  • The code which can be reset by pressing the heated wash then heated dry one after the other making all the lights come on. But if it comes back its an issue with the heating cycle. Take the control board out and remove it from its housing. Check the back of the board for any burnt circuits. Mine had a burnt one on the relay for the heating cycle. All I did was resoder it and tried it again. fixed it. So don't buy a new control board until you try soder first. this Can save you money. Check your heating coil inside the dishwasher too if its cracked or bubbled or blistered that could be a problem too if your control board doesnt have any signs of a burnt circuit that will give you the 7 clean light blinking code. Indicating a Heating problem.

While watching this video, For S&G, I pushed the wash and dry buttons as you say to make the lights come on and was surprised that it worked. We were pricing new washers, now we don't need to yet. Thank you, you saved us a ton of money we couldn't afford to spend.

Thank you Ramsey! I happened to come across this video after my Whirlpool Quiet Partner II starting doing the same thing. I didn't see anything visibly wrong with heating coil and it kept recurring after it was reset. I checked the circuit board and looked identical and was burned in the same exact spot! Luckily I had the soldering tools and I scraped down beside the burned out pin to the copper trace to give an even better connection and applied rosin core solder. I ran the full cycle on normal with no Clean light errors!! Thanks, I really didn't have the money at the moment to drop on a new one so I really appreciate the tip!!

    Thanks Norbert, Identical problem.
I was not sure if it was the board or the thermostat or heater but I tried this first and it works like a charm now. With a 10 year old dish washer, I thought it was time for a new one but that can wait for now.

Thanks for taking time to make this video... very informative. Note: one other problem with the clean light flashing is the bottom strainer being dirty.
Check that and clean it first that fixed my problem twice in the last 5 years... if that doesn’t clear it up, then tackle the circuit board
To reset my light, I had to press “normal wash” then “heated dry” then “normal wash” and “heated dry” again because mine is a different model

Search for the RESET process. You might not have a hardware problem.

To anyone that does this and it winds up not being the issue, my board was fine, and my heater element was fine.
It wound up being high resistance in one of the door switches (the left one) by the latch. Simple ohms check on a multimeter across the terminals and pressing the switch. Took them apart by just prying apart and carefully sanded the little contact pads with some sand paper. Be careful as the guts of the switch can come out if you aren't careful! :)

A damaged heating element on the bottom of the dishwasher interior will cause the 7 flashes as well.
