I use the pearl EXR strata black sizes 14x14, 16x16, and 22x18, I use remo vintage coated emperors and clear ambassadors ,for the kick I use aquarian super kick 2 and the front I use aquarian articulater with a kick port in it. My snare is a dw super solid 14x5.5 and that i use ambassador x coated and a ambassador bottom. I also use a low tuning approach and they sound great, I love these drums I wish they made a 18x18 or even a 18x16 floor tom but sadly it is not an option size for these drums
Cool! They are great looking/sounding drums! The black strata is awesome...don't seem them very often. I have some new heads on the way. Since this video, I added another 10" tom. Couldn't find a 8", so I'm just tuning one up and the other one down a little.
@@ARDrummer it's hard finding certain sizes for these drums, pearl put then out during the limpbisket or nu metal area, so big bass drum small Tom sizes, that 14x14 was a hanging floor Tom original and then I had to order the 16x16 floor tom, I've like this kit so much that I bought the fusion size kit as well, 20x18 , 10,12, 14x15 floor. They are a great kit all the way around, but finding sizes or ordering sizes to expand can be very hard, love your channel keep up the good work
@@josephmiddleton4422 PDP did the same thing with their Mexican made drums CX, MX etc. 10, 12, 14 toms with deep kick drum. I am really liking how these drums look and sound. My first kit was a blue Export kit in 1995 I think....so it has come full circle :) Glad you are enjoying my channel...Happy New Year!
@@ARDrummer I should've got another DW pedal but went with the PDP pedal, same company, but the response is not good.i have tried and tried but I will never own another 1 of these. New Tamas crappie pedal.
@@ARDrummer I believe it would've saved me money in the long run because now I have to go and get another pedal. The pedal on my Alesis is way better. So I have been using it.
I am going through my comments and I just answered this question on the Tama snare demo video, lol. :) I usually tune my toms to the lower end of each drums tuning range. Pretty much get the resonate head just tight enough to take the creases out and get a good note with no weird overtones...same on the top but a little tighter.
An awesome kit and some excellent drumming... guess it's fun to sit there ✌🌹
Thanks! Sitting/playing in the drum room is pretty amazing :)
Looking forward to the first cover with them!! They sound pretty good!!🤘🤘

They sound good my friend. And the lower tone is for sure where they need to be. What bass drum pedal are you using.
I'm using an old Pearl double pedal I have had since the late 90's

The DW 5000 cant got wrong,.

I believe that was a Dream Bliss paper thin crash...can't remember the size though.
Snare sounds great 👌 +9
thanks!
Very nice! Would ask what you paId but don't want to be envious the rest of the day.
Wasn't my best deal for a mile....but still good though....$300 for the shell pack

I think it's not bad considering the kit that it is. Congrats!!

Dang, man! They sound great! How do you approach tuning your toms?
