I am 100% proud of you for doing absolutely everything right starting up your betta tank! Heater-check! Water treatment-check! 5 gallons-check! Hidey spot-check! Bacteria to start cycle-check! Ammonia test before adding fish-check! Temperature acclimate-check! Lid-check! Gentle water flow-check! Feed small amount-check! Great job!

@@spencer2703 yep, but go check out the crappy job his friend Paul did setting up a betta tank. The info is available, but will people follow it? Mostly no. Most pet stores will happily sell a fish bowl with a betta. I’m always glad to see newbies making the effort to do things right and present good examples.
I have had several betta fish. For about 3 years I had a male betta in a 5 Gallon next to a 20 gallon with a huge topper for 2 gerbils. The Betta would dance and react to the sweet gerbils antics. Betta will always have a special place in my heart. They can live to up to 5 years if kept properly and can be very outgoing and wonderful to watch and interact with. Thanks for actually researching and informing people.

Great video man! Even though it's a small tank it looks real nice. You start off small but the passion for it will grow and before you know it you will have a whole 1000 g saltwater aquarium 🤣 and we will be looking forward to that as well!

Hey Griffin, what a great looking first tank. Looks like you've done everything right, but always expect the unexpected. Before I moved to Vegas, I always had fish. great hobby and well worth the effort. It's also good for lowering blood pressure. I'm very happy and proud of you for getting this. Thank You, as always Griffin, for sharing and I think You should name it "Aquarius," partly since it is a cool name for a blue fish and it just seems to fit it. Thank You again & look forward to your next video.

I recommend to take that big center plant out, the main reason bettas need a bigger tank is for food to swim, maybe just a few smaller ones in the side

1. You should set the heater to 80 cuz 70 is to cold for betta’s.
2.take the big fake plant out it’s to sharp for the betta.
But overall it’s great❤

Definitely better then the first tank I had lmao, I still have bettas today too, definitely a good starting point. A suggestion I’d give is if you notice the water flow is to strong for him, you can pull off the head where the water is Comming out and put a small piece of a course sponge in , it will slow it down without stopping water, or filter floss before the main sponge might slow water down.
My fluval tanks have the same water spout heads

I also got my first tank this week. I had a couple as a kid but they was never really mine. After watching Paul, Brenton etc for a while with my daughter, I decided it was time to get my own. Only started out with a small temperate tank with some Danios and minnow's, but everyone has to start somewhere hey 😂

Tank looks great! Bettas don't like high flow, it looks like he is struggling a little. You could put a little filter floss or something over the spray nozzle to slow the flow down, my name suggestion would be butters

My beta fish always had enough bacteria inside them to not worry about that when doing my water change when I was young and it would live through the roughest conditions before changing the water. Beta fish is in my opinion the easiest fish to take care of. Now that I'm older I realized how much I didn't take care of my beta! 😅
Also, I had no bubbler or filters, so maybe he just created his own beneficial bacteria!🤔
Those plants you have in there are to sharp, you need to get one that are round leaf and leaf that stick to the side so he can sleep on it

I let my tanks cycle for 4 months then I put a snail in them a month later I put a small fish in let him go for a week feed a little then a week later I feed him fully then I put my other fish in

I have had some betta fish but they weren’t my favorite fish out of the fishes that I have had and my favorite fishes that I have had has to be the granddaddy of my fish my three spot Gourami, My balla shark, my red tail shark, my freshwater angelfish, and my tiger and Tinfoil barbs and I would say that out of my fishes the ones that freaked me out had to be my glass catfish and they freaked me out because I could see through them and I also didn’t really like this other fish that I had but it was okay but the part I didn’t like about the fish was that the next morning after I got the fish it had passed away like I don’t know if it was old or was sick or was abused but I don’t really know what happened and the fish was a Mickey Mouse platy however I also really liked my swordtails and they were amazing for to watch because to me they were my miniature freshwater swordfish’s even though they aren’t swordfish.
