I think her words are so kind and and I think what she meant when she said Catriona is a miss world to her is Catriona embrace what beauty with a purpose means. She’s using the platform of being a titleholder to bring awareness to causes and being an advocate. And I think this is great to see the camaraderie between these two organizations. The women of miss world and miss universe are both amazing representation of using your platform to do good in the world.
Well thank Ms Julia for that kind words. Still the people especially the Filipinos need more time to accept your statement. No matter what happened on that day, still Ms Catriona Gray should have been our 2nd Miss World. @Cephas Mariano Sure, had Catriona won Miss World 2016, the Philippines would've joined Venezuela as the only nations to complete the Big Four international beauty pageant (Universe, World, International and Earth) cycle twice.
But since Catriona didn't win Miss World 2016, Catriona moved on and won arguably a much bigger crown in Miss Universe 2018 and in the process, extending the Philippines' Big Four pageant title streak to six consecutive years.

That being said, Mexico's Andrea Meza was the first former Miss World top three finisher to win Miss Universe.
The other five saw two of them finish in the Top Five, but not in the top three in Michelle McLean and Catriona Gray while the other three were unplaced in Georgina Rizk, Angela Visser, and Mpule Kwelagobe.

This interview just clearly states how things have been. Ms. Universe 2018 Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray had her moment now. Looking back won't matter though it brought Team Catriona to a higher goal of checking everything to ensure the win is feasible. Venezuela's Diana Croce was unplaced in MW 2016, but crossed over to Miss International 2017 and was placed as second runner-up.
Chile's Antonia Figueroa was also unplaced in MW 2016, but crossed over to Miss Earth 2018 and was placed in the Top 12.

I still have respect on her. I just learned to move on. So what if Catriona didn't win.. she's not destined to win the Miss World, Miss Universe does. To all bashers and haters of MW, You should study Pageantry 101 so you know to accept defeat. We clapped so many times in all Int. pageant but when we begin to win with continuous streak we became big beaded. Just realtalk. Afterall, PH have one MW crown and Catriona is now Miss Universe and she's not the only best candidate for the Filipinos can send to MW for sure we can still send more deserving woman for the next Miss World crown.

I also argue that Catriona had a much better, stronger and fiercer performance in MU 2018 than in MW 2016 to win in Bangkok and kept the Philippines' Big Four international beauty pageant title winning streak alive for six consecutive years.

She knows how to make it sound real and not over the top emotional or HYPER.
