You become a saint or a forgiven sinner when you call on Jesus for salvation and forgiveness of sins. We all have to do business with Jesus directly. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be forgiven and saved for eternal life with Jesus forevermore
Saint Peter gave us the keys to the kingdom in Acts 2 onwards. Repentance towards the Father and being baptized into Christ Jesus for the remission of sins and then being filled with the Holy Spirit asking Jesus to fill us with His Holy Spirit now that we’ve been washed by the blood of Jesus by calling on Jesus for forgiveness and salvation Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be forgiven and saved for eternal life with Jesus forevermore in Paradise
Repentance first and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ with your whole heart ❤️Baptism always followed immediately. Then by asking Jesus to fill you with His Holy Spirit you are a Spirit filled believer. A Spirit filled believer becomes a disciple of the Lord Jesus by renewing our minds daily by God’s word starting at the gospel of John chapter 14 going forward daily
I did not understand why Christ washed the feet of the apostles. Now I do. I learn something new about the faith seemingly daily, which deepens my faith frequently. Thank you.
Jesus washed the disciples' feet (John 13:1-17) to demonstrate: 1. *Humility*: Jesus showed that true greatness comes from serving others, not seeking power or status. 2. *Love*: He demonstrated His love for the disciples, showing that He valued their well-being and wanted to serve them. 3. *Servant leadership*: Jesus modeled a new kind of leadership, one that prioritizes serving others rather than seeking to be served. 4. *Forgiveness*: By washing the feet of Judas, who would soon betray Him, Jesus showed forgiveness and mercy. 5. *Example*: He set an example for the disciples (and us) to follow, teaching that serving others is a key part of following Him. This act of foot-washing was a powerful object lesson that has inspired countless generations to practice humility, love, and servant leadership.
But YOU must keep up your salvation AND confession to a priest AND many other things dependent on YOU. Catholicism only attributes 20% of salvation to Jesus. PLEASE RECONSIDER WHAT JESUS DID ON THE CROSS & CONTINUES TO DO THRU HIS SPIRIT (should consider the BIBLE & what GOD says in His Word). Catholicism ADDS many things which many Catholics don't believe, and which are NOT Biblical.
@@susanburrows810You are not fully informed on the Catholic faith. As a convert from Protestantism to Catholicism, I assure you that Catholicism attributes 100% of salvation to Jesus, not 20% as you say we do. Even many Catholics aren't truly informed of the Catholic faith, and we all need to continue to learn from scriptures; however, there was no "New Testament" in the early years (first couple hundred years) and up until two hundred years ago MOST of the entire world couldn't read even if they had a Bible. I’ve committed almost all of these except murder and paying unjust wages etc. I’m just returning to my Catholic Faith. I was pulled out of Catholic school after 7th grade when my family decided to attend Baptist Church. My life has been out of harmony ever since. God Help Me Please 🙏🏻
I’m a convert, and the first priest I ever confessed to had lived long in the world before becoming a priest. He said he filled several pages of a yellow pad with his sins and took it to confession with him the first time after his reversion, and after confession, he burned it. It set him free. He is a wonderful, godly priest, and a joyful one.
@@childofmary7959Very helpful comment. I have not been to confession for over 30 years and I'm preparing myself to go back to the faith and I need a serious confession. I will do like the priest did. Thanks for sharing.
@@vivrowe2763 You confess your sins to God , there is no middleman ever mentioned in scripture. If you are wondering about the question of whether your sexuality is a sin or not, I welcome you to consider the following thoughts for clarification. Let’s look at some basic fundamental facts based on extensive research & ongoing R&D. During fetal development a verity of biochemical agents are introduced which determine the development of the fetus. Research has shown that major agents such as testosterone & estrogen & a host of others agents determine size, weight, hair color, eye color & sexuality along with a host of other traits. Variations in the amount & timing of the introduction of these agents have a major effect in development. The fetus is a passive participant & has no influence in these matters. Sexuality, for example, & all other secondary traits are thus given to us. Well, this begs the question, is homosexuality a sin since there is no choice offered. If your religion or belief system states that it is a sin, then there can be no argument. These are the rules based on this system’s dogma. If you accept this system, you must accept the rules. This is your only choice which doesn’t include options & exceptions. Rules are rules! If, however, you are in a belief system based on logic, reason, observation & common sense, & no reliance on spirituality or religion, the conclusion is totally different. Replacing ancient religion & mythology & superstition with reason leads to another conclusion. Leaving religions that use condemnation & ridicule for control, can be the first step in becoming a true human being minus any imposed or fabricated guilt. There exist many variations of human sexual expression as well in the animal kingdom. When you leave various ancient religious beliefs behind & chose knowledge based in research, you can see & understand the true nature of humanity. You leave ignorance, hatred, & prejudice behind. In the book Gay Straight & the Reason Why by Simon Levay PhD, explanations regarding this aspect of humanity are clearly explained & is based on research. While I am not gay, I highly recommend this book & the numerous articles. Being gay is no more of a sin than having red hair. They are both determined by genetics & clearly not a sin. There is nothing wrong with you. This is the true choice. Peace

@@seanrathmakedisciples1508Not quite a complete understanding. Christ said, "Repent and sin no more." You have ti keep striving. One repentance isn't enough. Christ made it clear we must sin no more. If we do sin, which is virtually inevitable, we must repent again and try to sin no more once again.
@@seanrathmakedisciples1508 Jesus created the sacraments, including confession for his earthly church. While He did create them, He is not bound by them so of course He can forgive if we call on His name, but in doing that we are trying to do it "our way" instead of what He instituted for us, which is tied to pride of oneself. Confession is a gift and also a shield to help us from sinning further. I encourage you to find a local Catholic church and inquire about RCIA.

The very same petition i do beg of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, because I have been and am a very terrible 😢 sinner, and have broken almost all of the commandments of ALMIGHTY GOD, and thus our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST probably will NOT allow me into the kingdom of heaven, so I shudder at the thought of my own death 💀, but I do pray the HOLY ROSARY, try to attend HOLY MASS as often as possible, so what can I do? to show the LORD of my great sorrow 🙁,,,, and prior to MASS i go to confession, but I still shudder at the thought of my own death
Any teacher knows we grow more through encouragement that discouragement. Take the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Live by them as they are such wonderful positives.
Love this refresher. The problem or danger of "God loves us" is we turn into entitled individuals, falling into false notion we can do whatever we want because God forgives us anyway. As a regular Mass-goer, I am falling to this trap. Sure, confess our sins to God. But having a Confession first before taking His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity has that profound and compelling feeling: "I am worthy and qualified" to receive You. A petty analogy, but it is like passing a prerequisite subject before we are allowed to take the next one. May I develop this inner resolve and discipline not to participate if I haven't confessed. God is never a legalist, yet we are called to be beyond the legalities called obedience and sacrifice. "Lord Jesus, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me, a sinner."
In the Diary of Sister Faustina, Jesus scolds the nun for not receiving at one point over her belief that she was not worthy. She had not commited a grave sin but some minor error or ommision. At the mass itself, we ask the Lamb of God to have mercy on us prior to receiving. None of us are without faults. Perfection will be ours when we are saints, hopefully in the next life; very difficult to attain in this life. I believe the First Saturday devotion, practised regularly, is a helpful way to encourage frequent confession.
Jesus, now more than ever we need your mercy and compassion. Help me to stay away from these mortal sins so that I may be worthy to receive you in the Holy Eucharist.
I have confessed to God,my sins. I pray for forgiveness all the time, when I pray. Forgiveness is what pray for,I pray for my wife ,my daughter. Forgive us our sins
This is because of what g.b.montini and bulgani and the 7 protestant ministers did by trying to destroy the Most Holy Mass of all times, the Tridentine Mass, promulgated by Pope st.Pius 5 and given more impetus by Pope st Pius 10. When I was a child, all of us would go to religious classes and learn more about the church and become very ingrained into the Catholic Church and the 7 sacraments, and the necessity to remain in the state of Sanctifying Grace in order to receive Holy Communion
An act of love for God immediately reconciles a soul with God,even if it is full of mortal sins even before sacramental confession, as long as the will to confess is present. SOURCE COUNCIL OF TRENT SESSION14 Chapter 4.

Thanks for this my brother im about to confess this week and im examining all of the sins that i committed venial and mortal and its look like i committed 2 mortal sins one of it is receiving communion with unconfess mortal sin. I'm gonna share this video cause there's a lot of Catholics who don't know or forgot about this and ik all of us are sinners but one thing i learned God's Mercy is infinite, we must not be scared or be shy to go to confession it doesnt matter if its face2face or you personally know the priest what matters is if we want to receive God's mercy let's be fully confident to go to Confession. God bless us all
When you read God's written word in the new testament you will not find anyone confessing their sins to a priest. We confess our sins to God and it is only God who forgives our sins because Christ has died for every sin . Venial or mortal sins carry the same punishment Romans 6:23:“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Notice that it is the free gift of God that gives you eternal life? You as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ alone are no longer under the law of sin and death, you are a new creation. Read God's word the scriptures for your truth and question everything any church group says. Acts 17:11
Of course, the priest only represent the Christ when we confess, and is given the power to judge if you have real contrition as the bible indicates.@@stevevargas8260
Thank-you Fr. John for sharing and reminding us of the importance of making a truly good confessing of our mortal and venial sins before receiving the Body of Christ.I personally fear God so much because sins commited cannot be hidden from God. Everything to God is transparent under the sun. Hence, all Catholics are encouraged to make a 4:26 good confessing before receiving the Body of Christ during the Holy Eucharistic Celebration. May God richly bless ♥️🔥🎉😂 you Father John Corapi. Blessed Sunday night.

In case you didn’t know already, You must go to confession to be forgiven and washed of these sins (mortal sins), or make an act of perfect contrition (look into it for details; it’s essentially being sorry for our sins out of love for God rather than the fear of hell or consequences or other motives), which an act of perfect contrition also must be accompanied by the desire to make it to confession as soon as possible. We must always go to confession to be absolved of mortal sins! I apologize if you already knew this and it seems patronizing-just wanted to help in case you didn’t.
I thank you oh Lord for enlightening and showing me the right path to the light of the Heavenly Father of the Kingdom of Paradise.Praise Be The "LORD GOD"Almightu,Amen. ..... :-) .

Went to mass with you and family when at the beach in 1989. I felt blessed and also a bonding with you to experience your faith together. Not the first time attending mass. Had been many times including Palm Sunday and midnight mass. This mass was special because I was with you Am.A. All the experiences that meant so much to me, meant nothing to you. I felt privileged to sit with your Nonna for a day when you all could not be home. Again, I felt a bonding with you. How misled I was- all meant nothing to you. You even made sure that early morning I pulled in your driveway to sit with her, that you were backing out of the garage- I was excited to see you. Not to be, you chose to leave before I could exit my vehicle. So many red flags, but my heart didn't or refused to see them.
POPE BENEDICT XVI: “When attending Mass and receiving the Eucharist, Catholic must be filled with gratitude for God’s great gifts. Despite the fact that we have nothing to give in return and we are full of faults, Jesus invites us to his table and wants to be with us.” ST. JOHN BAPTISTE DE LA SALLE: “Some say that they are not worthy to take communion often. We take communion not because we are holy, but in order to become so... Union with Jesus in communion makes us able to share in his holiness.”
No sin is mortal unless done with full knowledge and full intention. Weakness may remove some culpability. The issue discussed are Grave matter, but only God and the individual can say whether or not they are Mortal and the soul is cut off from God. Trust in his mercy.
Not according to Aquinas and traditional Church teaching. Some things we're responsible for knowing are gravely wrong, even if we've never been formally taught. Take atheists, who don't even believe in God and who therefore think they're doing nothing wrong. You bet they go to hell. And all are the sins listed here all Catholics have been taught are seriously wrong, so there's no excuse here either. Mortal sin is still COMMON.
@@lilyw.719 That's an interesting take on it, but I think God is merciful, even with some atheists and it's not our job to say they go to Hell. You don't know that.
God is not a Divine Tyrant. Individual priests would differ as to whether a sin is mortal or not. How can an atheist go to Hell if they don’t in all honesty believe in God. There’s no Hell,I believe, but a lot of the human race will, unfortunately, suffer a long period of Purgatory( purgation) before they can face God ..."
@@ivorfaulkner4768 There is the lake of fire, which is the second death that is explained in Revelation. All people who were not saved will be casted into the lake of fire with Satan and the demons and fallen angels. There is no such thing as a second chance in purgatory. Hebrews 9:27 says that it is appointed once for man to die, then the judgement. If a person doesn’t put their faith in Jesus Christ on earth, how will they be saved after death? The idea of purgatory simply isn’t biblical because an unsaved person spends eternity apart from God. There is no way to be reconciled to God after you die unsaved, because whoever does not believe stands condemned according to the Bible. I am shocked that some professing Christians believe exactly what the pagans believe: that everyone will go to heaven
Thank you Lord for the sacrament of reconciliation, for the mercy, for giving us mortals unconditional love and never ending chances if receiving the sanctifying grace from our Lord
One must not receive communion while in a state of mortal sin. That said, the sins listed would be mortal if freely entered. This represents a deliberate turning away from God. But there are many reasons why such sins might not be mortal. Did you hold back wages because your boss threatened to fire you if you didn't? Fear is a mitigating factor. (But do work to resolve the issue. Start collecting evidence and looking for a new job.) Do you try hard to control your lust and fail? Physical needs might drive someone to do things they don't want to do. Even venial sins need to be avoided. But God is merciful and understands we are weak. Do not let such temptations turn you away from God, but repent and seek God instead. God loves sinners, even you. BTW, the Eucharist washes away venial sin. Seek God and god's protection from sin.

You cannot commit a mortal sin without knowing it. For a sin to be mortal there are three elements, all of which must be present otherwise no mortal sin has been committed. Those elements are Full Knowledge, Full Consent and Serious Matter. i.e. You must fully know that the matter is serious, you must fully consent to committing the act of your own free will and the matter itself must be of a mortally sinful nature.

1 Jhon 5: 16-19 16If anyone sees his brother 1 committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life-to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. Problem with Modern Priests is that they are modernists. These modernists are more concerned with not offending people than they are teaching true Catholic Doctrine. By the way these are the same modernists who teach going to confession once per year. Meanwhile even the most righteous man sins 7 times a day. At a minimum you should be attending confession once per month. Pope St John Paul said it himself: “In America you communion lines are long but your confessional lines are short.” I see every time I go to confession. Max 8-10 people going to confession while just about everyone goes up for communion. Pray for these Priests because they are committing sacrilege by not warning the people that receiving Communion in a state of mortal sin is a huge sacrilege.

I did not understand why Christ washed the feet of the apostles. Now I do. I learn something new about the faith seemingly daily, which deepens my faith frequently. Thank you.
Blame bad catechism......it became woke
It was also because washing others feet was a practice for slaves at this time. So doing it showed that He was a servant
Jesus washed the disciples' feet (John 13:1-17) to demonstrate:
One of the titles of the Pope is "Servos servorum" or Servant of servants in keeping with Jesus' example..
I never understood it either.

Peace

Yes. You're so correct!
I am truly a sinner...please have Mercy on me
Jesus, now more than ever we need your mercy and compassion. Help me to stay away from these mortal sins so that I may be worthy to receive you in the Holy Eucharist.

We confess to the lord, and 4:21 no one else.

I felt privileged to sit with your Nonna for a day when you all could not be home. Again, I felt a bonding with you. How misled I was- all meant nothing to you.

Have mercy on me oh Lord, for i am one terrible sinner
You cannot commit a mortal sin without knowing it. For a sin to be mortal there are three elements, all of which must be present otherwise no mortal sin has been committed. Those elements are Full Knowledge, Full Consent and Serious Matter. i.e. You must fully know that the matter is serious, you must fully consent to committing the act of your own free will and the matter itself must be of a mortally sinful nature.
Thanks for sharing. God bless you 🙏
Thank you father for forgive my mortal sins that occupied my life from you, I always put my faith in you, love you Jesus...❤

In Acts 2:37-46 we’re given the way of salvation and forgiveness. Repentance and deciding to follow Jesus forevermore and calling on Jesus for forgiveness and forgiveness and believers then believe . Baptism happens immediately after believing and deciding to follow Jesus forevermore forevermore. When we call on the Lord Jesus Christ then we’re forgiven and snatched from darkness and brought into Jesus family of love and light. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus will be forevermore forgiven and saved
Oh my Jesus forgive us our sins🙏🙏🙏
Lord Jesus have mercy on me 🙏
may the grace of God be with us always.
I never confessed 1. Nor 4. I am definitely doing that in confession tomorrow!
Thank you for this wonderful message.Jesus is Holy forever ❤
You're welcome 🙏
The communion line should be very short if at all
No, because confession is available to all Catholics who are repentant!
The priest at our church complains because hardly anyone goes to confession on Saturday , even during lent, yet communion is always busy. Must be a lot of righteous people in our parish. 😊
God is merciful and forgives all manner of sin.
Washing of feet is physical but God is spirit & accessible spiritually!
We were taught to go to confession when we felt the urge. Actually we should go often at least once a month. Every Catholic is required to go at least once a year and to receive once a year during the Easter season. Thus Divine Mercy Sunday.
quote--Every Catholic is required to go at least once a year and to receive once a year during the Easter season--unquote Not what God says. GO DIRECTLY to Him for forgiveness.
Do you have any scriptures to support what you just claimed? Where did God say He required this?
@@kevinkane9446 What does Matthew 6 14 say about forgiveness?
"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly. Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their. trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
------Who do you ask for forgiveness in the Bible?
How to Ask for Forgiveness Also, I suggest you go back and read
You should acknowledge that sin and ask God's forgiveness for it (Psalm 32:1-5). Pray and ask the Lord to reveal if there is anything else you need to apologize for (Psalm 139:23-24). Also, ask Him to give you empathy and compassion for the person you've hurt (Romans 12:15).
-----Also, I suggest you go back and read the "Our Father" Prayer!!!
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
--God HIMSELF says to say that prayer!!! Ask HIM for forgiveness.
If you have wronged someone, ask for forgiveness from that person, then ask God.---
@@kevinkane9446 He doesn’t require confession to a priest. 1 John 1:8-9 says that if we confess our sins to God, He is faithful to forgive us of all unrighteousness.

I have been a devout Roman Catholic since 1961, but I renounced my Roman Catholic faith in 2022 for two chief reasons: one, the Roman Catholic faith is not aligned with the Bible; and two, I was spiritually liberated by the book I read entitled "Altar of Secrets: Sex, Politics, and Money in the Philippine Catholic Church" by Aries C. Rufo. I am now a happy born again Christian . . . much better!
Praise be to God !
Hmmm, so why does everyone line up for communion, when only about 3 people are in line for confession 🤔?
Its a travesty. The novus ordo antichurch is not the catholic church
Try not to worry about the state of another's soul, but concentrate on your own.
explain in saying at Mass we say before receiving the holy host " I am not worthy the you should ender under my roof but say the word and I will be forgiven
The Saving Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is that he died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the 3rd day, by which we are saved, 1 Corinthians 15 1-4.❤✝️
Lord Jesus Christ I confess of being guilty of some of the things on that list just read forgive me and family as well Father may we turn from our transgressions!
Just a question-
What is the source of your list? Catechism of the Catholic Church? I suggest you put your source in each video you make.
Thank you.
Having just watched this, it looks like an exposition of the 10 commandments. It would be goo if, as you say, the source was given yto give some sort of authority
All is in Scripture either explicitly or implicitly. Blessings !
Thank you for the information, God bless us

Excellent! Thank you!
Go through the Commandments thoroughly. Many people don't know what they mean in detail. 7 deadly sins as well.
What if the priest has committed mortal sin
Can he still perform his priestly duties.
The validity of the Sacraments does not depend on the Catholic priest moral conditions.
Yes.
Yes he can. The sacramental theology is that the grace of God is perfect even in a sinful minister and that makes perfect sense because God knew that some of his priests would fail. They are after all human. The efficaciousness of God's grace is perfect.
Jesus is the Son of the loving God. Thank you for loving me Jesus 🙏
All sins must be confessed prior to communion. You must be cleansed.
Lord have mercy on me a sinner, Christ have mercy on me.🙏
*Bible does not teach ROman ct's man made doctrine of "only some sins called mortal sins lead to death". Bible teaches "all sins lead to death, Romans 6:23".*
1 Jhon 5: 16-19
16If anyone sees his brother 1 committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life-to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that. 17All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death. 18We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him. 19We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

Great sermon, Dear Fr. Which gave me an opportunity for self evaluation
Many Catholic priests (and I spoke to one just recently) would disagree with this list.
@@anthonypicano1670 I agree with everything you say above but it’s dangerous to decide for oneself what’s mortal and what’s mere venial sin. Where do you draw the line? There are so many nowadays on RUclips and elsewhere (all experts) with different views and opinions.
I found the solution a long time ago. KEEP THINGS SIMPLE that’s my motto which is taught always by Our Lady, now there’s a sure guide, a real and rare treasure of our Catholic Faith.
I wrote a poem once which I called ‘Our Lady Speaks’. The simplicity of it still gets to me to this very day. And I would say to anyone anywhere make her (Our Lady) your guide and mentor, she helps souls to untangle all the mess. Learn all you can about her (with the deepest respect) and God won’t refuse you anything worthwhile.
I don't know about your Priest..... This is exactly the same list of sins that are considered to be 'mortal' sins that I've always been taught. Let's face it. Being Catholic isn't easy. It isn't supposed to be. If it were easy, we'd be protestants. But, as far as my salvation is concerned, I'll stick with the name brand and not the generic.
@@efandmk3382 You sound very much like a Traditional Catholic that’s great. I like all things traditional including the Latin Mass.
@@anthonypicano1670 We’re always better agreeing with what the Lord Jesus Christ said. Unless we’re born again we will not see the kingdom or enter the kingdom of God. ❤

@@roystonboodoo7525 Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus will be forevermore forgiven. Unless we’re born again we will not see the kingdom or enter the kingdom of God John 3:3-5 . We become born again when we decide to trust in Jesus only and stop depending on our own efforts. Salvation is a free gift as Jesus has paid for the sins of the world on Calvary. He is the lamb sacrifice for the sins of the world and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. We then ask Jesus to fill us with His Holy Spirit and a Spirit filled believer becomes a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ by the renewing of our minds minds daily by God’s word starting at John chapter 14 onwards while making other disciples on my journey with the Lord Jesus Christ ❤
