Thanks to Trudeau's expert diplomacy, India is fast-tracking its border settlement with China. With that out of the way, India has a clear shot at a permanent seat on the UNSC-especially with the U.S., U.K., and France cheering from the sidelines. In 1960, Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai proposed a compromise to resolve the India-China border dispute, suggesting that China would recognize India's claim to the eastern sector (Arunachal Pradesh) if India acknowledged Chinese control over Aksai Chin in the western sector. This "package deal" aimed to settle the boundary by dividing the contested areas between the two countries, with China prioritizing Aksai Chin for its strategic link between Tibet and Xinjiang. However, Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru rejected the proposal, as he was unwilling to return any territory gained by lines drawn by its former colonial master. The U.S. maintained its embargo on China during the Great Chinese Famine (1959-1961) discouraging other nations from sending food, while millions died of starvation. Confident that China is weakened and will collapse, India implemented its "Forward Policy". If this border issue had been resolved in 1960, the past 64 years of mutual suspicion and distrust might have been avoided. Anywhere in the world, if there is a border dispute, it is usually the result of a line drawn by an Englishman; if it is an internal dispute, it is usually the US fueling it with diplomatic, financial, covert, and military support. Difference in implementation of divide and conquer strategy.

Dividing India into multiple countries would be beneficial for the Indian people but disadvantageous for politicians, as it would reduce their power. In ancient times, India mostly consisted of many independent states. Before the British arrived, there were over 500 states on the Indian subcontinent. At that time, the economy of the Indian subcontinent was extremely prosperous, with its GDP even surpassing that of China. When the British came, they forcibly merged many of these states into one to facilitate governance under a single administrative structure. For example, Kashmiris and people from Tamil Nadu, who originally had no connection, were forced to live in the same country. Similarly, people from Kerala and Manipur, who had nothing to do with each other, were also compelled to coexist in one nation. This led to extremely low efficiency in the Indian government. Additionally, people of different religious beliefs, such as Kashmiris, Nagas, Manipuris, Andamanese, Muslims, Hindus, and Christians, were forced to live together in one country. We can now argue that UK was great as long as it was colonial power and could exploit it. It won the WW1 and WW2 using the manpower of the Indian army. Without the Indian army, it would have lost the middle east and all oil supplies that they dominated. Without the larg army, it would have lost the african continent and its large reserves of resources.
As a Chinese citizen, I have no objection to India replacing the UK as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. It is likely that Russia and France also would not oppose it. If India makes an effort, perhaps the United States might remain neutral or even support India. In this scenario, the only opposition would come from the weakest member of the Security Council, the UK. This could be the option with the least resistance for India to become a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
@willy6658 It would be easier to remove the poorest and weakest member, Russia. Their only support on the council comes from China, a country which does not even have universal recognition. Both of these states could easily be removed to be replaced with Germany and Japan A security council consisting of the USA, UK, France, Germany and Japan would better represent the global power balance, and be much better equipped to settle global disputes, as we saw during the Korean War

India can never function as one united front.
@@merrick6484 this is what the western deep state wants to do to India by investing billions funding and grooming the anti-india forces. But Modi is an obstacle therefore the hate propaganda on him by the west.
Agree completely ...they can only boast, look down on China as a way to cope with their own inability to develop their country ..their head keeps getting bigger due to the unjustified flatterings from the west ... China should never never accept India into the big 5
india never said it wants to be a superpower. it said, when india grows it will help others to grow as well. that is the mode of the developing india under modi and indian ethos. By 2047 it wants to be a self sustainable developed country
you are like the anti modi congress person. india has only proved that a patriotic indian, can significantly develop a country with so much of poverty left over by the colonisers, the british and the moguls. Congress could not do much to talk about in 70yrs., but modi govt. created india with in 10 yrs crossing the hurdles from religions with hidden agenda in india, congress that supports them for their own survival, and the pseudo hindus who are anti modi. and islamic atrocities in india. india with indians are not an easy task country to run.

India will never be a UNSC permanent seat member, stop dreaming. Think about how to improve your country's sanitary system for the benefit of your people first.

😅India has great potential but the internal politics is the main roadblock.😅
That issue is 100% under Indian control.
The problem is greatly contained with incorruptible PM Modi. Wait for Trump win on November 5, 2024 and B B Netanyahu freeing himself the very night and Trump backing PM Modi. China is making deal with India totally in anticipation of the Trump win which is also the case with President Putin.

Very short answer, India needs to coordinate with China or Russia otherwise India will be poor and poor under the yoke of western Colonizer with to much of overconfidence just like this lady 😂
We will co-ordinate with whoever we want and whenever we want.

@@sublimeksaleel That's attitude makes India poorer.
You have astutely pointed out that the Injuns were the willing running dogs of the Great White Rajah.
@willy6658
It would be easier to remove the poorest and weakest member, Russia. Their only support on the council comes from China, a country which does not even have universal recognition. Both of these states could easily be removed to be replaced with Germany and Japan
A security council consisting of the USA, UK, France, Germany and Japan would better represent the global power balance, and be much better equipped to settle global disputes, as we saw during the Korean War

It's unbelievable that the 2 most populous nations are neighbours. It's inevitable they will cooperate, despite some challenges, as they search for new markets for their products and produces. And when these two great nations work together with their complementary talents and resources, they will be the world's dual engines driving up global prosperity. Nothing could be done by the global north ti stop them.

So now we know why Canada is making false accusations. To set back India's ambitions to be a global responsible power.
India is smart in the political game. the border issue is just a "tool" to unite the whole country to act hostile toward China. India was thinking to benefit as much as possible from US and western governments when they are rivalling with Chinese. but the reality and facts show them that is not the case. Eventually, they didnt benefit much and India realised the comprehensive supply chain of China will determine the success of India. I think the Chinese know the Indian's strategy and they are pretty calm in dealing with India.
