Hi Eric, I'm a big fan of your RUclips channel.
    I have a question.
I have to replace my main chain tensioner (350z,2004) because when starting it makes a little noise for a second.
is there a risk of shifting the distribution?
    Thank you for your answer.
looking forward to the next video😉🇲🇫

Thank you for watching! I'm not sure what you mean by shifting the distribution can you clarify

@@ERICSDIYGARAGE I understood that to replace the main timing tensioner you have to turn the crankshaft pulley in the opposite direction about 1/4 of a turn after removing the tensioner so that the chain is more relaxed to be able to put the new one on. If the chain is slack and you turn it, is there a risk of shifting the timing ???

No because the timing chain gluide is still in place. You don't need to move the timing. Put the car in top dead center and get a flat head and push the plunger on the chain tensioner back in, use a small pin to hold the down and remove the 2 10mm bolts and install the replacement once done remove the pin on the new tensioner and it will apply tension again. Slowly move the crank to fully extended the tensioner
