Personally I'd like them to return the car or Toad Scramble mode, and make improvements on it. We don't really need a new "classic" game as there are nine of them, plus 6 is as perfect of a classic game it can get. The other formulas are more unique and have far more potential by this point

Sure, I think modes like that would be fun interesting additions as an option for players. I think you need a classic mode in there as while I do agree that 6 was great, people will buy a Mario Party game expecting the Classic mode. Having more options and modes is probably the way forward.
Id be interested in if they did bring it back how they would actually change it.

These are all some pretty interesting suggestions. I think to add on to the night/day suggestion is various mini-games getting remixed. Essentially most of them would have altered variations that mix up the mechanics (faster, more aggressive AI, change in coins put up or rewarded. It could be tied into changes on boards themselves or maybe even ones that only happen in the last 5/10 turns.

That would be a good idea, So you cannot get comfortable with a minigame, which was a problem when someone who has played the game plays with a casual crowd. The all important Chaos needed for a fun party experience.

These are some really cool suggestions! It's a shame there aren't a lot of idea/improvement videos like these out there. Talking about the ways games could evolve while also maintaining their core identity is a super fascinating topic. Though one thing that I think could use some tweaking is the green star mechanic. Instead of having it as an option at all times, what if you could only buy them at the shop? I think that would make more sense thematically and it would reinforce the decision of "should I go for the cheap item or should I invest in some green stars?". Plus It would also keep players focused on the main goal of collecting the yellow stars and not have them think green stars are equal to/more important. Anyways, I hope 2022's been treating you well! Looking forward to whatever you make next!

I could certainly see that working as a mechanic for Green Stars as ultimately collecting coins is the major part of Mario Party, so that adds more risk to items!
It is going well and there are more surprises in store in the future! Hope it is treating you well as well!

I've recently been introduced to the concept of legacy games: Board games that have a sort of campaign in which the individual sessions have an impact on future ones.
I feel like this could spice up _Mario Party_ in an interesting way; it often bothered me how to story mode in some titles seemed somewhat lackluster, as you basically just played the boards in a pre-set order. Once you've unlocked everything the story mode has to offer, there's not much reason to play it again, even if you have the option to play it with others; you might as well just play the individual boards as you please. (Which might lead to the players choosing the same boards over and over, while the less popular ones get neglected.)
I would like to see a campaign where the players' decisions and the games outcome influence the later boards: Maybe there are a set number of boards per campaign, but which ones you get to play depends on your actions. Or the way the spaces are placed or how you get around the board is changed due to your previous decisions. There could only be "one board" as far as the story is concerned, but because Player X woke the giant Fire Piranha Plant, the ice continent you played on turns into a water world in the next session.
This can give the players something to do beyond just grabbing stars (so if you realise you are too far behind to catch up, you might still achieve an advantage (or your favourite board) for the next session), and give players an incentive to repeat the campaign several times, as every playthrough can bring something new.
That being said, I fear that this would be too much effort for Nintendo to put into a series that apparently sells more than well enough without it.

That's actually a fantastic Idea... I have been playing things like Twilight imperium and the Bloodborne boardgame. An indepth story mode has always really been lacking and just kept to "play a round on a board". Something like that sounds very fun and interesting, you could do Co-op with this as well as lots of different interesting ways of playing Mario Party.
It is as you say that Nintendo doesn't seem to care much for any major innovation and the fact we got a Minigame gauntlet as a new feature is actually shocking. I hope we see more games like Pummel Party in the future try and compete and offer a better alternative
