lithium batter powered one
If there is mold, you will usually need to replace the corks and pads and clean the body. You may also need to replace the case. It is no cheap, but it is usually worth it to do the work.
Thanks Arthur...much appreciated!!
About to do this to my old B12. Thanks for posting the video!! Very helpful.
A nice video as usual! What about wooden clarinets though?
Use Murphy's Oil Soap.

If there is mold damage, is it better to throw away a student model clarinet, or is it worth saving?

My klarinet turned from black to green. Anyone ideas on how to make it black again?
Isn’t water bad for the cork
No, cork is not affected by water.
