It is easier for Catriona to express herself in English. People should analyze properly. Cat pronounces Tondo and Mayon like a foreigner, for example. So our other Filipina Miss Universe winners actually did better with English as their second language.

I agree with many comments saying that she will set the bar very high for future Miss Universes. There is sincerity in her objectives and her platform, it is not fake. She is not there to just be a beauty and glamour object, but she appears to be there to make a real difference. Very well-spoken and leaves a very good image of the Philippines. (Tim Tebow could have waited so it's full circle... hahaha just kidding - congratulations on the engagement Tim! Wasn't Tim born in the Philippines?)
Tim grew up in the Philippines to a missionary parents. Demi Leigh is a conservative Christian while Catriona is like Born Again christian, not so sure though.
