Hmm, I would switch the position of the two blue outlines, so the the water turnes from the brightes blue on the shore to the darkest blue of the baseplate. But I love the design:)
OMG - this was so helpful! I had placed my dark tan 1x4 plates vertical to the beach instead of horizontal as in you MOC - this makes more sense. As well as adding layers of plates to create illusion of sand dunes and graduating into grass. I was also using round 1x1s (white and transparent) to depict the waves, but I needed a little more "umph" so putting plates down and then the 1x1 and wedge tiles will help a lot. Thanks again for the tutorial!!!
JC, this looks great! always love to see what you can create from a few bricks and plates! this technique is great to see! great tip to follow nature and not have any straight lines! love the darker color to give the impression of wet sand and the white for the foam! Variety and density is important! LegoLove this! Vickie 😃💙🌈💚😀
Good job! The only thing I would've done slightly different is the waves reaching the beach, I think they deserve more '3-dimensionality'. Maybe put trans-clear plates on top. The crown of the palm tree looks very cool albeit being a 'simple' build. I need 2 of those for a MOC I'm planning to do and I will use that building technique. Thanks for that!
Oh, terrain - and making it natural - is a very difficult task indeed! Especially as nature has a tendency NOT to move in straight lines - much less small, perfect squares :-D I think you did well here - the transition between the water and the sand turned out great and I like how you added dynamic to the ground by stacking plates! Using the different colors of plates for the edge of the water (and also for the grass) is an interesting touch and I really like it for sure - combining it with the trans clear cheese wedges is a brilliant touch indeed! Great little tutorial and very interesting topic to discuss! Maybe you could do a video on how to make forested areas look good too!? Thanks for sharing your creativity!
That was great JC how you get the different effects from the wet sand and water different shading on the water the look of retro plates with out having one..thank for the tutorials I’m going to watch the rock one next I missed it yesterday...👍👍❤️
Gah. I have so many many many of your videos to catch up on. >_< Actually going to be starting on both my shoreline/beach and central park as my next city projects, so this is perfect. XD
@@SmallBrickCity Haha. Canada for a while on vacation, then dealing with both our dogs having medical issues back to back. >_< Silver Lining; hours of unseen videos to watch while I catch up on work. XD You've certainly been a busy bee.
Thank you very much for your video. I can really use your ideas on my beach, especially the water effect looks awesome!
You are welcome! Thanks!

Yes, that makes more sense! Thanks!
good tips
Could you please build a lego water park I would like to see tipps on building such waterslides
The layers at the edge of the water are really effective at making the transition. I think I will have to head to Bricklink for some more plates 😉
Ha ha ha - why is it that most LEGO videos I see make me sigh for more bricks :-D
Thanks!
i like it

Yes that works for the waves. I actually did that for my LEGO city. This is an easier lazy way :D

I was wondering how you have your loose pieces organized?
I am saving that for a special occasion. I have a bit of a different way of organising and storing my parts which aids in building fast.
