It’s good practice to read the day’s Readings in advance of Mass. It helps you to enter more deeply into the Scriptures when they are then proclaimed during the Liturgy of the Word.
Yes be sure to study up on the daily readings and have the high-class folk over for tea. Forget about the poor widow and those living on the street. The church will take care of them. Where is that in the Bible?
Unfortunately, Church is not a Shaheen or a bar where you just want to behave as you wish. If you feel that the Church authorities have put rules to wear properly and in decent way, it is better to stay away from the Church. Unfortunately, the Church is not a place to show a miniskirt. It is a place of praise and worship. Let us stop being naive and respect the Lord.

I started going to a less crowded and more reverent service, (the bi-lingual Mass) and found it to be much better. Even our Pastor announced at the end of Mass that he especially liked celebrating this Mass because “no one leaves after Communion”…Amen!

My biggest pet peeve: people should not leave the church immediately after communion! One recent Sunday literally HALF of the once full church was empty immediately following communion! I wanted to cry at the disrespect shown to God.
Some people are so disrespectful inside the church,they keep on chatting in loud voices ,doesn't care that there are people seeking for silence for praying& meditation...
If you can kneel it's important also our Blessed Mother Mary does that. The devil ..demon or whatever the opposite is, don't want you to kneel or bow when it's about Jesus or Mother Mary or God our Father, our Holy Family.
i am a born again Christian but when I visited my family I went to church and attended mass with them. I can't control my tears when I saw people started leaving while the choir was still singing Give thanks with a grateful heart. To me the mass was not completely finished yet but people were in a hurry to go home.
Our priests tell us umpteen times that the Mass is over only on completion of the recessional hymn Yet many people give a damn to this advice Pl Catholics give due respect to the LORDS banquet Its only an hour we give to God in a whole week
This should really go viral because so many people are not truly following the proper conduct in attending church. If we come really to pray , why don’t we just give our best, it’s not hard at all . Our Lady of The Roses at Bayside Queens said Communion in the Hand is a sacrilege and Our Lord is very disappointed at the lack of respect so many have at Mass. I believe Our Lady at Akita Japan also said Communion in the hand was wrong too.

Absolutely true. I remember in the late 1960s when the Church started the sign of peace. I was only 9 or 10 years old and felt even then it made little sense. The instructions were to turn only to the person to your right and briefly shake their hand. Now I see even at daily mass many people waiving to others all over the pews. The Lamb of God prayer is already being said and they are still waiving to people all over the church. It completely takes the attention away from Our Lord. The Novus Ordo Mass is not as full of graces as the Traditional Latin Mass. If you don't believe me, visit a Latin Mass and you will see and feel the difference. Also "Extraordinary" Ministers were to be utilized only if it would be excessively too long for priests alone to distribute the Eucharist. Now you can see sometimes 7 or 8 ministers even when they are totally not needed. Communion in the hand is not a good idea either as it makes it too easy for bad recipients to steal the host. I once witnessed this happen and someone from the congregation was told by the priest to chase him outside the church to recover the host. Many believe Communion in the hand is a sacrilege, started in Europe out of disobedience. Why take the chance? Always receive Our Lord on the tongue and only from the consecrated hands of a Priest.
Our holy priest omits the sign of peace. If I attend other parishes, at the sign of peace I kneel and have my head down and pray, often for The Lords Peace to reign in souls ✝️ My focus is on The Lord and I look at the tabernacle throughout mass, not at the lector and only on the priest during his homily. Our priest celebrates Mass, ad Orientem and once a week TLM ✝️☀️🕊

Thank you for this good advice and reminders. However, a couple of things troubles me. I have muscular dystrophy so find kneeling almost impossible. My balance is also compromised so standing is also difficult. When I genuflect I cannot kneel down very far as I would almost certainly fall and be unable to get up by myself. I do what I can though, bending my head down for example, and always try to show respect to the Lord and hope that he understands what is in my heart.
The Lord understands your difficulty. I cannot kneel or genuflect. I hold my bow and when needed I sit close to the edge of the seat instead of kneeling. I am respectfully in all ways and I'm sure my Lord understands ❤✌ Bless you!
This is why you need to sit up front. They have ministers to help you room for wheelchairs. It is not mandatory to stand up and down or to kneel.. I had back surgery, so I sat on the edge of the pew.

These ideas were common as I was taught as a young girl but not sure what is taught now. Lately I've been seeing women and girls with heads covered with lace. I like that and may do so as i had to when young.
When I was young I used to leave Mass a few minutes early. One day I was at Holy Mass with my mother and it was then that she said to me to always stay and receive the Priest's bless. That was over 40 years ago and I have, perhaps only once or twice due to an absolute necessity, never left Holy Mass early since.
I think being late is better than not going at all, especially for new church goers. When I started going to mass I was sometimes late for 20 minutes at the most. There's only one bus to church, and that bus is always late. I started leaving home one to half an hour earlier than usual after I realized this.
Yeah, if you have to rely on the bus schedule it might be tricky... in my childhood we lived very close to the church, 5 minutes of walking distance... however, my family almost always had to be late. Because they didn't want to get there TOO EARLY!!!! I always HATED this attitude so much!!! And when we indeed were late, my mom forced us to go around to the back gate to avoid people seeing us entering late, making us arrive EVEN MORE LATE!!!! Clearly shows that it was not the Lord who was most important for them, but themselves and other people's opinion! This is so sad! Now they do not attend church at all! I am so deeply saddened by this!
This is very vital information with the video to the catholic churches in the world . i urge this video should be shown to all church parishes to its parishioners how to pay homage and respect to lord jesus christ during the Holy eucharistic celeberation in the church. In the modern age most of the people are either ignorant or negligent in this subject and not to take this as for granted , so that their mind will enlightened by the grace of God.

I’m deaf so sometimes the church doesn’t have mass booklet to use, I use my cell phone to get to EWTN and read the mass reading for the day during the homily.
Until now I have never thought about a person who is deaf following the Holy Mass on their phone.This is a reminder to me about being judgemental .Thankyou for raising this issue.I guess regarding the issue of modesty ,while I agree not everyone seems to understand some clothes are not appropriate for Mass; again this is a judgement.If a person comes to Mass that's a blessing regardless of how they are dressed.My focus should be on the Altar on the Holy Word and on what Jesus is saying to me.

I just turned 50 I believe in unity, love, acceptance, kindness, forgiveness, charity and helping others. I do as Jesus told us to do, I treat others the way he showed us 2000 years ago, with love and respect only, never judgement. If someone is late and it bothers you, offer them a ride. If someone is wearing clothing that is not up to your expectations, take them shopping. We don’t know what is going on in someone else’s life so always be respectful without judgment as judgment is the opposite of love. Where judgment exists, love cannot. Love others as Jesus has loved us. It’s very simple. We are all one. Encourage unity, not separation from one another, which is separation from God. I am so grateful for every person who enters God’s doors! I am catholic and I spread the word of God always inviting everyone no matter what! Have respect for all your brothers and sisters in all situations at all times, no matter where you are but most especially in Gods house where ALL ARE WELCOME and a place where we should be focused on our time with Jesus, not what anyone else is doing or wearing. ❤ Peace and love always

The instructions were to turn only to the person to your right and briefly shake their hand. Now I see even at daily mass many people waiving to others all over the pews. The Lamb of God prayer is already being said and they are still waiving to people all over the church. It completely takes the attention away from Our Lord. The Novus Ordo Mass is not as full of graces as the Traditional Latin Mass. If you don't believe me, visit a Latin Mass and you will see and feel the difference. Also "Extraordinary" Ministers were to be utilized only if it would be excessively too long for priests alone to distribute the Eucharist. Now you can see sometimes 7 or 8 ministers even when they are totally not needed. Communion in the hand is not a good idea either as it makes it too easy for bad recipients to steal the host. I once witnessed this happen and someone from the congregation was told by the priest to chase him outside the church to recover the host. Many believe Communion in the hand is a sacrilege, started in Europe out of disobedience. Why take the chance? Always receive Our Lord on the tongue and only from the consecrated hands of a Priest.
Our holy priest omits the sign of peace. If I attend other parishes, at the sign of peace I kneel and have my head down and pray, often for The Lords Peace to reign in souls ✝️
My focus is on The Lord and I look at the tabernacle throughout mass, not at the lector and only on the priest during his homily. Our priest celebrates Mass, ad Orientem and once a week TLM ✝️☀️🕊
There is no sign of peace in my parish. I am so glad. It is a distraction from Jesus, present at that moment on the altar.

Thank you for this good advice and reminders. However, a couple of things troubles me. I have muscular dystrophy so find kneeling almost impossible. My balance is also compromised so standing is also difficult. When I genuflect I cannot kneel down very far as I would almost certainly fall and be unable to get up by myself. I do what I can though, bending my head down for example, and always try to show respect to the Lord and hope that he understands what is in my heart.
The Lord understands your difficulty. I cannot kneel or genuflect. I hold my bow and when needed I sit close to the edge of the seat instead of kneeling. I am respectfully in all ways and I'm sure my Lord understands ❤✌ Bless you!

This is why you need to sit up front. They have ministers to help you room for wheelchairs. It is not mandatory to stand up and down or to kneel.. I had back surgery, so I sat on the edge of the pew.

These ideas were common as I was taught as a young girl but not sure what is taught now. Lately I've been seeing women and girls with heads covered with lace. I like that and may do so as i had to when young.

When I was young I used to leave Mass a few minutes early. One day I was at Holy Mass with my mother and it was then that she said to me to always stay and receive the Priest's bless. That was over 40 years ago and I have, perhaps only once or twice due to an absolute necessity, never left Holy Mass early since.
I think being late is better than not going at all, especially for new church goers. When I started going to mass I was sometimes late for 20 minutes at the most. There's only one bus to church, and that bus is always late. I started leaving home one to half an hour earlier than usual after I realized this.
Yeah, if you have to rely on the bus schedule it might be tricky... in my childhood we lived very close to the church, 5 minutes of walking distance... however, my family almost always had to be late. Because they didn't want to get there TOO EARLY!!!! I always HATED this attitude so much!!! And when we indeed were late, my mom forced us to go around to the back gate to avoid people seeing us entering late, making us arrive EVEN MORE LATE!!!! Clearly shows that it was not the Lord who was most important for them, but themselves and other people's opinion! This is so sad! Now they do not attend church at all! I am so deeply saddened by this!
Where I grew up a Catholic family lived right next to the church but they were always late for mass.
Jesus sees your heart, and welcomes you whenever you arrive.

The priests should also the right to let People know. I’m deaf so sometimes the church doesn’t have mass booklet to use, I use my cell phone to get to EWTN and read the mass reading for the day during the homily.
I too am deaf and I'm lost if there is no written word. I have seen others following the Mass on their phones.
I feel lost if there is no written word but I would never take out my cell phone. This can be done at home before or after Holy Mass.
Until now I have never thought about a person who is deaf following the Holy Mass on their phone.This is a reminder to me about being judgemental .Thankyou for raising this issue.I guess regarding the issue of modesty ,while I agree not everyone seems to understand some clothes are not appropriate for Mass; again this is a judgement.If a person comes to Mass that's a blessing regardless of how they are dressed.My focus should be on the Altar on the Holy Word and on what Jesus is saying to me.

I do as Jesus told us to do, I treat others the way he showed us 2000 years ago, with love and respect only, never judgement. If someone is late and it bothers you, offer them a ride. If someone is wearing clothing that is not up to your expectations, take them shopping. We don’t know what is going on in someone else’s life so always be respectful without judgment as judgment is the opposite of love. Where judgment exists, love cannot. Love others as Jesus has loved us. It’s very simple. We are all one. Encourage unity, not separation from one another, which is separation from God. I am so grateful for every person who enters God’s doors! I am catholic and I spread the word of God always inviting everyone no matter what! Have respect for all your brothers and sisters in all situations at all times, no matter where you are but most especially in Gods house where ALL ARE WELCOME and a place where we should be focused on our time with Jesus, not what anyone else is doing or wearing. ❤
