I love that you share your talents with us! I also love that you are real life and have your children playing in the background. I love real life and wish more people weren't afraid to be that way. Thank you!!
What a wonderful video, I'm so happy that I came across this and plan to watch your full range to learn as much as I can. Apart from your skilled painting and great teaching ability, I love that you are so generous in sharing your experience and knowledge freely. Thank you very much!
I love all your videos, and especially how positive you are about your art, it makes me so happy to hear your say your art is beautiful (which is completely is, it's just sometimes artists struggle to see their own work as good, I know i do a lot) I'm just starting watercolor, I've been oil painting for years now and thought I'd try a new medium and your videos have helped me a ton. Thank you for making them!
I have watched you paint some very beautiful and sophistocated paintings but I also enjoy watching your tips for beginners, being a beginner myself. I'll have to check your website for additional beginner videos. Thanks for sharing your talents.
I love the fluid leaves technique. Very helpful to watch you paint once more! Beautiful lilies and such interesting leaves with just a few brush strokes!
Thank you for sharing your artistic talent Angela! I kinda understand a little bit more of how to paint a leaf and leaf's in a abstract. Thanks again 😊😎 FL.
Great video..as a botanical/ nature artist leaves are a big part of my art and sometimes struggle a bit at painting leaves. You make it look ao easy. Thanx for sharing your video and was a great help.
Did you know??? During the formation of green leaves, trees and other green stalked plants start out "RED"! And why is that you might ask??? Well the cell walls when the leaf is just forming are not opaque, and due to the Photosysthetic process of tossing electrons around from one ring to another, when any ring gets unstable and has too many electrons, it gives up an electron to a lower ring, and gives off a laser red photon of light, and that is why at the start of spring, you see soooo many red leaf trees, but they eventually turn green! Sooooo....Photosynthesis starts out red and turns green due to the building of the cellulose within the leaf! TAA-DAA!
@Weedus actually, the first sign of spring growth on its way in decuduious trees is a reddish hue to the newest growth. The sak is moving up. Happens every year here, usually in February. And it's happy dance time because it's a sign that yes, spring really is coming.
live this demo right now I've been using Sennelier watercolour and like them alot as for ordering I have to do that online as well I'm not sure what companies that are out there anymore that's really good to deal with and have a good selection of watercolours any suggestions? can't order outside of Canada because of the low dollar :)
My favorite paint is DaVinci and American Journey by Cheap Joe's....He has three artist's that have their favorites in Amer. Jo. and these are Joe Miller, Don Andrews and Skip Laurence...You get 12, 15 Ml tube colors for $99.00...American is produced by DaVinci, and so, you can get the special mixes by Joe Miller or straight colors from DaVinci. Enjoy! I think I will take you up on MamriBlue just for fun and games!
What 'weight' is your water colour paper? I normally paint on something around 185 to 200 gsm. Is that heavy enough for the degree of 'wetness' you use, or will it buckle too much? I do love that 'loose' look of your paintings, thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Thank you for such a quick answer! As I am off to my art store (the only one in Townsville in Far North Australia where I live) this morning, so your answer came just at the right time. Although I have used watercolours over 35 years as a Teaching & professional Calligrapher, the decoration has been tiny and precise, so with painting "big" I am very much a beginner and finding it hard to be so lovely and 'loose' as your work is. Thank you for sharing your videos, they are a great help, and I intend having a go at a green leaf this weekend. I will get there!!
I have a question: how does the water stay moist on your paper for so long? When I paint, it seems to dry so quickly, even if I use a fair amount of water. It's so that I can't really go back and add colors or anything, I have to work super quickly. Is it something to do with the brushes I'm using, or the paper?
***** Thank you so much! I didn't even think twice about buying Arches, it looked insanely expensive. But after a little digging I found that's not necessarily the case. I absolutely love your art, tutorials and videos, and plan to enroll in an online class :)
Does it matter what kind of paper is used? My painting did not emerge like yours -- using Canson 140 lb and the leave is a much lighter green than your leaf - used QOR and Cotman watercolors. I'm frustrated.

I watched you in the beginning and I watch you now --- we have both grown and you are always a joy ... thank you so very much for sharing Angela ...
