It’s been almost 30 years since she became a finalist in Miss World 1994 and Cara Subijano continues to be remembered for her ‘legacy’ during the competition.

Only when I passed the teen years did I appreciate my height kasi marami pong opportunities ang nabigay sa akin. Masasabi ko po na nung pageant ko ay nakatulong para mapansin ang height ko sa competition dahil hindi po common an isang Asian na 5'11". :) - Cara

When I finished my reign, I started working in broadcasting (ABS-CBN/Skycable News) so I was more focused on getting stories of other people. My niece Stephanie Dods(married to KC Monter ) was crown at the dress rehearsal..Miss world 2007..she was the baby of the group then..she was turning on 17 at that time...

8:50 That mock-crowning was also known as the "cursed crowning" in that the "winner" does not win on the actual finals night. Halle Berry, MW-USA 1986, "won" the mock pageant but also did not win and, just like Cara Subijano, also made the first cut-- the top ten semis.

After experiencing the Miss World pageant, I was really amazed at their high caliber of production. I did not expect to meet President Mandela, but I did, and what an honor! I do feel other pageants are also highly-regarded. :) - Cara
