How to build DIY Pond Covers to Winterize your pond.

- In this video, I show you how I built DIY covers for my pond. Winter is coming and I need to winterize my pond. Pond covers will provide the most protection, keeping cold wind from making contact with the surface water and trapping heat in the pond.

Pond size 12"x8"x5" Approx. 3590 Gallons
Box-weld liner
Pond walls Earth and Railroad ties (sleepers).
Railroad ties 7"x9" 3 layers stacked to get an above ground height of 27 inches.
Dug down 33" and install a Koi Toilet 3" bottom drain.
Overall water depth 58 inches.
24"x48" glass viewing window.
Filter system #1 DIY Sieve into 3 55 gal barrel moving bed system.
Filter system #2 Pond Skimmer fed into a Bakki shower system.
Might try to incorporate some aquaponics in down the road.

My second year with the pond and I cover this year and happy with the result so far
In terms of celsius, we have gotten down to -8, the pond is holding at 8. Koi are still eating and active.
