$60000. That's obviously way too expensive. This car is worth about $29000.

The BOSE box in the back is not what emits the audible alert on the exterior of the car. Thats the bass box for the sound system. Who does your research CarsGuide?

I'm not against EV/PHEV/Hybrid cars (especially since I have a RAV4 Hybrid on order), but i'm against sub standard cars like the leaf being sold, with their one and only selling point being an EV. It simply screams a lack of effort. Apart from the EV drivetrain, the ammenities and interior are poorer than vehicles around half its price (i30, Civic, Mazda 3)

Although I am not a huge fan of electric cars, I must admit that the LEAF is not the most attractive. However, there is a lot of big competetors out there, so I suppose that should be okay. The auditory indication on the car's exterior is not produced by the bose box in the back. That's the sound system's bass box. Very cool! And great review! Thank you for the video!

Good review but I’m not sure if your prices are over hipped here in the UK you can buy a Nissan Leaf N-Connecta (mid-range model) for £23000, but the cheapest Tesla car comes in at £42000 so the Leaf makes more sense.👍

Have a 2020 leaf plus in the US. Has an electronic brake and steering wheel adjustment. Large US and New Jersey rebates bring it way below list. Been great. e-pedal and overhead view like and use a lot. Drive assist fun to play with, but don't use any more. Zero maintenance (so far) and charge in my driveway. Acceleration from low speeds great. Drives well.

I thought it didn't have telescopic adjustment for steering wheel...

Nissan New Zealand charges NZ$61,990 for the Leaf. We don't have the e+ version though. That's a lot of money and more than what most New Zealanders can afford. But that silent-quiet operational feel, and good for the environment. Then again charging takes much longer than it takes to refuel a petrol car, and a hybrid car even has 500km+ more range than even the e+ version. The NZ Government wants to be fossil fuel free by 2025, but that ain't going to happen. Maybe in 10 years time EV's will be cheaper AND... Toyota would of come out with an EV by then. The Leaf is cool, not really into the Hyundai.

The current policies of the NZ govt will end in 100's of thousand's of nzers not being able to afford a car. It is bat sh!t crazy what they are doing.

Never buy a Nissan Leaf ! I promise you that you will regret it after a few years. Both mine and my wife’s battery packs are slowly failing and Nissan refuses to do Anything about it. And yes they do have a way around the warranty! Consider yourself warned.

That tiny mention of V2G or v2h is the only reason why you consider this car. This is a massive difference considering a Battery is about $10-$15k for a quarter of battery to the Leaf e+ there is where the value is as you can charge you whole house not just a IPhone or a gaming console. Otherwise there are so many better EV options out there or about to be released just for EV purposes.

Or will it cannibalise itself and in 4 years time will it only hold enough charge for 70kms like in the first gen?

    • @EsenbekAliev_

no, it doesn't, none of Leafs come with battery cooling, it is good old air cooling which causes battery overheat when charging and driving

I own the old leaf and love it, I’ve done 20k of city driving so far and love it, I paid 14k for an import and based on degradation will get another 5 years or more for my needs. The new leaf has the same body, glass and door panels as the old 2011 model, these are not worth 60 plus K. I’ll have a Tesla thank you. I’d pay 40 for the 62kwh model and 25 for the 40kwh model. Sorry Nissan you know the leaf is dead and keep flogging it. Moving old tech when you have the Ariya ready. Don’t buy this , wait for the Ariya. Personally Hyundai Kona and Tesla shit all over Nissan right now. Terrible to sell 2011 tech now. Nothing amazing in 2021 about this.

I have a 2018 US model SL and it has electric parking brake... Love the e-pedal; been driving with it since day one! Mine's 40KW battery, still at full bars in 3 and a half years, level 2 charging at home is perfect for me. US models have a heat pump which is great for fast warm air in winter and fast cool air in summer. Summer range about 150 miles on full charge, winter more like 100 as battery capacity is considerably less below freezing. Hope this is useful info for you folks on the other side of the equator.
