      Finding Our Someday Native WestCoaster from the Bay Area (now transplanted to AZ now 🌵)
      My X husbands father was the Executive Producer of “Honey I Shrunk the kids”. I LOVE that movie. I remember when he was helping design the ride for Disneyland. We went for that opening, my girls loved it (now adults)

    I took my Mom out to the coast and then down the 101 to San Fran and onward as she had never touched the ocean about a month before she unexpectedly passed (I have awesome video of her taking her walker into the waves- I had to stop her from going too far into the soft sand). I thought for sure the coast or the Grand Canyon would be her favorite, I thought Death Valley would be mine- we both LOVED the trees in Redwood and Sequioa parks. She was just gobsmacked. It's a special place for me.

    • @FindingOurSomeday
      @FindingOurSomeday  4 года назад

      Sorry to hear about your mom☹️ but it’s amazing that you were able to do all that with her. You did what people say they wish they would have done. You made it happen! People ask us all the time what are the must see places and the top of the list is places that have the ability to transform your thought process. Big trees, Yellowstone, the northern lights, and Yosemite. Obviously that list changes for different people , but those are some of the places that stick out to us. Thanks so much for sharing this story , and again, sorry for you loss. Stay safe 🙏😊

    I love the Redwoods. When driving to Washington state, I stopped at every forest. Loved the Humbolt forest with the Candelabra tree that you can drive your truck through, the Trees of Mystery, even rode the sky tram that takes you up through the tops of the trees. I hope you get the Sequoia Natl Forest so you can see the General, it is the largest in the U.S. Thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories for me. Have safe travels and be safe out there!

    Reminds us of the time we explored Vancouver Island. The trees there were almost as big and the coast was incredible. It's definitely something we want to do with the RV in the future. Although the ferry costs a fortune to go to the island, the campgrounds are relatively Cheap and the scenery is incredible. Oh and for your water issue filling (without thread) you need a water Thief.... We have two just in case - they've saved us, especially in National parks when a lot of the taps don't have threads.

    Welcome to my backyard. I was born in Berkeley, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay area (in the east bay). There are so many places to suggest. Mt. Lassen (volcanic thermal activity), Lake Tahoe (Kodak moments everywhere), Muir Woods (serene forest just north of San Francisco), Napa Valley (wine tasting), Mt. Diablo (I believe you can see more real estate from the top of this mountain (under 4,000 feet) than any other spot on the continent, but the turns will be tight for your truck so don't even think about pulling your trailer up there), San Francisco (Golden Gate park, Oceanside Drive, Coit Tower, Fisherman's wharf (USS Pampanito WWII submarine, Fisherman's Grotto, Sailing vessels, Ghirardelli Square, walk out to the middle of the Golden Gate bridge, top of Twin Peaks for the most definite Kodak moment you will have in The City, See's Candies, sourdough bread, Treasure Island in the middle of the bay), Yosemite (obviously), Sequoia National Forest (if you like the big trees along the north coast, you will be blown away by the Sequoia trees), Monterey Bay (aquarium), Big Sur (gorgeous camping), San Juan Bautista (mission history), San Simeon (Hearst Castle), Death Valley (this is the best time of the year to drive through), etc.. I have a rather large back yard.

    If your haven't gone passed Fresno California yet go to Sequoia National Park the trees there are amazing . I went there decades ago while I was in California visiting my sister . She lived in Hanford at the time in the San Joaquin Valley . She worked in an office at a fruit packing company . I'm an East Coaster . I grew up north of New York City in a lake community . Since 10/97 I've been living on the west coast of Florida . WOW what a treat seeing the Red Wood Trees I thought the Sequoia trees were something else in Sequoia National Park . How did you all get to the west coast so fast weren't ya's just in the Florida Keys w/Marisa , Nathan , Hensley & JJ ?

    • @FindingOurSomeday
      @FindingOurSomeday  4 года назад

      We have actually passed Fresno twice since this video, and circled the US again. We are very far behind on RUclips. We are in south Florida currently. Lake community’s are the absolute best! That’s an awesome way to live! We may hit up sequoia national park this year if the country doesn’t completely lose its mind...

    Aww..those redwoods along the highway are the little ones.... ;-) Our big redwoods are pretty cool, eh, what? ;-) I'm lucky enough to be a (SF Bay Area) northern CA native, and have been able to visit the big trees pretty often. (Redwood doesn't make good firewood: it's actually pretty fire resistant.)
