    thank you izotope for updating to the latest version i.e. ozone 10. I can't wait to try this sometime later 😍🥰🥳🍫☕🍫☕
    as others have said, it would be nice to listen to other music genres in these shows and not hip hop / trap beats when there are already too many of them on youtube

    Y’all fixed the gain match so it favors the quieter mix volume. I think this is much better. You’d always clip with it the other way around (bringing mix volume up to mastered volume). Any reason one or the other would be better though for Sonic reasons? Like, why did you have it the loud way in Ozone 9? Just curious.

    The video explains how to set loudness by decibels, but what if I want to set the max by LUFS? Say to -14LUFS or -16LUFS, for example? Where and how would I do that?

    • @philarcman
      @philarcman Год назад +1

      You can set loudness levels in the maximizer module in Ozone 10. The default target is -11, but you can adjust that number. You select target lufs and run the loudest part of your track for about 5 seconds and the loudness of the whole track is adjusted up or down to suit.

    I've noticed (Ozone 10 Advanced) that when using the Master Assistant, the Imager crossover points seem to be the same every time (I took a screen shot and then ran it on a few tracks). When I subsequently run "learn", the crossover points change from what appears to be a default "Assistant" setting. If that's a feature not a bug, it doesn't seem to make sense -- the Imager should be running the "learn" feature as part of the assistant, otherwise, what is the point of "learning"?

      @@SumnSumnSumnHTK Nectar is intended for mixing, not mastering.
      I'd also like to see a spoken word target for things like podcasts and RUclips videos, and also a "film/movie' target that assumes you're mastering a score and dialogue together.

    • @SumnSumnSumnHTK
      @SumnSumnSumnHTK 2 года назад +2

    • @JustMamba
      @JustMamba 2 года назад +2

      I'm also not understanding what you need to master for spoken word, or dialog in general. When you are mixing it, you are essentially mastering it as well. There are dialog options in neutron and nectar I believe. No need for a master.

    • @JeremyHalterman
      @JeremyHalterman 2 года назад +1

      Mixing and mastering are two different parts of the process, and while mastering can be exceedingly subtle (tonally, that is-loudness adjustments can be less subtle, but I assume you’re all at least normalizing your audio to a loudness target) on things like podcasts or talking-head-style videos with mostly dialogue and maybe a little background music, it can be very helpful to use a little EQ, multiband compression, and limiting to create a sense of cohesion between the different tracks/sources. I “master” everything that has more than a single audio track, even if it’s just massaging the master bus on the same project I mix in.
      I’m not judging anyone who chooses not to do this, but I don’t feel like my clients have gotten their money’s worth until I’ve added that last bit of glue/polish and made sure I’m hitting the loudness standard for whatever platform I’m exporting for.
