I always recommend these types of videos for both new and old players wanting to get deeper into the builds of the game. I am a long time veteran of the game and I always learn something new or get reminded of something that I have been neglecting long enough to forget about it. Thank you.
I just discovered your channel today. In the first minute of the first video I realized the great quality of your work! The videos are very nice and easy to understand! Thanks a lot!
I rarely see anyone mentioning Celestial stat, what a pleasant surprise! As 8 years veteran, I actively play 6 characters, one of which is a thief. When I began playing it, I had this silly roleplaying idea of making it a jack-of-all-trades using Celestial set.. but what I discovered was that Celestial is actually a great option for world exploration PVE. Hero points that I wanted to solo and Dungeons that I died too much in became easier, and to my surprise, it never felt like I was lacking damage. Celestial is a great option for anyone that struggled with their first try at Ele, Thief or Mesmer. Highly recommended for beginners on these classes, or those who found them too challenging and gave up early. Great video 👍
I just was messing around with weaver last night and was running celestial stat line. It was a breeze no time did I feel weak or unable to handle mobs. Thanks for the comment!
Excellent video, loved it. This is superb for new players like myself. Great writing, flow, and visuals to this guide. More of this type of content please, I'll take all the help I can get in GW2!
When I was starting out my warrior, and until around level 20-30 mastery, I used a mix of berserker for the chest and legs, and knights for the other 4 armor parts. My accessories consisted of full berserker. This gave me a lot of damage, with just a tinge of toughness as a buffer for whenever I made mistakes. I added in the extra toughness because I figured warriors already had high hp, and there might be DR to consider. As I started getting better and became more confident in my warrior competency, I started peeling off some knights gear and replaced it with dragons for more ferocity. I wasn't, and still am not, so cocky that I'll completely drop toughness/vitality. I also lag a bit since I play on a toaster, and purchasing a good upgrade just isn't in the budget at the moment. After adjusting to 2/6 berserker with 4/6 dragon, I dropped mace/sword in lieu of a GS. The short-cd blocking, from mace-2 and sword-5, were sorely missed but I found that GS-3 with the forceful greatsword trait is good enough to keep me out of trouble. Of course, signet of endurance greatly helps to fuel my dodge rolls for even more survivability. Plus, it's hard to resist axe-4, swap, then GS-2 if mace-5 is on cd. The fury from GS-burst allowed me to drop FGJ for outrage, after swapping out strength for berserker. Outrage has proven invaluable against stuns and knockdowns, being at a mere 10 sec cd, which frees up SIO for more condition removal if necessary. Axe/axe + discipline gives high adrenaline generation, which is great for defense's cleansing ire. Between those and mending + SIO, not to mention even higher adrenaline generation from berserker, condition removal has never been easier. Even without berserker (using strength, discipline, and defense), I could generate adrenaline faster than the burst cd of each weapon, so throwing out one burst after another has never been an issue. Of course, this is only with open world PvE in mind. I haven't delved much into PvP yet, but I'll get around to it eventually.
Trailblazer is insanely good on condi weaver with Diamond Skin. You get little to no damage from strikes and conditions are denied if you can keep yourself healthy, which isn't too hard with the Barrier you automatically generate.
I play some wvw it depends on a lot on the build for condi usually take trailblazers or cele or power play some mix of assassins, maunders, dragons, or berserkers and then therie are some fringe builds that use other stat combos
An observation from a mere 1000 hours player; I kind of regret following the 'meta' cookie cutter stat recommendations on my first character. Not that necromancer was particularly hard to level or felt super squish... but having used the two boosters, and tried out celestial... I kind of wished I had gone celestial with him! Where I had to be very very picky about fights and engagements in HoT story and metas, my revenant almost breezed through it all with barely a single bump in the road. Maybe it's the difference between Vindicator and Reaper, maybe it's having experienced it already. Maybe not... ... anyway, thanks for the video! ❤
Oh of course I mean if you want general opinion celestial will always be a great choice but isn't it interesting that there are certain ups and downs with every class?
My issue with stats so far (about 400 hours in) is that they don’t seem to affect my gameplay all that much. I just go straight Berserker on every class for the DPS, and sometimes I’ll swap in some Marauder if I feel too squishy.
runes can have a semi/small role in gameplay variety example: pack makes you a minor support, ogre summons a pet, trapper grants you some mechanics on the support side, you have things like: mercy (super revive), rebirth (2nd chance), water (condi-cleanse)
It's not the gw2 way to be honest. The game is the best at being able to be picked up and put down when the player needs it which imo makes it invaluable for mmorpgs
@@CaffeinatedDad I wasn't suggesting a different one, because there is no pure condi dps prefix. Condi Virtuoso sometimes uses rampager's because it needs the crit. A pure dps Condi prefix, that would be the equivalent of what berserker's is for power, would be something like: Condition damage, Expertise, and precision, but that doesn't exist. If it existed, I would use a 4 stat prefix of: Condition damage, Expertise, Vitality, and Precision.
in my opinion, worst decision of gw2 is having the stats based on armor instead of a numbers of points to disbrute as gw did. That causes changing builds so expensive and near imposible to test .
NEVER run shit stats like marauder in instanced group/squad content (fractals/strikes/raids). Even new players have to learn to play with the good stats. Also it doesn't save newbies, most of the time deaths are instant death due to failed mechanics.
Well in the instance of Boneskinner where there is constant ticking damage perhaps new players would run more vitality to survive so they can see the fight longer. I do appreciate your opinion though!
@@CaffeinatedDad The problem is: new players won't have the ressource to get an other ascended set just for boneskinner. People in full legendary that can just change their stats won't use marauder in instanced constant since it's a dps loss (can still work for solo open world), but new player that are working of their first ascended set must go berseker (and if they work in second or third set better go condi/support or make gear for adds). Marauder in ascended is just a huge loss of ressources for a very niche content while it would be better to just learn on berserker (bone is supposed to be done with that gear if you're powerdps). Marauder is just good in legendaries for some open world content.

As a fresh f2p core engineer (turret main), I can't count the times that celestial stats have saved my ass during the grind to lvl80
Been playing for a year and just copying builds from Meta, etc.

A lot of condi builds apply conditions on critical hit, so having some precision for that is nice 👍
Oh absolutely! Condi is that funny stat that can't get inherently but precision is important!
Loving the consistent upload. You are appreciated
I appreciate it! I am aiming for a new video every 3 days!
is there a vid explaining each individual stat and how it works ?
useful information! Thank you for the video!

I am playing weaver, the elementalist elite specialization from path of fire!
IMO Vipers is not pure condi, because it has power as a major stat, but it is still the best dps option for many condi builds
What other stat would you suggest? As far as for condi builds?
