Absolutely BEAUTIFUL drum kit :)
About 15 months (long story). I like the STL lugs better because they have the swivel function, but are smaller and classier than the BRL lugs IMO.

When I discovered the kit was finished incorrectly, I talked to John Goode from DW. He was very nice, but he tried to steer me away from drums I wanted (mainly the 6" concert toms and the Gong Drum). Also, DW's price was $10,000 more than my kit, and was MISSING several features that come standard with Pearl Masterworks drums.

Thanks Scott! I've been playing them for almost a year now. I've shot a bunch of videos with them, and they've sounded great all the way through. I'm making one more video, then I will be breaking the kit down for cleaning and new heads. It should be quite an endeavor!

I was just happy they made it safely... and the boxes were almost flawless. I started bringing them in right away, so they didn't sit outside for long.
That's a nice touch... I remember the shells already looked nice, but yours must look even nicer! The inner plies of mahogany are so rich and beautiful, I am thinking about a whole kit of 100% mahogany shells!

The mixed woods sounds like a beautiful combination .. Bubinga is an amazing wood. I have a double bass Tama starclassic BB .. Hybrid shells are the way to go .
DUDE, Ive never seen anyone use an external bass drum with highat side hand... except I play open handed, so mines on the left.

Masterworks drums can be ordered through your favorite Pearl Drums dealer, like Drums on Sale in Hagerstown, MD or Drum Center of Portsmouth. If you go on the Pearl Drums website, and look up "Masterworks", you will eventually find order forms that can be filled out to make sure you pick every detail you want for each drum. The kick drum heads can be ordered from Vintage Logos on the internet.
What kind of shells are these?
They were mahogany inner plies, middle plies of maple, and an outer ply of exotic bubinga. The shells were very thick, and Pearl didn't cut the edges the way I ordered them, so I sold these about 7 or 8 years ago.
Pearl did a mohagony kit .. And I just remembered how beautiful the interior shells looked .. By they way they sounded awesome.

Yes they do... Pearl's customer service does anything they can reasonably do to help their customers, and keep them up and drumming!

Ruger is a nice piece. I have the S&W version of the AR-15, called M&P15.
That's impressive, I'd never have the patience to set up a monster like that. I presume you don't gig with it? And if not i was just really curious as to what kind of setup you use for gigs?
I built that rack for my 2009 Masters Premium kit. When the Masterworks kit arrived, I just made some adjustments to it. If I get a new kit, I will do the same thing... just make adjustments. I am changing mic booms now.

They are AKG C-418 clip on mics, which have been discontinued for quite some time. I have several extra in case any stop working. I really like them for how small they are and how well they work.

nathan harris Thanks Nathan... but no reason to feel sorry. Pearl made some nice kits for me over the years. In a few years, I will get a new kit made from another company. I'm just not sure which yet :)
Pain in the ass to tune this whole kit at once
That kit is LONG gone. I didn't have any trouble keeping the drums in tune. My new kit, Tama Starclassic Bubinga, tunes up easily, and stays in tune well.
