The actress playing sheldons mom is Zoe Perry .. the daughter of Laurie Metcalf. they look very much alike. Laurie played Rosanne's sister in her show. It took me a second to see it, but her eyes and facial expressions finally got me.

I thought that when I saw her too. Yes the woman Sheldon is talking to (I assume the university’s president) plays Leonard’s mother on Big Bang Theory. And yes the mother on Young Sheldon, I can’t remember her name, is Laurie Metcalf’s daughter, Laurie played Aunt Jackie on Roseanne and also Sheldon’s mother on BBT. Plus Leonard (BBT) plays Darlene’s boyfriend on Roseanne. So a lot of the same people on both shows.

TV show writers have gotten so damn soft and these characters want to TALK about everything! This show takes place in the 90s with an evangelical Christian mother. The Mary Cooper I know would've grabbed Georgie by the ear and dragged his ass outta there!
And Georgie would have slapped her bible-thumping hand back to the kitchen.
Georgie is way too young for that, meemaw shouldn't be introducing such world to him, his point is quite logical but at the end of the day he is still just a child.

I am a Christian and love Christ but Mary personality is really annoying. U can't just act like u are all righteous in life.
