    Those poor students died for nothing. They woke up yesterday and went to school and had no idea they wouldn't be returning home that day. I'm so sorry for their families. May they rest in peace.

      S I’m so glad I live in the UK!! Gun violence makes USA seem like a 3rd world country! At least I know my kids are safe in school. Last time there was a school shooting in the UK was in 1996- over 20 years ago.

      Jacob Yuri I live in Canada so I'm just north of the border and we don't experience this as frequently as the States does. We have had some yes, but it's a complete epidemic in the states. It's so sad. I'm glad you feel safe but just imagine how bad these children have it knowing they can't be safe in the hallways of their own schools. :(

      You also don't have the organized legions of hard core thugs. If you did, it would be the same, and I have also heard from plenty of your people complaining because defending yourself is illegal in your country. You have to be a victim then your puissant government defends the criminal. You can have your country.

      Exactly... I remember when Tamir Rice was killed, while playing in the park and his sister was tackled and put in the back of a police car to watch her little brother bleed to death. Let me just say there were fewer prayers and concerns.

    • @flyoverkid55

      @ TCthaCrisis: These killings don't meet the criteria for " terrorism ", just as the over 500 murders per year in the Chicago area don't meet that criteria. Stop spreading your race hatred, it diminishes you and does nothing to address the issue.

      Tamir Rice also pointed what looked like a real gun at police. I can assure you if any white person points a gun at the police they have a good chance of getting shot too.

      It's not unique to the US Norway had a mass shooting were 77 people were kill,89 people got killed in truck attack in France, the UK has regular bomb and acid attacks,and back in the 1990s Japan had a sarin gas attack that killed 12 but injured 5,000 so the deaths were low mostly out of luck and a cyanide gas attack that could have had higher death toll then 9-11 if the bomb detonator didn't malfunction.

    you have these shootings because you have easy access to highly dangerous guns. other countries dont have the same kind of problems because they dont have the same access to these guns. its simple. you have to accept this and change american culture and american laws. its simple, and its the only way.

      It's by no means simple there are as many guns in circulation in America as there are people, do you think the government should go door to door taking peoples guns away? How do you think that would go down?

    • @Jerome573
      @Jerome573 6 лет назад +1

      Dylan Mcnally I dont think they would go door to door that would be way to messy. But the real question is if over 95% of gun homicides are caused by handguns then why are they so set on getting rid of rifles.

      Australia's crime rate skyrocketed after guns were banned. And murders still went up, the only thing that went down were gun deaths. And more importantly, Australia and Western Europe lost their freedom of speech since guns were banned. Now everyone is scared to death of the government, it's like living in North Korea. Hypernormalization.

      guns Texas/colorado Um. No. Police receive over 40 hours of training with firearms and usually take additional hours to use larger firearms. The average American only requires 4 hours of training with some states requiring zero. I don't even trust cops with firearms because in the moment you need it your shooting range aim will not be with you unless you are a hardened user of your firearms. Of which few exist.

    It’s time we get serious. We need to get very serious about how we’re going to protect our kids, the measures that need to be put in place. The awful irony of this is when you look at athletes, celebrities, the political class, all of these people have security, and many of them have armed security. So the question is, at what point are we going to get serious enough about protecting our children and give the protections that all these other groups get?

  • @VikCalo

    Guns aren't the issue. WE are the problem. We don't struggle TOGETHER! We have a ME mentality. We don't care, we go home and say hey your problem. Until that problem is at your door step. So you can go change the guns laws but like the saying goes OUR IDEAS WILL CHANGE THE 🌎 ONCE THEY CHANGE OUR BEHAVIOR... Sleep on that.

    Hey guys and dolls. My heart breaks every single time this happens in the States. I fight with my cousin in Atlanta about the 2nd amendment. The right to bare arms will not be affected if there is a form of control. The fact that one can buy sweets and guns with the same action is so frightening. Youngsters buying a gun before they can buy a beer, scary stuff. Heartbroken about the controls on the mentally ill, so sad Bipolar, manics, PTSD and depression besides this should be standard and enforced as such, you all made great points on the show. Was the bill of rights not changed to abolish slavery and are there not another 33 changes made to the bill of rights since inception? Why can there thus not be adjustments or conditions applied to gun owners to ensure the safety of all? Have been told to mind my own business as I am South African, living on the east coast, Port Elizabeth. Kuddo's to the young scholars on their marches and their eloquent and strong voices, may they gain all the traction they need to take you all forward. Sorry about your TWAT president, we just got rid of ours and if you happen to see Trevor Noah in New York, please give him a BIG HUG AND KISS from me. England is fallacy when it comes to comparing to gun deaths. people often tout as if the U.K. experience some gargantuan 99% drop in gun violence post gun ban. The actual truth? The country never had a high rate of gun homicide to begin with (2-3 dozen a year) and that number has held post gun ban.

    • @flyoverkid55

      @ evies little kingdom: Liar, England does have some very restrictive firearms laws, but to say that there are " no guns " proves you're an idiot. By the way, in England terrorists are killing dozens in the Tube, at bus stations, and driving their cars into crowds in London, or attacking people with edged weapons. Not really a place from which to pontificate.

    Why do you need a Lamborghini or a 1400cc hayabusa that can both top 200 mph? Why does a family of four need a million dollar eight bedroom house? Why would a person with a office job I the suburbs need a f350 pickup truck? Why would anyone need a computer capable of hacking into the FBI? Why do you need a dog bigger then a chow that can rip someone's face off?
    I'm not saying the ar15 isn't dangerous, i don't own one. But it's only used in less the .3 % of gun deaths or crime I the US. And it's not even remotely the most deadly gun. The problem is that there is a gun violence problem, and it's not just one kind of gun. It's all or nothing. Until someone somehow completely eliminates the 2nd amendment. The gun will just change. All we can do now is learn how to defend yourself from a gun. That's a personal choice may it me martial arts or learning how they work and how to fight back. Maybe even with another gun? It's scary, but it's the only option i think.

They practice every week more than the military. And you are very correct---no one needs an assault weapon. There are 9MMs that can hold 17 bullets. You can do a lot of damage with a 9MM. There is 101 reason why gun owners (including myself) disagree with your comments. To be fair this was a tragedy and something needs to be done as far as safety. As far as an AR-15, in my opinion, if you can only have one gun, then a AR-15 would be it. Reason being, guns are EXPENSIVE. Ammo, is EXPENSIVE. Most people can't afford to shoot but a few times a year. Therefore, purchase a gun that you can do everything with (hunting, home defense, sport). As far as blaming guns as a whole, you can't blame an object that can do no harm without a human input. In my opinion, the problem will always be, us as humans not the weapon. If a person makes a conscious decision to do physical harm to people or themselves, then it doesn't matter what tool they use to do it. Do guns make it easier to do harm? Absolutely, no denying that. But is it the root problem? No, it isn't. It's the person pulling the trigger.

    • @Enkabard
      @Enkabard 6 лет назад +5

      no the weapon is problem, you can't stab 17 people to death in school... our brains should be able to process this simple logic, right ?

    • @brandonw.7402
      @brandonw.7402 6 лет назад +3

      Why can't you stab 17 people to death if you wanted to? Do you really think that if all guns were banned, that all deaths in schools would stop? You even said it in your argument, "You can't stab 17 people to death in a school" Keyword "You", which I assume is synonymous for another human being. Can you explain to me why the "You" (human being) isn't the problem in the first place, since they made the decision to hurt people?

      You know what i love about pro gun people. Instead here goes the circle of pointing at attacks at kindergarten children and terminally ill bed ridden patient, yes it happened in China/Japan and either attack happened on *DEFENSLESS TARGETS WHO CAN'T RUN or IT WAS ORGANIZED ATTACK BY SEVERAL ATTACKERS* . And yet again, i know i will get no answer for this and instead you will bring another new stupid argument. I guess putting fingers in your ears and going LALALALALA is basic reaction you share with believers.

I’m simply stating that we must remember why we have the right to bare arms in this country. Just in case the government gets out of hand (that ship has sailed by the way). I need my gun. I don’t trust this government to protect me and my family. But we definitely should not have AR-15s in the closet at home.

    The reason you don’t understand the reason for a “The high capacity rifle” is because you don’t live where there is a need (new York) but where I live we shoot for fun. We have farms, land that needs to be monitored for pests(animals). Also, We are not close to the police(average response is 17 mins) and I shouldn’t have to fight an intruder with a pistol with a restricted mag limit( usually 10 rounds) when the intruder is caring a high capacity gun. just because you don’t understand guns doesn’t mean we don’t have a real need for them. PLEASE CALL 911 and see how long it takes for them to get there. The REALITY of our world is that we are not able to control what others do and have the RIGHT to not be over taken by people looking to do harm. These are not toys to me but my ability to level the field from people who don’t respect my wife’s or my life or safety. Just because the news doesn’t talk about the good guns have done for us doesn’t change the that fact. We are responsible for our own safety and cops will not be there to save you. Ask them, they’ll tell you. Gun ownership is a right just like a drivers license or legal age of drinking, it requires a level of responsibility and maturity to operate(like a car). Just because a gun CAN kill doesn’t mean that’s the reason we own guns. I own a truck but haven’t taken it off-road or done everything the truck is capable of but doesn’t mean I don’t have the ability to use those feature if NEEDED. This has been repeated at nausium but the gun is NOT the issue. People reported this kid to the FBI twice but no action was taken but if it were to have been taken the kid would not have been able to use his rifle to cause harm. By stopping the person, you stop the threat. Kinda sounds like the person and not the gun is the issue we have. I understand that people are using guns to cause these killings and don’t disregard that. There are too many guns out there to stop these things and new laws would only stop future sales but these guns would still be around. Criminals don’t follow laws so why would they care if laws are made. This kid bought his rifle but if he wasn’t able to get THAT rifle he would have used other means. He was determined no matter the means. Stop calling people stupid for things you flat out don’t understand

At this point it doesn't matter why people need military grade guns because it doesn't matter wether they're legal or not if people want them bad enough they're going to get them. And their isn't a damn thing you can do to stop them.

      Well, then why is the U.S. trying to stop North Korea from getting nukes? Why is Trump willing to waste 19 billion on a border wall? Why do anything since criminals are going to do it anyways. The reason is because people always use the path of least resistance and the easier something is to get, the more likely people are to use it. The same gun the shooter used in Sandy Hook was $1000 at Walmart but $34,000 in countries where it's banned.

The AR-15 only LOOKS like a machine gun but it is a 1 trigger pull=1 bullet fired gun. "Assault weapon" is a made-up left wing term to create fear among those uneducated about guns.

I will live my whole life without a single need for a firearm, why is that? Because our country realised 1 massacre was enough, it was all it took before we stood up and said 'no! Never again!' and it never has, to this day. A true Aussie fights his battles with diplomacy, with a stubby in one hand and a barbie spatula in the other.

    48 seconds into the video and the lie is told. The legislation referred to by the talking head had no effect upon those adjudicated mentally deficient or " disturbed ", and if you READ that law, you will know this. That piece of legislation prevents government from violating the rights of those who appoint guardians or caretakers to handle their legal affairs.
    I challenge any of you to demonstrate how it is that the NRA is connected to this murderer. As a matter of fact, local law enforcement had been called to the address of the killer's family on dozens of occasions dating back to 2011, as per local reports. Those agencies, including family services [ or whatever they call it in FL ] failed to adequately address this history of problematic behavior. Firearms law had nothing to do with this. If that were so, in the face of the fact that tens of millions of us own firearms, wouldn't we be seeing a whole lot more of these events?
    At the risk of stating the obvious [ yet I believe it must be done ], laws are only effective when people choose to obey them. Those that choose to ignore them will do so without regard for what you and I think about that. This isn't about legislation, the killer clearly didn't care at all about laws, it's about how much of a type of behavior society is willing to allow to go unnoticed.

    there are an estimated 350,000,000 guns in America.......how and where do we start collecting them? Do we need search warrants for safe deposit boxes and storage units. I know people will think I'm being a smart a$$....but to me it's mind boggling. Not to mention the millions of tons of goods entering every single port every day in America. Mind boggling Dilemma as far as i'm concerned....no way out.

    Ebro...I agree with you. Assault rifles and the like are problematic. The average everyday citizen does not need this weapon. There is also the issue of gun owners learning how to properly fire and care for the weapon. Gun owners - like all law enforcement and military - should be required to re-up their education and be physically tested at a gun range every 3 to 5 years. Similiar to drivers license requirements.

    THE BEST RESOLUTION TO REMOVE GUNS AND THE LIKE, IS WHAT WE HEARD FROM THAT STUDENT WHO PROTESTED A FEW DAYS AGO!
    SO UPSET SHE WAS, YELLING HER FRUSTRATION TO TRUMP AND THE ADMIN, ALL THEY NEED TO DO IS DO NON-STOP PROTESTING - JUST LIKE THAT- JUST LIKE SHE DID A FEW DAYS AGO BUT PROTEST NON - STOP!!!
    EVENTUALLY, THE NRA OR THE W. HOUSE AND ITS GUN LOBBY WILL 'CAVE'!!!!

    No, not all of us are sick, B. I own an AR and I could easily rationalize the home and self protection or hunting and sport shooting reasons for having one, but the simple fact is I like my AR - its a kick in the pants to shoot and there's nothing better than going to the range with my sons to blow away some paper zombie and killer clown targets.
    You don't get to decide my need for an AR - I do....and the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution guarantees that I get to keep and bear arms (including my AR).
    I know that won't bring back those kids in Parkland or heal the wounds of the living and my sympathy goes out to their families. But I didn't take the lives of those kids. My right as a gun owner, and more speifically an AR owner should not be infringed because it makes you feel safer or a better human being.
    That's just not right!

    This is the problem- you have people talking on issues in which they don't have understanding. People get passionate but don't seek the facts. You cannot just say people dont care; seek to understand. We need metal detectors, police and trained staff with guns in the schools. Criminals will still find a way to kill. But what we really need is to repent as a Nation for our sins and evil hearts.

    This is a mental health issue not a gun issue, and I am pro-gun I am for 2nd Amendment and ppl with mental issues shouldn't have guns...that's a gun free zone, so this would prove that more gun laws means absolutely nothing.

    Security will only help a little! By the time someone pulls a gun that's too late! Ban the guns! People say what about protecting yourself but how many times in your life will you need to do that? I'm 35 and iv never needed too and have never met anyone who has. You have that many guns available it's crazy. With all the shootings that happen on regular basis how can people even want to keep them.

    Let’s also not remove race from this conversation. Predominantly White and Male, do we not realize the pattern ?
    This is a matter of guns, race, gender, etc.
    The problem is that these politicians forget people’s humanity... these 17 were people’s children and parents... and it could’ve been theirs.
