Beautiful song and he sing with his heart and soul. Thank for this wonderful reaction. Both of you guys, complete each other and its pleasant and instructive to watch your reaction. A lot of complicity and friendship and sometimes you make me laugh a lot. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Have a great week-end 💕
I believe the main theme of this song is Hua Hua wants to express anti-war from a child’s perspective. The child used to lived in an old house with parents and a dog, it was old but filled with love, but now everything is gone, it was a dream for the child to go back to the old good days, but they will be re-united in the heaven. So it’s a song for Peace!
A new song for Hua Hua’s Chongqing stop. So beautiful. Thank you for your ‘Special’!! The new song for his Birds Nest concerts ‘Never Cross Paths’ is worth listening as well!!
This song was written to call for world peace, and no wars anymore. It sings about the children who lost their parents, houses, everything..in the wars. I will not forget my feeling when I heard this song in the live concert-very shocked and moved, as a human living on this earth.🥲
Hua's new song "Ship of Theseus" is beautifully interesting and thought provoking too. Hope you will react to it as well. He always talks a little bit about his new song when introducing it for the first time, so be sure to see his talk segment if you want to pick his brain 🧠
Hua can hold his breath for a very long time, which could be seen in other of his more complex songs. However, Hua mentioned that he changes his style of singing for songs. He once said that in his opinion, his voice is also a music instrument. He adjusts it and sings each song in a way he thinks it would be the best for audiences to feel what he really wants to express, including all his different emotions, influencing the audiences. He is really a unique artist, I'm always impressed by his attitude to music ❤❤ impressive and really brave Hua. He is not afraid of what others would say about him, becuz he knows his abilities well. ❤Hua also said b4 that his body motions are natural, he just follows his mood and the music at that moment. he can't do those second time 😂😂
Thank you, guys! And please, try all his latest new songs! "Ship of Theseus", "Quirky Psychology", this one (warm house) and "Never cross paths" are necessary messages to the world. This is a request from a big fan who is also a mental health professional and who uses all of his art to help people and connect with themselves and the world. I also share your reactions with some clients because it helps to illustrate some points in this regard. Thank you for your contributions, I love your always genuine reactions, especially Johnny's enchantment with each Hua Hua song. I feel represented.hahaha Greetings from Brazil!
Thanks a lot for yet another reaction to Hua Hua! 😊 Someone in the comments copied & pasted an excerpt of his recent interview with PORT magazine and there's another of his answers that fits what you were talking about with regard to pitch, etc. It is machine translated, so hopefully, it's not too far off from the original meaning. See below! Other than that, I've already recommended his Healing Trilogy (I really want myself back, Meet when Flowers Fall, Let's go watch the sunrise together) as a continuation to the Mars Trilogy (I really want to love this world, Madhouse, Conversations with Chrildren from Mars) you already reacted to (see my comment there). But I think it'd also be quite interesting to see you react to "When the Whole World Forgets Me". When you go to the "Hua Chenyu English Subs" channel and search for the song title, select the video with "official" in the title (there's only one with "official" in the title). That would be the official concert music video from last year's Mars Concert. The official concert videos do tend to have way better audio than fancams, which is to be expected, even though you reacted to a fancam of "Warm House" here. But then again, this particular fan group ("marscaotai" here on YT) has the most mind-blowing fancams with regard to video and audio quality and editing! Anway, I digress...thanks again! 🌹: "First of all, I think a live broadcast is a very good thing because when you listen on the scene, you listen to the most authentic and current state. There is no way to modify the sound later in the live broadcast, and the audience can intuitively feel the singer's current emotional state. There are definitely flaws. After all, humans are not machines. They are not like pianos or other musical instruments, or computer instruments that are always tuned accurately. It is impossible for the human voice, singers will have emotions on stage, which, I think, is the most precious thing about live performances. After the emotional point is reached, a certain note of the singer may tremble a little, resulting in a deviation in pitch, or even exaggeration and broken sound. But he may be in this state at some emotional point, and you can't hear this state in the recording studio. In the recording studio your most stable voice is selected. Although now, when making music, we are slowly starting to mix, trying to record the singer's true emotional state instead of selecting the most stable track, but it is still incomparable to performing live."
15:48 I've watched videos of his rehearsals, and he doesn't do any of that because he's focusing on the music during those. I think what you see in these performances is an honest, in-the-moment display of his physical/emotional response to the songs as they flow through him.
Yes he just let the emotion flow with the song. N we the audience feel him right there. I never miss his live concert n make effect to attend every one.. so additive
Thank you for this reaction, I really love this song, it is so evocative and gently melancholic without being melodramatic. I enjoyed your comments, personally I find that some technically perfect performances can feel sterile and soulless. I have seen a lot a really big names over the years, and the ones that left a lasting impact were those who focussed more on emotion than those who focussed on the technicalities. When I watched a performance where he battled through a song with tears visibly streaming down his face it left such an impact on me seeing a performer immerse themselves into the music to such an extent they lived the song, Sometimes I am amazed he actually finishes the songs, but he is not afraid of it, and those who understand love him for his open honesty (his mistakes are usually fun to watch too) 🌺🌺
My birthday is on the 14th aswell! Warm House Eternal Flame Ship Of Theseus Quirky Psychology Never Cross Paths 5 new songs from Chenyu! These are not just songs, these are stories and messages, that are REAL and RELEVENT to us! His philosophies, the use of analogies, the use of metaphors are very thought provoking and really connects with reality!
Yes, raw, but so is the emotion. It makes the song.. MORE perfect, because of how he makes you feel, by how he himself is emotional over some words. Absolutely "pitch perfecting" performances can make them soulless... "perfection", which can no longer be.. Perfect... because you erase emotion.
I agree! The voice is NEVER enough to impress me, its the artist and his music and performances as a whole that does. You can have a great voice but if I don't resonate with you or your songs or there is no connection between me and the artist, then I will not listen to you!
I love HuaHua's little imperfections. It makes it real and authentic. He puts conveying the emotions over "perfect" singing. His music and singing is captivating, wonderful, beautiful, thought-provoking, fun, sometimes sad, simply amazing to me. He brought my love for music back. I am not a singer or musician myself so I can't describe with words why but his music and singing are perfect to me. Thank you for another great Hua Chenyu reaction ❤.
This song is advocating world peace, an anti-war song. The 'tireless birds' refer to bombers destroying everything on their passage and from the child"s perspective who reminiscent his lost home.
Appreciate your take on auto tune. Hua's composition are at times complicated to sing even for him. But appreciate his bold effort to make his own unconventional music and make it as authentic and raw voice. As far as Hua's body language, he has always had magnetic quirky body movements that just flows with the mood of the songs. He clams he can't dance, and don't like to, but when push come to shove he definately can nail it.
The Bombing of Chongqing is a deeply painful and significant part of history, bringing immense trauma and loss to the city and its people. His choice to perform this profoundly meaningful song in this city might be a tribute to that history or a call for people to remember the devastating consequences of war. As China’s provisional capital during the Second Sino-Japanese War, Chongqing endured over six years of bombing, which stands in stark contrast to modern appeals for peace. This connection to history, especially expressed through art and music, often evokes profound emotional resonance and reflection.
Aaaah, thank youuuuu ❤. Looking forward to it. He sung another new song at his Birds Nest concert yesterday. It is amazing too. Maybe you could put the song on your list . The song is called " Never cross paths".
This guy is amazing. Very talented. Liked your analysis. On another note you guys really need to see Lara's recent live performance of Curuso with Hauser at the Royal Albert Hall. Spectactular!
Aloha Richard and Johnny! I love Hua Hua for all his imperfections; which I am usually not aware of anyway. I love it; because as you say, I am more sucked into the mood or vibe that his song needs him to be at! Otherwise, Hua Hua wouldn’t be the unique out-of-the- box performer, that we love about him! He is a total master and genius of his craft and him being the top artist in China speaks for itself! No other artist creates the sometimes weird and magical sounds that only Hua Hua creates! It goes perfectly with is weird contortions as the song requires! Ok, that is my spiel on this subject!
Hello! I am one of your subscribers / fans here. Thank you for sharing your music talent, knowledge and expertise to all of us. So happy with your reactions and how you act as fans too sometimes❤ Hope you’d feature Irwan Felix, too. He is underrated singer/ artist. Thank you so much and God bless you🙏💐
Hua Chenyu x Port Port Magazine (Excerpt) Reporter: Have you ever thought about becoming a "voice of the times"? When you are most ambitious, have you ever wanted to represent something? 🌹: I always have that thought. The works I write are all with the desire to be able to help some people, as for the level of influence or value it brings, along with the scope of impact, I feel there is a difference, but that difference will not be too big. For example, if many people like my work, I am very happy; if only a part of people like it, I am also happy. If one day, this work suddenly becomes famous and is loved by everyone, I will still be happy. My level of happiness is not related to the number of people who love my song. PV: For example, as music listeners, as receivers, perhaps we say that we don't need to be represented, don't want to be represented, but when there is a work that really represents us, we will still acknowledge its greatness. So actually we don't object to that. 🌹: It seems that I haven't started thinking about this issue. I don't care too much about whether I become a great person or not. When I felt that I had reached that state and wanted to do something, like the sunrise concert, I composed a song called "Let's go watch the sunrise together" 3 years ago. Once during a livestream, a fan commented, "Since you wrote this song, can we really go watch the sunrise together one day?" I thought that idea was very interesting, very fun, and I came up with this idea, so I wanted to do it. After that, I added content and composed the song "Towards the Sun". But I didn't think "If I do this, I will become a great person", but simply found it interesting, fun and meaningful. So let's complete it together. PV: If doing this receives some unexpected reviews, for example, someone says you are great, how will you feel? 🌹: As I said, that value doesn't change much. If someone thinks I am great, or I have helped them a lot, I might be happy when I know that. The word "great" is simply their way of affirming the positive influence I have brought to them, right? For me, that's not a big deal. PV: Technically, which of your works do you think is the best? 🌹: Technically, each song has its own unique characteristics. Complicated songs like "Seven Personalities", "Illusion and Reality", "Insane Institute", just from a technical point of view, these songs feel like they are not easy to write at all.
@@throga Algood! As a martian, I am very much into Chenyu's unique and unconventional music compositions, his ideas, his P.O.Vs, and his philosophy in music, which makes him so inspiring! We martians love him for those- I guess thats why to us; he is our favorite artist and others thinks we are weird but at the same time we are just so PROUD of it!
he's a very inspiring person, very simple and basic things we usually do not give a second thought about in life but he somehow gives an answer that is easily understandable and wise down to earth answers really, nothing fancy or "trying to be special" statements I wish to speak my thoughts like him --> humble but confident in his expertise like how-
@throga You should find Hua's cover of Creep. Most renditions of Creep are basically self-loathing. The object of desire is put on a pedestal, but at a distant. But Hua gives a performance (and make no mistake, Hua is a performer, almost as much as an actor on stage as a singer) that is creepy. When you think "what is a creep", it's often from the perspective of target of affection and the creep is just seen as creepy. You're almost scared to be near Hua when he sings "Creep". Yes, his English is not very good when he sings the song, but the emotion is definitely there.
I am glad to hear your reaction and your opinion on vocal pitch. These opinions actually echo those of Hua Chenyu. During a recent interview by the Ports Magazine, Hua Chenyu responded to a reporter: "There are definitely going to be flaws because humans are not machines. Human voices are not like pianos or other instruments, or computers where the pitch is always perfectly tuned. Human voices can't be perfectly accurate, but singers have emotions on stage, which is what I think is the most precious thing about live performances. When emotions are high, a singer's voice might tremble a little, leading to pitch deviations, or even, in extreme cases, voice cracking. But there may be emotional points where the singer needs this state, and it's something you can't experience in a recording studio. The recording studio picks the most stable vocal take, though music production is gradually moving towards capturing the singer's true emotional state, rather than just selecting the most stable take, but it's still incomparable to live performances."
Thank you for reacting to Hua again. Will you please react to his songs Child and Qi tian? Thank you. Have a great day! I promise you will both love those songs.
I totally agree with you guys! He also previously talked about the "liveness" of performances, sometimes the overall vibe and emotions are more important than "perfect" singing. when you mentioned "musical" omg there's a big reason to why I prefer watching his performances then just listening at times; he's a whole package
about his body languange, he had talk to us that most of it was created very naturally, like the actions was on his mind when he composed the demo of the song, thus we can see that some of the song got some specific action in certain part, and some of the body language just an improvise during the singing
I recommend you can react to Hua 's Qi Tian, his original song,in which he shows a wide vocal range and a cover "Must Be Happy", a traditional love song.“Wild Contra” from Singer 2020 And ”Black and White“ artists can't be missed too! They all different style,Thank you your reaction!
When the life is off pitch, how could we sing on picth?I believe Hua made the pitch deviation on purpose to deliver the extremely sorrow and desperation from war. What kind of master skill is in need to show the same off-pitch in all the performances. Amazing!
In case you guys haven't seen it yet here's the setlist from the OOR concert: Delusion:All, Ketsuraku Automation, Re:make, Jibun Rock, Save Yourself, Decision, Renegades, Wonder, Kimishidai Resha, Make it out Alive, wherever you are, Take What you Want, Instrumental, Karasu, Neon, The Beginning, We Are, Mighty Long Fall, Stand out fit in. Encore: New song, Let's Take it Someday, Wasted Nights. They played a lot of their older stuff. There's actually one song, Let's Take it Someday, they haven't played since 2016. You have to check it out. The crowd participation is on another level. Taka's crowd control is truly insane. In regards to the newer songs, you've already reacted to most of them. See you in Toronto

Hua Chenyu:

Truely love this artist Hua Chenyu! His song always touched my soul. I am so glad that I know him and have his songs with me in this world!
When I listened this song first time, I immediately felt he wrote this song for Gaza’s children who lost their home and parents in the war.

Love this! Thank you for sharing :)
@@throga Algood! As a martian, I am very much into Chenyu's unique and unconventional music compositions, his ideas, his P.O.Vs, and his philosophy in music, which makes him so inspiring! We martians love him for those- I guess thats why to us; he is our favorite artist and others thinks we are weird but at the same time we are just so PROUD of it!
he's a very inspiring person, very simple and basic things we usually do not give a second thought about in life but he somehow gives an answer that is easily understandable and wise
down to earth answers really, nothing fancy or "trying to be special" statements
I wish to speak my thoughts like him --> humble but confident in his expertise
like how-
@throga You should find Hua's cover of Creep.
But we'd rather see a reaction to his own work, which Huahua has said is what he really wants to express
Gracias por apreciar a este artista en forma tan integral, su sinceridad como artista.
I am glad to hear your reaction and your opinion on vocal pitch. These opinions actually echo those of Hua Chenyu.
During a recent interview by the Ports Magazine, Hua Chenyu responded to a reporter:
"There are definitely going to be flaws because humans are not machines.
Nice reaction ~~

❤There’s another new song from Huahua called “Never cross path”, hope you will enjoy it as well❤️🥹, this song really makes me cry😭
Душераздирающая песня. Столько боли в голосе. Он умеет передавать это, как никто другой. Как всегда, спасибо огромное за реакцию. Вы лучшие!!!❤
I totally agree with you guys! He also previously talked about the "liveness" of performances, sometimes the overall vibe and emotions are more important than "perfect" singing.
when you mentioned "musical" omg there's a big reason to why I prefer watching his performances then just listening at times; he's a whole package
the voice means very little to me, its his MUSIC ARTISTRY as a whole that I respect!
@@regularperson4106 yes, you have a great point! there is no way to pinpoint one thing to like about him, he's awesome idk what else to say
👍
Love Hua Hua ❤️
❤❤❤
about his body languange, he had talk to us that most of it was created very naturally, like the actions was on his mind when he composed the demo of the song, thus we can see that some of the song got some specific action in certain part, and some of the body language just an improvise during the singing
Good everning❤
也超级喜欢你们的reaction ,特别是对花花的,哈哈哈哈,也非常喜欢你们专业的点评❤
❤
期待!

Very well said!
3:50, He reviewed in an interview that two background tone were actually pre-recorded by him
❤❤❤🎉
When the life is off pitch, how could we sing on picth?I believe Hua made the pitch deviation on purpose to deliver the extremely sorrow and desperation from war.
What kind of master skill is in need to show the same off-pitch in all the performances. Amazing!
His voice was great with
In case you guys haven't seen it yet here's the setlist from the OOR concert: Delusion:All, Ketsuraku Automation, Re:make, Jibun Rock, Save Yourself, Decision, Renegades, Wonder, Kimishidai Resha, Make it out Alive, wherever you are, Take What you Want, Instrumental, Karasu, Neon, The Beginning, We Are, Mighty Long Fall, Stand out fit in.
Thank you!! Looking forward to meeting you in person :)
Awesome ❤
