This is one of my favorite shows since Big Bang concluded. We all knew George's death was imminent and anticipated it at the end of this series. It was a long time coming and no surprise. But I don't think any of us were actually ready.. RIP George Cooper Sr.

Probably the most repeated comment in this thread has been some form of "Why does Meemaw look happy?". She doesn't. Some people are just very smiley criers. Idk if people are trolling when they say she's laughing or what, but why in the world would she be laughing. They had their differences but you know they loved eachother.

@@therealkendallroy it’s literally just the TV show, but the problem is it also has a cult by following that has strangely anticipated and even wanting the death of a fictional character. In fact, if he didn’t die, there would be an uproar. I remember when they was speculation a coupleof years ago the writers weren’t his death as part of the storyline, fans literally got upset. It’s such a strange, strange obsession.

I don't even see Sheldon's reaction as an autistic one like so many are claiming. Many people respond to news like that in shock. There's a kind of delayed response, almost denial in some cases before they usually eventually crack somehow.
There's no correct way to grieve. No doubt the next episode is going to be about how Sheldon leaves for University and how the rest of the family feels about it. I wouldn't be surprised if he hesitates going to uni and there's a debate on whether he should go or stay and support his family by him and presumably the others.
Obviously he is convinced to go by someone. The question is who.

Now with the old secret snip storyline, just before he passes away, I’m going to choose to believe that this is why Mary is the way she is about him in the BBT, out of anger, unresolved grief and shock, and that puts an end to the shit dad/husband thing 😂😩. And we now know he didn’t cheat on Mary.. 🩵

Sheldon's reaction is how I react whenever I hear about a death in the family. It's like the emotions can't come out and I'm just sitting there in shock but I have to sit down once I hear the news because my head starts spinning. I really think that his character is somewhat on the spectrum because a lot of people who are on the spectrum watch as their family grieves while they are sitting there trying to process the emotion that is about to happen.

The pain from George's friends at the door, MeeMaw, Missy, Mary and Sheldon, is a gut punch to everyone who has experienced this themself. Actually, I'm glad you brought that up! My theory is that in the final scene of the last episode, they're going to cut to present time, and give us a Jim Parsons cameo. Possibly even a cameo of the entire Big Bang cast. Because you know how Jim Parsons has been narrating as Sheldon? So, basically the entire series is a "foreshadow". A narrative telling of past events. So I think at the very end, we'll see Jim Parsons' Sheldon concluding his telling of childhood events, probably closing his laptop where he'd been recording, and fade to credits. That's what I think will happen. I hope it does honestly.

Sheldon reaction was indeed heartbreaking. The way he had to sit down from the shock of it all holding back his tears spoke volumes & yes Sheldon loved, cared for & admired his father more than he would have cared to admit in his past mixed feelings & all.
Of course their where things that Sheldon wished his father hadn’t done like cheating for instance. Though most of us will never understand why Sheldon chose to stay quiet keeping it to himself I personally think this was the action of a child screaming determination to keep his farther in his life and not split up his family but at the same time keeping it to himself also contributed to the years it took for him to in his heart forgive his father.
Which is why in a season 12 episode of TBBT where Sheldon is alone watching on old video of his father was special because in that moment you can see him recall to memories & realized that in-spite of his father mistakes George true character was that of a loving devoted father who’ll do anything for his children making sure they achieved the impossible even when he had to be tough no matter how different they were he loved them the same & did he’s best to understand them.
Once Sheldon got married finally becoming a father himself he 💯%finally gets realizing he himself is also making mistakes while learning to understand his own children same as his own father. Also leading him to understand that every positive impact, love & sacrifice his father devoted to him & his siblings always outweighed the bad leading to true forgiveness & the healing process Sheldon needed for himself.

I have not seen a ton of the Big Bang Theory, but had known that was being hinted at. Wow, that was a gut punch, especially seeing Missy and Sheldon’s reaction.

Well Sheldon got his wish by his family not moving to Houston and not selling the house. It’s because his dad died of a fatal heart attack. While Sheldon moved to California, his family never left Medford because of George Sr passing away in 1994.

He’s knows why in the scientific way, but still is bombarded with emotions he does now like or is truly familiar with.

Sheldon’s photographic memory means he can remember & recall this painful moment with painstaking accuracy 🥺
