- GM has announced the top speed for the 2023 c8 Corvette Z06. BUT, it comes with a disclaimer. The Z07 package will also affect the top speed making the C8 Z06 slower than expected. It's not necessarily a bad thing though. The Corvette team says the Z06 is far more than just top speed. It's the ultimate track car.

I started looking for a z06 about 4 weeks ago from my local dealers. my wife bought a zl1 from another dealer. While in one they just had a 70th anniversary come in wrapped up and going into detail which startled as special edition but now is limited. They knew what i wanted the z06.I bought the 70th and paid 15 over msrp.It is a beautiful car.Well 4 days after purchase i get a call from the gsm. He tells me that he has one being built in 3000 status (mind you that this is about 5 days before gm haulted allocations etc) it is a hypersonis grey with adreline red interior carbon fiber etc. It has all option minus z07 and its a coupe.He told me that if i wanted it he would give me aall the dough back for the 70th and i need to pay 50 k over msrp. The msrp is just over 140k.I buy many specialty cars from the dealers and pay cash.He sent over the build sheet with the bzm number.It also is in 3000 , well now its beyond that. The car is now mine. You are right these cars will be worth alot. I dont see them being to produce alot. These really bee some of the last cars as we go electric.As in the next few yearss the supply chain isnt really going to be corrected easily and if GM was only going to do 10 percent of C8. I guess i was in the right place at right time. Also yes this car is worth 50 k over msrp to me.
I wanted a Z06 - I was able to get an allocation for a Z51 package. - It'll be plenty fast enough and I am looking forward to it. - I have a 17 GS super charged and it's a smile maker.

Those numbers are excellent and nobody that buys this car will ever need more power except maybe to win on the dragstrip which not many will likely do with their $120K plaything. Even though the torque numbers are low compared to many other high-performance cars, because of the 8600 redline, it will just keep the revs high up throughout a quarter mile run.
I love corvettes, and I think their the best in the world in my OPINION.The more I'm reading, the Engineers were not concerned about reaching 190 plus.Yes,to see a number of 205 -215 range maybe,but I'm reaching huh..
I think the c8 z07 just has a speed limiter.
An extra 175hp to get 1 mph more I VERY MUCH DOUBT IT.
(Sole EDIT: with base non Z51 C8 this being 180hp!).
Having seen the 194 mph base C8 run that obtained that figure, it was with a passenger as well, fiddling around with a laptop computer.
Ok the C8 Z06 has a posted weight of 1561kg as opposed to the base C8 at 1530kg with wider tires so a higher rolling resistance, maybe a bit less drag coefficient, more so obviously with a bigger wing.
I suppose it all depends upon the gearing, optimised more for acceleration than top speed, but I'm sure given a long enough road owners will get a genuine 200mph. Maybe more.
It hardly being 195 mph at maximum revs in top gear, I bet.

Anyway it is $15k more than it need be, though GM/Chevrolet knew were it priced around $90k the dealers would price gouge it even more than what many will anyway.
So must have thought they'll pocket the extra cash themselves.
Thing was, GM/Chevrolet knew all along it was going to be $15k+ more than what many enthusiasts were hoping for, YET did not put them straight from the start.
Preferring to lead them along in their ENTHUSIASM, keeping that going, then at the last minute to actually secure orders revealed the overpriced price.
Many folks are very disappointed, that is unforgivable. No excuses for it.
GM/Chevrolet have produced a very fine motor vehicle and should be commended on that but should also be condemned for 'doing the dirty on People'.
Enthusiasts have been USED!!!. And they feel it deep down.
The cuck's out there though will put up with almost anything as usual and are even likely to attempt to defend GM/Chevrolet.
There are no excuses for it, they knew the sort of price it was going to be and could SEE all along the consensus price expectation.
But chose to MILK the enthusiasm in a cold hearted board room decision way.

I'd sooner have a base C8 in 1LT trim, keep it for 5 years then slap a Supercharger on it any way.
Or if the E-ray is priced between a C8 and the C8 Z06 get that, then in 5 years time slap a Supercharger on that.
Easily a 900+hp performance vehicle then, with all wheel drive to handle the performance better.
That a C8 Z06 or even a C8 ZR1 will likely never have.
At $95k an E-Ray is well worth getting for what it initially would be and what it 'could' be.
Its POTENTIAL.

C6 was all about top speed. I miss those days. The base model ls2 was able to hit 190 mph easy. The grandsport C6 with the ls3 195 mph. Z06 with only 505 horsepower would touch 200 mph. The c6 zr1 205 mph maybe more. Even the c5 was great with top speed. The c5 ls1 350 horsepower would be able to hit 180 mph. The c5 z06 Maybe 190. The c7 corvettes changed everything. Base models will barely hit 180 mph. Z06 without the z07 190ish. With z07 it won't see 190 mph. Zr1 ZTK 190ish. Without the ZTK it can hit 212 mph.
The car pulls 1.22 gs. I think that is some skidpad information.
Given it’s touted sprinting abilities- sounds like they’ve accomplished the goal to create a strong track performer. Having said that - with all of the nonsense surrounding availability and pricing - I’ve lost all interest in the car.

? The c8 stingray tops out at 195Mph and the C8 Z06 tops out at 215Mph with 670Hp 0-60 in 2.6 seconds wtf.

A supercar does 200 mph plus period. If not it's not a real supercar

Unless you are actually going on a track. I don't see how it's worth it over a Plaid which is faster to 60 and more practical as a daily.
And no dealer markups if you order it straight from Tesla I heard.
EVs are nice unless you’re in the Midwest where’s there’s literally no Tesla chargers…
electric cars are still impractical. they didnt address the issues that need addressed before trying to roll out in mass. they should have had interchangeable standardized batteries that can be hot swapped when pulling up to a fueling station. the electrical grid cannot handle more than a low percentage of people charging electric vehicles at the same time. just look at california where they are calling to ban gas cars, but currently have rolling blackouts because the grid cant handle people running their air conditioners.

Well “He” dosent know wtf he’s talking about because if you search the c8 z06 top speed the first thing that pops up are the specs and it clearly shows all the stats and a top speed of 215Mph with 670 hp 0-60 2.6 seconds 😹😹
