- This is a compilation of all the fiery moments of the first quarter of the Haw vs North round 5 game 2015. The Hawks came out explosively after their thumping in the 1st quarter the week before against Port.
I wanted to show all the crazy moments so you can get a full picture of the events. It looks like it was a crazy night. Most of it was contained in the first quarter.
You can see towards the end that the two players Hodge and Lewis sat out till for about 2-3 minutes as a sort of way to say sorry for their aggression and make it even for the North players sent off.
As a result of the early aggression the Hawks captain, Luke Hodge, got suspended for 3 weeks and their vice-captain, Jordan Lewis, got suspended for 2 weeks.

Nobody answers so I will after a year aha, back then people that played cricket needed to keep fit on the off season so they made team, example north Melbourne was Called the shinbones because most them worked as butchers, this was like in the 1890 etc etc

I find it fascinating that for as violent a sport as this is, violence between fans is virtually nonexistent.

Lewis and Hodge showed their true colors in this game.
Luke Hodge showed his true colours when he got caught drink driving. Great player, terrible person.
I don't understand for the life of me why Hodge reacted like that to Swallow lightly tugging at his guernsey or why Hodge had Lindsay Thomas mounted like that in the first place. Not to mention trying to decapitate Chad Wingard against the goal post. Dude has something beyond a mean streak.
What about Michael Firrito? Every time someone gets pushed over he overreacts and turns feral.
You're kidding right? Its not badminton. Hodge is one of the fairest but toughest players that went around. He shouldn't have swung at swallow to start with but did nothing to Thomas.
& 2nd meeting with swallow, Hodge knew what was coming, let him make contact and then drew the free but letting him make contact again and letting momentum take them both to the ground. That's a free, swallow was an idiot for not letting it go.
It was just another day at the office for the Hawks but north for emotional.
Lewis on the other hand, he had a mean streak.

Hey mate it may be funny to watch for the first time because it looks like a messy game but theres alot of tactics and lots of different game plans. Anyways glad people like yourself from outside of australia are starting to notice this awesome game that we have all been loving for over 100 years!

AMW1able nah you shouldn’t cause you gotta go to tribunal and you might not even get suspended so you just play out the rest of the game
@@jaihanlan7781 deliberately taking a player out is quite different to accidentally taking a bloke out. Think Gaff on Brayshaw, Jonas on Gaff, etc... there's no way a player gets off at the Tribunal for those kinds of incidents. Should be out for the rest of the game plus suspended.
I hate how hawthorne hit two north players and if you watched an interview after the game jordan lewis said he thought he barely did anything
Lily Macrae Of course they say they thought they did nothing. 1.) To suck up to the tribunal. 2.) Trying to be tough still. 3.) It doesn't take much force when you punch a person in the face, especially if you are fit and strong like AFL players. 4.) He already had momentum from running and his weight.
He didn't actually swing at Goldstein, he just stuck his arm out and his momentum knocked him over. Still though, he didn't need to have that arm out like that.

I was at this game. The funniest thing was an American behind me going psycho barracking for the Roos. He clearly just about understood the rules, leading to much of his agro.
