Here's the thing: I WAS bullied. Not like indirect, either. Like I'd get shoved, punched, get cornered on the bus, called names, one kid threw random shit at me with his friends (a few years later he got arrested for meth possession, lol). A group of guys even planned to jump me in the hall before my friend overheard and intervened. And this would go into high school, so it was real. I didn't quite understand why, because it happened throughout k-12 and some specific kids would taunt me from like first grade into tenth. If I was quiet, I would get bullied. If I was talkative, I would get bullied. I tried everything. Still bullied. I saw other people get bullied too, specifically special needs kids. One guy being taunted while eating his lunch said "I'm a human like you guys, please stop," and these kids didn't stop. It was heartbreaking. I told a supervisor about it, I don't care if that's snitching because that kid shouldn't have to suffer. I'm on the spectrum (yes, diagnosed), but with little need for support and excelled academically so my experience was different from special ed kids but I was still an easy target due to my poor understanding of social cues. This is all to say that my opinion on this differs from yours because, unlike you, I experienced bullying in many forms. I can say it is still very much an issue, but the difference is that shit gets recorded and the internet exists so that means long-term repercussions. So the new tactic for these offenders is to bully away from the cameras, away from other people, and choose the right targets so they won't get called out for their shitty behavior. Cartoon Network and other anti-bullying campaigns definitely got some things wrong and stated the obvious when they could have gone way more in depth with what the effects of bullying are, as well as the long-term consequences of harassing a student. I still think some level of campaigning should take place to instill empathy in the new generation of k-12 students because BULLYING DOES HAPPEN. One final thought I have is, despite my experiencing harsher bullying than gossip, I still consider it bullying in some cases; it is defined as social bullying when measures are taken to deliberately exclude and isolate a person, without good reason, from one or more social circles. Humans are social creatures and excluding someone deliberately with the knowledge of potential mental harm towards the recipient is a cruel measure. Those are just my thoughts. Cool video

I didn't do much besides not talking as much and changing how I looked, and the rest was just that kids mellowed out in senior year and were too exhausted from the quarantine to do anything. My friend also beat up a student in a fight regarding said student bullying me, all of this without my knowledge, so people were too scared to be mean to me. I appreciate my friend's loyalty but I also would rather not be associated with a violent incident like that.
I remember when everyone said bullying is bad and yet they never showed me what bullying was. Which caused me to not only bully anyone who I thought was jealous of me but manipulate everyone into thinking I was the victim. And all of that was because nobody told me manipulation and harassing someone whenever possible was bullying.

As someone who goes out of their way to bully his bullies into not buying him creating an infinite never ending cycle of bullying I see this as an absolute win
I feel like bullying used to be physical with school fights and weggies but now due to school rules, physical violence of any kind (in my school) becomes cause for expulsion and now the least the “bully” can do is just hurt you mentally 😵💫
it doesn't matter if you get expelled you could still fight that if you got necessary evidence but i'd rather just fight it out then be left with mental scars and insecurity

I am a high schooler right now. I am autistic and my current hyperfixation is touhou. My classmates started calling me anime for posting touhou pics and eventually it resorted to them pushing my chair so my stomach would get squeezed between it and my desk. And even before high school, my classmates picked on me for my hyperfixations. Oh by the way, I've known these people for under 2 weeks.

Obviously "not big of a deal" if you ddint experience it. For many like me, (I graduated) we experienced bullying during our years in school. I recall being hit, pushed around, getting called names, touched inappropriately, getting skin burns from objects thrown at me (a live battery), etc. Very insensitive of you to brush it off like that.
I remember that in middle school, a group of bullies would open the door of my bathroom and left it wide open, and run (because the locks on the door were realy weak and could be opened on the outside) because i was the ,,weird'' kid. After 5 class the bulling got kinda forgotten and the main bully tha was harrasing me became unrecognized, as he became a nice guy.
Only "bullying" I've ever had to this extent was a middle school girl behind me on the bus thinking she was tough shit, and trying to strangle me from behind. Stood up. Walked over. I told her that if she ever did it again, she'd be broken and crying on the floor. Never happened again, and I do not come across as the type of guy to get aggressive.
I remember this kid who honestly asked for it. He was really creepy around girls and would yell in class. I remember he threw a desk at a girl one time (note it didn’t hit her he just threw it at the floor in anger) and someone leaked a photo of him in a dress. He was saying the n word (he was mexican but really light, prolly cuz he was online all the time) He got homeschooled the next year but hes back now
8:00 Didn’t realize it at the time when I was in HS, but the bullying really helped me a lot. In hindsight, most of the bullying I got was riffing that I took too personally. I was overweight, cringey and lacked self-awareness. I’m much better at learning to take jokes now and I lost about 90 lbs. I don’t think I would have come to realize that without going through what I did in HS.

I feel like I was apart of the very rare percentage of when bullying became an actual serious problem. So I’m gonna explain quickly. (TW: self murder) I was friends with one of the bullies at the time. And basically what happened was that my friend and 2 others had been bullying another girl on discord. I didn’t know her very well and the girl and I only spoke a few times. I was completely oblivious until the cops got involved and visited the school to interview my friend and the 2 others. It had turned out they drove that girl into attempting self murder, and the only reason I didn’t know bc I only had RUclips as my media source. It was the most disgusting part of my entire experience with school so far, and I’m glad everyone involved left the school, so I don’t have contact with any of them. I just hope that the girl managed to find a good therapist and she’s doing okay.
Other than that horrible situation (it’s been abt a year), the only bullying at my school is just the dark humor jokes and the occasional insult which gets responded with the middle finger or an insult back.

I've had a lot of bullying happen to me. In 4th grade, half of my class hated me for simple opinion on a game and even made a rumor about me (I never found out what it was) which made people be mean, not include me in games etc. The rumor was started by the popular kid, so I told a recess teacher about it, and he said I was bullying HIM, and he got off scott free. Then, in 5th grade, my teacher was the bully one time she said, "Do you need help? Are you ok? Do you need my guidance?" To me for messing around with my friend. Another time, another student lied about me threatening him, and I got in trouble, and my teacher wouldn't let me explain. Another (this one REALLY pisses me off) i got in trouble for papers in my desk and she made me bring a trash bag home filled with garbage to quote on quote "showing my parents what i do in school" almost every single paper was from a kid from a different period. In 6th grade, they would call me names and call me autistic. I also have 2 cyberbullying experiences. One is in a game of Among Us, i lost as impostor next round i tell them whos the impostor and one person spams that i was dropped as a child and i have no friends etc. Then, after the round, I BANNED ME FROM THE GAME. Another was also in Among Us. i tried being the nicest host, but it backfired cause i tried putting everyones ideas for the ruleset on but missed ONE so they said im the worst host and then kicked me out of my own game cause there was a glitch where you can ban people in a round including the host
personally I have been a bullying victim but it wasn't the movie type, instead it was psychological torture for me, getting outcasted because of a few dumb things I did, I've never gotten wedgied or beaten up, that's just bullshit
I’m homeschooling now, but in fifth grade there definitely was a bully issue, and I’m glad I was the victim because now I feel less soft then a lot of Gen Z. I still get a little bullied by one of my friends other friends but it doesn’t effect me

I find it funny when bullies try to do shit in real life, like it's a movie. When I was a senior, this one racist and anti-semetic freshman tried being cool by insulting me out loud in the middle of class in front of two teachers. He was scolded by both of them. And the kid just shrugged his shoulders, put his hands up, and with a smug smile on his face asked them: "What's the big deal? He doesn't even care." While pointing over at me with a hand. Meanwhile, im looking at him with a "Are you beijg serious right now" face. Because I genuinely did not expect him to do something that dumb in front of two teachers. He was the only one laughing at his joke. No one else was.

Bullying really was a fiction. And I was a bully. I picked on smaller kids not because I wanted to make them feel bad. But, because I didn't understand boundaries. And the people I picked on never set them up. So, ignorance on my part, and weakness on their part. But it was never to the extent presented on TV.

I got verbally bullied. People would say I smelled, make fun of my patchy facial hair, call me fat. Maybe I was those things at one point or another, but no one ever tried to go after me physically. Probably because I'm 6'4" and 270 lbs. I can also deadlift 300 lbs, and bench press 220 lbs. My nickname was Viking because of that.

Bullying happened about like 3 times in my school and basically everytime it was always the kids fault for it happening 1st time: one kid got accused of being what we would call today a "diddy" it was proven false within like a week but he couldn't come into school because of it. 2nd time: There was this one ginger anime kid who while on the "Duke of Edinburgh" trip exposed how much of a creep he was by openly talking about how much he was lusting over one of the girls there. Word got out about it and eventually the whole school knew. Then even more bad stuff he did came out causing the entire year group to follow him around the school for a whole day just to clown him. After that he just became a friendless guy who eventually just moved schools. 3rd time: A white girl called one of my friends a "gay monkey" tbh it wasn't genuine at all he even admitted it. But another friend told him to tell the school so he did. Somehow the rest of the school found out and clowned her. She lost pretty much all except her best friend and didn't come in for most of the school year after that. She did actually come back however and everyone just kinda forgot about it ig. There was 1 more time but I forgot how the story went.

Yeah I’ve never have really seen bullying either. I was technically bullied but it was so minor I mostly forget it even happened. There was this guy one or two grades higher than me and he would pick on me for being 5 ft in 9th grade. the guy was only like 2 inches taller than me. He probably was just insecure about his height so he picked on short 9th grade kids to make him feel better. After I went into 10th grade he never spoke a word to me since I grew taller than him. he also did get picked on for being short.
I got bullied but at the end of the day I made that bully my friend. Getting pick by just existing is strange but happens. Nobody talk about clothes because we had uniform but that doesn't stop everyone. There was at least 1 fight per day over some stupid shit at middle school. High-school was better but gossip / psychological warfare was more popularity than straight up bullying because I was in enroll in a school that if you so too much you get sent back to regular High School. Im a 19 year old and graduated high school last year and as someone who had been bullied from 6 till i was 13... there were times it went too far [ strangled/ choked, throwing dirt in my face, getting kicked in the shins and gut ] and most of the time it was just name-calling, teasing but it wasn't too bad. If I hadn't been teased as much as I was in school I probably would have turned I to those weirdos on tiktok. I know that bullying can and will go too far. In the 2020s bullying is little to none as far as im aware or won't be dealt with because of how things are in the education system.
It's common sense that bullying still exists and to say that it doesn't exist is like saying crime doesn't exist anymore. Like America isn't the only country you know. Even in the United states. There's still cases of bullying.

I remember this kid who honestly asked for it. He was really creepy around girls and would yell in class. I remember he threw a desk at a girl one time (note it didn’t hit her he just threw it at the floor in anger) and someone leaked a photo of him in a dress. He was saying the n word (he was mexican but really light, prolly cuz he was online all the time) He got homeschooled the next year but hes back now

8:00 Didn’t realize it at the time when I was in HS, but the bullying really helped me a lot. In hindsight, most of the bullying I got was riffing that I took too personally. I was overweight, cringey and lacked self-awareness.
I’m much better at learning to take jokes now and I lost about 90 lbs. I don’t think I would have come to realize that without going through what I did in HS.
Same bro, 80% of the reason for losing weight for me was bc I wanted people in college to see me as a person instead of just a cringey fatass, so I lost a crap ton of weight a few months before entering and I couldn't be happier.

I disagree on the self-awareness part a bit, that doesn’t need to be taught through bullying. Someone should simply just tell you what’s wrong or what you should do about yourself.
I feel like I was apart of the very rare percentage of when bullying became an actual serious problem. So I’m gonna explain quickly. (TW: self murder)
I was friends with one of the bullies at the time. And basically what happened was that my friend and 2 others had been bullying another girl on discord. I didn’t know her very well and the girl and I only spoke a few times.
I was completely oblivious until the cops got involved and visited the school to interview my friend and the 2 others. It had turned out they drove that girl into attempting self murder, and the only reason I didn’t know bc I only had RUclips as my media source. It was the most disgusting part of my entire experience with school so far, and I’m glad everyone involved left the school, so I don’t have contact with any of them.
I just hope that the girl managed to find a good therapist and she’s doing okay.
Other than that horrible situation (it’s been abt a year), the only bullying at my school is just the dark humor jokes and the occasional insult which gets responded with the middle finger or an insult back.

I was bullied in high school, but not that severely. It was mostly just kids constantly berating me and kicking my desk, but they very rarely threw things at me. I think that constantly being an “outsider” has made me both more empathetic, but also less forgiving
I've had a lot of bullying happen to me. In 4th grade, half of my class hated me for simple opinion on a game and even made a rumor about me (I never found out what it was) which made people be mean, not include me in games etc. The rumor was started by the popular kid, so I told a recess teacher about it, and he said I was bullying HIM, and he got off scott free. Then, in 5th grade, my teacher was the bully one time she said, "Do you need help? Are you ok? Do you need my guidance?" To me for messing around with my friend. Another time, another student lied about me threatening him, and I got in trouble, and my teacher wouldn't let me explain. Another (this one REALLY pisses me off) i got in trouble for papers in my desk and she made me bring a trash bag home filled with garbage to quote on quote "showing my parents what i do in school" almost every single paper was from a kid from a different period. In 6th grade, they would call me names and call me autistic. I also have 2 cyberbullying experiences. One is in a game of Among Us, i lost as impostor next round i tell them whos the impostor and one person spams that i was dropped as a child and i have no friends etc. Then, after the round, I BANNED ME FROM THE GAME. Another was also in Among Us. i tried being the nicest host, but it backfired cause i tried putting everyones ideas for the ruleset on but missed ONE so they said im the worst host and then kicked me out of my own game cause there was a glitch where you can ban people in a round including the host
I'm a highschooler and no One has the balls to do anything like bullying it's mostly just gossip or talk.
personally I have been a bullying victim but it wasn't the movie type, instead it was psychological torture for me, getting outcasted because of a few dumb things I did, I've never gotten wedgied or beaten up, that's just bullshit
I’m homeschooling now, but in fifth grade there definitely was a bully issue, and I’m glad I was the victim because now I feel less soft then a lot of Gen Z. I still get a little bullied by one of my friends other friends but it doesn’t effect me

Bullying stopped existing at my school like 2 years ago when everyone started carrying knives and faculty stopped caring lol. Catchment bloat is real and it made my 'best in the state' school become a ghetto town.
As someone in school, the closest thing that happens to bullying is someone makes fun of the annoying kid in class and most of us laugh. I wouldn’t really say anyone in 7th grade or above at my school is “soft.”

I find it funny when bullies try to do shit in real life, like it's a movie. When I was a senior, this one racist and anti-semetic freshman tried being cool by insulting me out loud in the middle of class in front of two teachers. He was scolded by both of them. And the kid just shrugged his shoulders, put his hands up, and with a smug smile on his face asked them: "What's the big deal? He doesn't even care." While pointing over at me with a hand. Meanwhile, im looking at him with a "Are you beijg serious right now" face. Because I genuinely did not expect him to do something that dumb in front of two teachers. He was the only one laughing at his joke. No one else was.

Bullying really was a fiction. And I was a bully. I picked on smaller kids not because I wanted to make them feel bad. But, because I didn't understand boundaries. And the people I picked on never set them up. So, ignorance on my part, and weakness on their part. But it was never to the extent presented on TV.

I got verbally bullied. People would say I smelled, make fun of my patchy facial hair, call me fat. Maybe I was those things at one point or another, but no one ever tried to go after me physically. Probably because I'm 6'4" and 270 lbs. I can also deadlift 300 lbs, and bench press 220 lbs. My nickname was Viking because of that.

Bullying happened about like 3 times in my school and basically everytime it was always the kids fault for it happening
1st time: one kid got accused of being what we would call today a "diddy" it was proven false within like a week but he couldn't come into school because of it.
2nd time: There was this one ginger anime kid who while on the "Duke of Edinburgh" trip exposed how much of a creep he was by openly talking about how much he was lusting over one of the girls there. Word got out about it and eventually the whole school knew. Then even more bad stuff he did came out causing the entire year group to follow him around the school for a whole day just to clown him. After that he just became a friendless guy who eventually just moved schools.
3rd time: A white girl called one of my friends a "gay monkey" tbh it wasn't genuine at all he even admitted it. But another friend told him to tell the school so he did. Somehow the rest of the school found out and clowned her. She lost pretty much all except her best friend and didn't come in for most of the school year after that. She did actually come back however and everyone just kinda forgot about it ig.
There was 1 more time but I forgot how the story went.

Yeah I’ve never have really seen bullying either. I was technically bullied but it was so minor I mostly forget it even happened. There was this guy one or two grades higher than me and he would pick on me for being 5 ft in 9th grade. the guy was only like 2 inches taller than me. He probably was just insecure about his height so he picked on short 9th grade kids to make him feel better. After I went into 10th grade he never spoke a word to me since I grew taller than him. he also did get picked on for being short.

I got bullied but at the end of the day I made that bully my friend. Getting pick by just existing is strange but happens. High-school was better but gossip / psychological warfare was more popularity than straight up bullying because I was in enroll in a school that if you so too much you get sent back to regular High School. Im a 19 year old and graduated high school last year and as someone who had been bullied from 6 till i was 13... there were times it went too far [ strangled/ choked, throwing dirt in my face, getting kicked in the shins and gut ] and most of the time it was just name-calling, teasing but it wasn't too bad. If I hadn't been teased as much as I was in school I probably would have turned I to those weirdos on tiktok.
I know that bullying can and will go too far. In the 2020s bullying is little to none as far as im aware or won't be dealt with because of how things are in the education system.
