The DCU Green Lantern Casting is a bit Weird

- After what seemed like an unusual turn of events of Josh Brolin apparently being offered the role of Hal Jordan on Lanterns before turning it down showing us how Hal is going to be significantly older than what we assumed, we have now gotten our official Hal Jordan casting, I was hoping for the 44 year old Chris Pine but instead they went even older, casting 59 year old Kyle Chandler in the role.

Gotta wait another 10 years for an accurate depiction of Hal Jordan
@@Batx0123LOLXD yep
At bare minimum
Turns out that the most accurate adaptation of Hal Jordan that we gonna have is Ryan Reynolds!

I was really hoping for a young Hal Jordan for the new universe. Get to see him on many adventures and as a founding JL member. Tbf we don’t know what’s gonna happen in the universe yet but idk man….
Wanted a young start to Hal and other lanterns like Kyle Rayner (my favorite lantern) start to come into play.
Same
u know there is a big chance for prequel film we will see hal again the DCU is going to somewhat similar to star wars we going to get projects that are from the past and future
Same.
@@Baemon_pinkblink Gunn hates Hal more than he hates Taserfacd so why would he waste another project on him?
It couldn't been Chris Pratt... for Hal Jordan or Booster Gold...
They should put in Jessica Cruz and cast a really sexy and hot latina :)
Salma Hayek
Emeraude Toubia 😏

I'm onboard with this casting because Chandler's a great actor who I think can nail the part of a veteran Hal in a gritty detective style story. Yep, he's older, but his real age as an actor matters far less than what he is able to play on screen. They have a very definite vision for the story they want to tell with this series, which is a good thing, and it makes perfect sense in a universe where heroes have existed for ages and some have been at it for many years.
This is the correct take
I'm sorry Hal jordan fans. 😢
As a Hal Jordan fan I don't know how to feel about this casting 😢
it’s tough time for us
@@FingerGamers3 fr it is 😔 we only have one win right now & it's that Hal & Carol are (spoil Alert) finally back together
I've been a Hal fan since pre-Crisis, then grew to be a John fan too, and I'm good with this casting
I am too should’ve kept Ryan Renoods
People seem to forget that James Gunn has stated this universe is star wars-like in the sense that there will be multiple time periods. Just because Hal may be gone in the present, we can still get animated shows/games/movies that take place in his prime and tell his story more in depth.
Yeah it’s the whiny fans that love to complain about not getting what they want.😂😂😂😂

I’m just hoping this lantern show isn’t the only time we see hal Jordan. Again I don’t mind John as the main lantern but I definitely don’t wanna see just a season of hal. Just have hal in the show and use him whenever necessary
Hal is my favorite dc character and the fact that this his only second live action appearance it makes me sad knowing he’s not gonna be in this universe for the long run. He deserves better especially after the 2011 movie but atlas maybe in another life
Yes man he does deserve better
Man this absolutely sucks
F*ck Gunn
F*ck DCU
Hal Jordan is my favourite DC character. I was finally very excited when Lanterns was announced but DC is completely disrespecting him at this point
He's such a good character. He's the best Lantern not John. He deserves his whole solo trilogy with an actor like Jensen Ackles, Chris Evans or Scott Eastwood
Hal is way better than John Stewart and deserves to be the main lantern of DCU
Yes he is I have been asking for a trilogy of him for years
@@eliteghost1001 exactly and this paedo Gunn isn't giving us one neither did Snyder
Don't know wtf are they so obsessed with John who's nothing in front of Hal Jordan
@zeshanwattoo1046 actually I think Snyder had a plan for Hal and the lanterns but WB didnt allow it.
Originally, John was supposed to show up at the end of Snyder Justice league.
Now even though nothing was ever announced, I think there was supposed to be a Green Lantern movie set in the snyder verse because they had already drew up concept art for Hal and he was supposed to be the one leading the entire green lantern cor to fight darksied army in JL3.
@@joey3654 then why was John Stewart appearing in the end of the film
Plus I always liked Snyder's vision and wanted him to complete it before moving on. But if that was the plan it would've been dope
I always want Hal Jordan as the main lantern
I don't know how to feel about this casting, my goat deserves a chance to shine 😔
I prefer Hal Jordan young
I need to know his story
DC/Warner tried to tell his story, but fails
People is waiting
I'm in the same boat as you, I rather & prefer that Hal was young
They might tell it in a prequel show or movie, who knows.
I would've loved to see his Rivalry and history with Sinestro.
If they wanted an older GL, use alan Scott.
@@faith4657 I'm pretty sure that they also want to do Parallax
Hal is THE DEFINITIVE Green Lantern. He never had a great live action adaptation. DCAU and Tomorrowverse both didn't use Hal as the main Lantern. Only DCAMU used him and they didn't do him justice. Now DCU probably won't use him as the main Lantern. Hal Jordan deserves better
Isn’t the “definitive” Green Lantern kinda inconsistent?
Sometimes he is the rascal, unruly guy with a heart of gold like in the Green Lantern animated series.
Other times he is the Boy Scout who follows authority barely questioning it, like in the run he shares with Green Lantern.
@@Victor-qx3vx Not really.
The most popular Green Lantern run starts with Hal becoming a proper GL again. The whole story from Sinestro War to Blackest Night features him heavily and at a lot of times they hammer home that Hal is the one with the most willpower (even when characters like Kyle get to become a white Lantern).
When there were no Lanterns anymore, he forged his own Ring.
When he was given omnipotence, he showed the restraing to explore it's possibilities and then remove the power from him, because he knew it would not end well.
As of recently, Hal has managed to channel the power of a Green Lantern WITHOUT a ring.
It's easy to debate who the best Lantern is, or the coolest or the most fun to read. I myself am quite fond of Kyle Rainer.
But the comics make it clear rather consistently that Hal Jordan is the one who most personifies what a Green Lantern ought to be.
@@Victor-qx3vx That's what happens when you have multiple writers with their own takes on characters. The same thing happened with Batman.
ok guys , be prepared to say goodbeye to barry too
this dude LOOKS like Hal .. but goddamn 60 ?!?!
Im not gonna lie; Kyle Chanler as Hal Jordan is a pretty solid casting. I still dont love the idea of Hal being played by an actor who's almost 60, but he's certainly a better pick for Hal than Josh Brolin.
Im just sad this implies that Hal won't be staying around in the DCU for long as Im scared they'll adapt the Parallax arc in this series and then kill off Hal Jordan just like that without exploring his character and how much of a quintessential character he was to the Green Lantern mythos and characters like Sinestro who's rivalry is too iconic to ignore, as his rivalry with Sinestro could've made for such epic built up cinematic conflict for a trilogy of GL films. I worry that since they're making Hal older, they may not adapt his iconic rivalry with Sinestro since Hal and Sinestro are such pivotal rivals in the Green Lantern comics, given their history as former partners and how different they are with such a unique dynamic, as I also fear they'll just make Sinestro John Stewart's arch enemy instead, as even though they have fought before, they don't have that interesting relationship and juxtaposition that makes Sinestro and Hal so entertaining.
Look, I love John, as he was always my favourite GL when I was growing up.
However, there is a small part of me that still wishes that they could have Hal & John share the spotlight equally as the main GL's of the DCU, with Hal up in space & John on Earth with he Justice League, but whatever, Kyle Chndler as Hal is still a solid casting.
I'm not against seeing an older Hal Jordan but 60 is a bit much.
Same but I need a younger Hal Jordan in life action because he still hasn't gotten the time to shine
it's probably because his peak and or starting point was in the 80s
i think Gunn is taking notes from the "everything is canon" approach like in the comics written by Grant Morrison where you'll reference and try to incorporate different canons into one
@@owalterluan And why does that specifically apply to Hal and not someone like Superman. Not saying I want a 60-year-old Superman either but why does that specifically have to be in his 60s.
@@The_Phantasm Maybe he wants to have some sense of legacy from one Lantern to another? The comics play fast and loose with it because characters really don’t age and we as fans are forgiving, but it never made sense for Earth to have four Green Lanterns, all within the same age group and operating simultaneously.
Remember we were told Henry Cavil was too old to play Superman. But we're getting an older batman and green lantern
They want a younger Superman. They never said all of the characters would be younger as well.
The truth is… they just wanted an actor with a little more range, oh and also younger.
I'm pretty sure Batman is going to be around Superman's age.
@@AlkalineInsidesThey should have said that from the very beginning instead of making that show of lies and hypocrisy
@@suryasingh9738With a teenage son???
Batman is gonna be at least in his 40s.
I like James Gunn and I support him in the new DCU but the series of Lanterns I think need to develop the Hal Jordan character and makes 4 or 5 movies with him.
Also Lanterns has interesting characters and can do movies with John Steward, Laila, Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz
There's enough Lanterns to feature across the chapters and Gunn has already tossed 2 of them aside, one if whom being the main GLM
Idk how to feel about an older Hal Jordan. Like I always wanted them for Hal, at least a bit younger but a vet, then bring in John (who is kinda around the same ish age but younger than Hal) and showing him the ropes.
I know John is the fan favorite, but could we at least have Hal some love because he isn't. But i digress.
James Gunn is CLEARLY going for an older Hal Jordan, a Hal Jordan that’s been Green Lantern for quite a while by the time Kal-El becomes Superman for the first time. And…if that’s what he’s going for, then okay…yeah, Kyle Chandler fits the part. It’s definitely better casting than Brolin, McConaughey, or McGregor
If he wanted an excuse to use an older green lantern he could’ve just used Alan Scott. No reason to give us an older Hal to start off a new universe but I digress
@@brucardi He clearly wants to get rid of Hal to make way for John Stewart.
Alan Scott isn't a traditional green lantern. It doesn't make sense to have Alan Scott training John Stewart when their rings don't work the same.@@brucardi
It works if their goal is to sideline him immediately for more diverse Lanterns. I'm just saying it because it seems to be the trend these days. 😂
I can see where you are coming from, but since John is still a well known character, and from the casting of "Superman" we can see that they haven't raced swapped anyone (from what I have seen) so I think it is a part of an actual vision for the universe and not just pandering.
Looks like WB refuses to be smart .
Chris pine is right mf there ..
i’m excited to see what he brings, he’s a very solid actor. i don’t really care that they want an older Hal Jordan, i just want more Green Lantern content
Ok, I wanna stay optimistic about everything with the Green Lanterns in the DCU but honestly I’m feeling a little bit skeptical, and I hate saying that
It's in talks. It's not official yet
so 59 year old cast as green lantern BUT fired Henry cavill and Ben affleck because are too older? what´s going on with James Gunn, this is a secure FLOP for this DCU
Another 8 years of misery from wb nothing new
Cavill and affleck were never coming back bruh
Lol, same thing you said about the Batman that the movie is going to flop because of Pattinson, and now when the movie came out you all glazing all over it, just keep your judgement until the movie comes out
I like it, it's all about acting capabilities
Maybe it if was Alan Scott
And is it not possible to find a 40-year-old actor with good acting skills?
Well, James Gunn seems to be basing his universe off the 90s DC, and Hal was definitely close to 50 by those white stripes. I could see Parallax as the main villain, and possessing Hal Jordan….
Of all the stories, he picks the worst one and Hal looked 50, he wasn't 50 and John wasn't exactly young.
Best case scenario is they make Hal the greatest GL that carries the first season on his back n becomes parallax in season 2 then becomes the spectre of the DCU onwards, gives respect to his character while sticking to source material n is a good excuse on why he’d stick around at an older age
Kyle Chandler is 59 years old and Nathan Fillion is 53 years old, so that means Hal Jordan is the first DCU Green Lantern. The only film that I can see Lanterns setting up with his terrifying mystery is Justice League Blackest Night and that would be DC Studios equivalent to Avengers Infinity War & Avengers Endgame, but before you can do Justice League Blackest Night Batman has to die, so the ending to DCU Chapter One Gods and Monsters will be Justice League Final Crisis and then DCU Chapter Two will end with Justice League Blackest Night. James Gunn even said this about Lanterns back during January 31, 2023 "In it, they discover a terrifying mystery that ties into our larger story of the DCU." James Gunn didn't say that the "terrifying mystery" would end DCU Chapter One Gods and Monsters, James Gunn actually meant that it would continue through DCU Chapter One Gods and Monsters & DCU Chapter Two, that means Kyle Chandler actually does have a film he will come back for, that being Justice League Blackest Night but he will return as a Black Lantern, NOT a Green Lantern.
@@theorycraftingmachine2876 what is broski jabbering about
They're not ending chapter one with final crisis, I don't even think they'll introduce darkseid at all in the first chapter of their cinematic universe.
@@The.Usurper Yes they will end DCU Chapter One Gods and Monsters with Justice League Final Crisis. There is no other storylines besides the two I talked about, that fit James Gunn's plan.
I think chapter 1 is just like phase one of marvel. So they likely won't end the first phase with darkside, maybe someone more like reverse flash, amazo, or brainiac. Like how Loki is a Thor villain and was the enemy in the avengers movie.@@theorycraftingmachine2876
Is it impossible for the blackest night to be adapted without Batman dying and with another green lantern besides Hal? And if not, why?
That is a genuine question I haven't read the comic.
Hoping we get an older Barry Allen now
On the positive side. If DCU’s casting older actors to play iconic heroes. There might be a chance we could see Jensen Ackles as Batman
I hope it's the case
Otherwise f*CK Gunn
I’ve seen people compare this to Hank Pym in Ant-Man where they clearly cast a much older actor for Hank so Scott Lang could be the main Ant-Man on the Avengers.
It looks like they’re doing the same thing with Hal Jordan which is really unfortunate because you lose out on so many great Green Lantern stories if you just skip over Hal and go straight to John. It obviously looks like Gunn wants the Bruce Timm JL roster for his films. If you look at the other DC heroes showing up in the Superman movie most of them are played by older actors expect for Hawkgirl which makes me think she’ll stick around longer the others.
I would have taken Glen Powell or Chris Pine
James Marsden would have been the best pick imo

You are the GOAT. (The Black Lion).
The Universe is just beginning...
Cast a Young Actor for almost every Role...
Make them look old if the story demands, But the Actor must be YOUNG 😮💨
To me this just smells of changing things for the sake of changing things. So far tbh I have little to no interest in this DCU.
You don't always have to change things in an adaptation, sometimes it's okay just to adhere mostly to the source material. We already had the more "experimental" version of this universe with the failed DCEU and the lackluster animated "tomorrowverse".
So far I'm likely going to be a pass on this.
They are definitely killing him off in the near future. DC has always done Hal Jordan dirty, which pisses me off. Look I like John Stewart he’s awesome but Hal is my favourite Green Lantern and I just don’t know about casting an older actor
This has me worried that James is gonna make Barry Allen and Oliver Queen older as well
I actually don't mind this casting...but tbh, I've never really cared about Hal Jordan anyway, so...
He’s in talks to play Hal Jordan, nothing confirmed yet
I agree. It's not that I hate John, but come on, man, Hal Jordan is the best Green lantern focus on him first, then maybe like lanterns season 2, then introduce John Stewart
Just cause they wanted Jon Stewart as the main Green Lantern doesn’t mean they couldn’t have casted a younger Hal Jordan to have his own adventures in space, so disappointing, but that being said Kyle Chandler is a great pick for what they’re going for
Guess I’m the only one happy because to me Jon Stewsrd is the lantern I wanted and 90% of people was saying The same thing before they learned about the lanterns show
Nope not watching guess all I’m seeing is Superman and Batman Brave and The Bold
I think he’s 60 years old a veteran because I think somewhere weather in this show or along the DC animated series, TV shows and movies they are going to make Parallax take over and possess Hal and maybe James Gunn’s different take.
Also Lanterns should not be a movie because it would bomb due to green lanterns history lanterns should start as a shoe then he should get a movie

I'd say it pretty disappointing we won't have a proper Hal Jordan story.
If it was going to be set on earth they might as well do an adaptation of Hard Travelling Heroes. Also is John Stewart going to be taking Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner Stories? Also are we getting Beware my Power again?
This universe is lowkey doomed. Why are we starting it with so much established lore that fans will have to make up in their heads rather than seeing it grow organically on screen like the MCU.
I wouldn't say it is doomed for starting out later. Everyone knows the origins for Batman and Superman, so we don't need those movies covering that.
Plus, in shows like Young Justice they would intentionally skip ahead 5 years in between seasons so that they could set up questions for the viewers to ask from the beginning. And having the fans come up with their own head cannons until the answers are provided is a good way to build talk/buzz about the universe and their next movie as well as make people more intrigued. But that's just my opinion.
I like Hal more than jon. There, I said it
I'm gonna take this with a grain of salt because idk if james gunn has confirmed this or not
100% agree with everything you said in this video. Usually I disagree with at least one or two things that YTers say in their videos regarding this type of news, but there wasn’t one thing I disagreed with here. I just hope it turns out for the best.
This is the one time me and James Gunn will have to disagree😂 (outside of saying sum old stuff might be canon)
Kyle Chandler is almost 60 but come on. With some makeup and good lighting, he can easily pass for late 40s
Why not just cast someone that is already in their 40s.
Also, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo were a decade older than Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth and no one minded that.

John Stewart’s awesome. But I want Hal to get a good live action adaptation first. I just hope that they blow me away with his character so much that I won’t mind him staying for 1 season
I’m sorry but he does does not look younger than his age, his eyes are enough to tell me that he’s pushing 60
I love Hal Jordan as a Green Lantern. Kyle is a good actor too but I'm really disappointed in the casting and the decision in general. To make such a great character old right at the beginning of a new cinematic universe and not tell his story across several years is bullshit. I understand they want John Stewart to be the main lantern but in Justice League he was always the first Hal Jordan who was never over 40. Hal shouldn't be that old and if he has to be they should have cast someone who isn't as old as Kyle who is 60. For example, Chris Pinne, who would be a perfect fit for him, not only charismatically but visually. I don't see Kyle as a green Lantern and even if the show was good I'm really taken aback by all this. If only they had cast an actor at least 15 years younger but I guess if they wanted his old one they don't quite count on him for the next movies and kill him off and Jon steward takes his place right away. Anyway, I guess the series will be good but if they had done this story about an older cop training a new Lantern at least a few years later if the characters already knew each other and experienced something like in avengers, I couldn't say anything at all and would even enjoy it.
Kyle Chandler will really work, but I'm curious to see his action in the film and who he plays off.
I don't care about his age, as long as he does the role justice (No pun intended.)
What’s stopping them from telling any of these characters that’s stories are already unfolded in the dcu with prequel series/movies. Like I expect to very much see dicks story in full through the dcu even if he is nightwing already. We could see Hal’s green lantern story without being hampered by the other characters tying down the green lantern lore
What if Marvel couldn’t use Captain America, but they could use the Hulk. What I mean is that Universal owned the wrights to Captain America, and the MCU only had one Captain America movie, and Marvel owned the wrights to the Hulk and could give him a full trilogy. How would this change the MCU. Would Marvel have to decline Sony offering Spider-man to join the MCU because Captain America Civil War won't happen? Could we have She-Hulk, Red Hulk, the Leader in a Hulk sequel? Could we get an Ironman 4? Will Thor Ragnarok be any different? And most importantly? Will we even see The Falcon and Winter Soldier in the Infinity Saga? Please make this video.
Black Lion I have a idea for a future video, since you been doing the whole ‘what if Marvel or DC or any in a cinematic universe’ how about one is ‘What if Marvel & DC work together to create a shared universe’ Yes I know this would probably never happen (Or maybe never say never) but is obviously what if see if Disney & Warner Brother decided to work together and create a shared universe for both properties. Again it just a what if of how you would think if MCU & DCEU come together as a one shared universe. And no I don’t want Amalgam! No just no gosh no just have both separate with but have a shared universe, but I’m okey if you decide to merge team like ‘Avengers & Justice Leage’ or ‘Teen Titans, Young Justice, & Young Avengers’ I’m okey with that but please! No Amalgam.
There are plenty of storied where Hal is depicted as older and it's not like Green Lantern is a role that requires a ton of physicality anyway and i bet they just want to have him there but have room for our main justice league lantern be either John Stewart or Kyle Rainer
Everything about this dcu seems terrible. Like everything that has leaked is does not look good. Gunn hasnt helped with his statements and hypocrisy.
Booted cavill for a younger superman. Ok, that sucks but if its a fresh universe- i can understand.
Yet, batman already has a kid... so batman is older. Hal jordan is way older. Superheroes have been around for a while. Wtf?
Yet he keeps other actors that were from the dceu who are already older. So, it's not a complete reboot.
Wtf is going on???
Kyle Chandler is a solid choice for the role of Hal Jordan, even though the decision to cast an older actor may seem unexpected to some fans. His ability to bring charisma, authority, and a sense of experience fits the role of a seasoned hero. In this universe, Superman has been a protector for years, and it makes sense that Hal Jordan would also be a veteran hero who has seen and dealt with many events. The idea of an older Hal gives the impression that superheroes in this timeline have already gone through significant challenges, and the focus now is shifting to newer heroes like John Stewart.
However, while John Stewart seems to be getting the main focus in this series, both John and Hal deserve equal attention. Hal Jordan is central to so much of the Green Lantern lore, and sidelining him or reducing his role is disappointing, especially for fans of the character. If the rumors about them taking Hal down the Parallax route and possibly turning him into a villain are true, it could hurt the legacy of Hal Jordan and the broader Green Lantern universe. Hal’s role in the Green Lantern mythos is too rich and important to be reduced to a tragic fall from grace.
The Green Lantern lore has so much potential, just like Aquaman’s, and both deserve to have their full stories explored. If Hal’s story isn’t told properly in Lanterns, it will feel like a missed opportunity. There’s so much to dive into: his relationship with Carol Ferris, his rivalry with Sinestro, and his own journey as a hero. These key elements of his character shouldn’t be skipped over. Even if the current series focuses on an older Hal, there’s always the opportunity to explore a younger Hal in future prequels, which could give fans a deeper look into his relationships, including the complex dynamic with Carol and the philosophical clashes with Sinestro.
If rumors about Melissa Benoist being cast as Star Sapphire/Carol Ferris are true, it would make even more sense to cast a younger Hal Jordan in the future to fully explore their relationship. The casting and storyline of Hal Jordan have so much potential, and it’s disappointing to see him sidelined or to see *Lanterns* focus more on terrestrial adventures rather than the cosmic scale that fans have been hoping for. Hal Jordan’s journey and development as a hero are essential to Green Lantern lore, and skipping over those important beats to jump to the end of his story is a missed opportunity.
Overall, while Kyle Chandler may fit the current vision of an older Hal Jordan, it’s hard not to feel like fans are missing out on seeing Hal’s full journey and the rich storytelling opportunities that come with it.
Speaking on Green Lantern, To those that know the character of guy gardner, Whats he like in the comic books? Im used to hal jordan and jon Stewart. What can we expect from him, personalty wise?
I don’t completely agree with your assessment. It’s seems to me that they are trying to pass the torch to Jon Stewart. And also remember that Hal Literally is older in the comics (New 52 aside). During the whole Paralax saga he was obviously wisened and older, with gray hair to boot.
It also strikes me that you’re making sweeping judgments ability to play the roll without watching his body of work.
What he did on Friday night lights has big Hal Jordan Energy (although he’s not as jerky) and his arc on Gray’s Anatomy will leave you shook. Check that out and then see if you want to change your mind
Maybe Lanterns is the more John focused series
While a GL Movie (though I doubt WB will greenlight such an expensive property in this era of superhero movies) could be a prequel about Sinestro’s fall and all that emotional spectrum business

they should of gone for a glenn powel or miles teller
I dig this casting, but I only see him doing maybe 2 to 3 projects max, unless they just want an older Hal for a while I’m okay with it. There’s so many other interesting lantern characters that deserve a live action adaptation like John or even Kyle Rayner

I hear and resonate with your feelings. I’m personally a John Stewart fan over Hal Jordan, and look forward to him being the main green lantern for the justice league. But I agree they could have kept Hal alive and had him lead the outer space stuff. But who knows, nothing is set in stone yet and we don’t know the whole plan yet.
What if they make a Animated prequel miniseries with how Jordan and Gardner since they’re so old giving their history?
Im sad now
Hal Jordan needs to be in Multiple DCU movies similar to the comics that we saw Hal, John, Kyle, and Guy in The Sinestro Corps War and throughout The War of Light/Blackest Night.
So you know that mistake the DCEU made with Batman where he's already past the end in his debut and all character arcs and cool adventures happened offscreen well it's that again but with green lantern.
I don't understand james gunn confirmed that the dcu will be more like star wars that it will be set in different timelines like some projects will be set in the past like paradise lost and the potentially justice society of america movie and the sergent rock movie and some will be set in the present it's that simple. They could introduce hal as a veteran in lanterns and then make a prequel movie/show about hal jordan about his origins and all so it's ok

Dark universe be with the complete structure of the MCU"
They made him that old because they plan to kill him off just like they did before in the most recent cartoon imagining Hal Jordan gets To shine as more mature version of himself, I like this pic
Hal Jordan will be dead by the end of S1. Whether or not it will be meaningful and respectful to the character is the question.
Age aside, I don’t know his acting, so I’ll make up my mind even I actually watch it, but in the long, it does seem short sighted
He looks early 50s. He looks like Hal Jordon. Wolf of Wall Street...I can so see it! Chris Pine looks nothing like Hal.
3:16 It's too early to tell, but the DCU might include prequels featuring younger actors portraying earlier versions of the characters.
Guys give it a chance. All might was in his 50’s and is one of the most exciting anime heroes. The “One more fight” storyline… can be very exciting. They can really draw it out too.
i feel greenlantern corp is one of underutilized franchise and which has high potential for a huge franchise with a lot of stories to tell, i mean it's a like a comic book star wars

I’m so disappointed by this 😪 I fkn love Hal Jordan
I started reading comics about the time Blackest Night started so I got into all the Green Lantern stuff during the Hal Jordan renaissance and I’m a big fan of his. But I’m not gonna sit hear and say that the eventual Green Lantern movie has to star Hal over John, Guy, or Kyle to be good. The other 3 are all capable of carrying a film so if Hal isn’t present much in this DC universe, so be it. I’m sure the movies will be rebooted and we’ll have another chance to see Hal star in a movie in a decade or two.
Oh, also, Kyle Chandler is great. Very happy with the casting
